Best FPL players

Projections change regularly, so be sure to check them nearer the deadline.
Chris Tan meanwhile delves deeper into the team and player stats to identify under-the-radar options which could haul based on opposition weaknesses.

Best FPL captain
Our top three picks for the armband this week, assessed by the Hub’s longstanding captaincy expert Chris.
Each week, Chris discusses the pros and cons of Hub AI’s leading candidate, an alternative and a higher-risk punt for those who like to go against the crowd.
After a wide-open captaincy race last week, Erling Haaland looks to be the clear choice for Manchester City’s match against Ipswich (H) - but who are the best alternatives? Chris will have the lowdown later this week.

Best FPL Wildcard and team of the week
Each week, Hub AI picks its best Free Hit and Wildcard squads.
We go through a snapshot of its thinking in our weekly article, featuring predicted points, fixture analysis and chip tips.
Some of our expert managers will be considering playing their Wildcard this week, having been put off by some of the fixtures and injury uncertainty in Gameweek 6.
City came through their first big test since their financial charges verdict and wildcarders may choose to add another of their players alongside Haaland.
FPL transfer targets
A new section of our revamped Ultimate Guide, our top players to buy, hold and sell are as follows:
Buy - Maxim De Cuyper
Brighton’s Pascal Gross was the top transfer target ahead of Gameweek 6 and it’s another Seagulls pick who leads the way again.
De Cuyper netted his third double-digit haul against Sunderland (A) at the weekend, with a goal and clean sheet points.
The Belgian full-back, playing as a winger, could eventually face competition when Brighton’s injury absentees return.
But on this form, it’s hard to see him losing his place - and Brighton have another decent fixture in Gameweek 7, hosting rivals Crystal Palace.
Brighton players do not look so good in Gameweek 8 and 9 - against Liverpool and Manchester City - but they have shown they can score against anyone.

Hold - Morgan Gibbs-White
Gibbs-White did some serious points dodging in Gameweek 6, with his teammates failing to convert two big chances he created.
The Nottingham Forest midfielder is certainly worth holding though, with his assist potential combined with penalty duties and historic goal threat.
Arsenal (H) is not the best fixture for Forest and one FPL managers could bench him in if they have the luxury, but we think the Englishman will be back in the points again soon.

Sell - Alexander Isak
Isak missed Gameweek 6 through injury and his status for Gameweek 7 is unclear.
Even if fit though, is it worth spending £9.0m on a forward that is not Haaland?
Budget options like Thierno Barry, Gonzalo Garcia and Dominic Calvert-Lewin all offer the chance to save funds and restructure your side.

FPL differentials
Want something a bit different to the crowd?
Our FPL differential gems are all under 10% ownership at the time of writing.
Dominic Solanke - Spurs - 1%
Solanke scored his first goal of the season in Gameweek 6 and faces Coventry (H) next.
He has had the most big chances in the Spurs squad (four), despite being limited to just 260 minutes. His 1.24 expected goals (xG) is also the best.
While Coventry beat Newcastle 4-1 on Monday, the game’s xG showed they were fortunate to win by such a scoreline.
The Magpies generated 1.84 xG to their 1.43 and the Sky Blues rank fourth worst for expected goals conceded (xGC).
There should be opportunities here for the Spurs striker to increase his goals tally.
Savio is another Spurs pick who has passed the eye test and leads the way for expected goal involvements (xGI) on 1.49.

Gonzalo Garcia - Fulham - 7%
Garcia did not reward our confidence in him in Gameweek 6 but the Fulham frontman has another opportunity against Hull (H) this week.
The Spaniard had three shots on goal against Ipswich, with two of them hitting the target.
His 0.67 xG was in the top five for forwards, taking his total to 3.01. With just one goal to his name, he looks due for another.

Marcus Tavernier - Bournemouth - 7%
Tavernier is surprisingly low-owned given his multiple routes to points.
He tops the charts among Bournemouth players for shots (13), xG (1.7) and big chances created (three), scoring three times.
Injuries to Alex Scott, Eli Junior Kroupi and Justin Kluivert have increased his share of set-pieces and penalties - although penalty-taking Kluivert played 20 minutes in Europe on Thursday, so could be a starter again soon.
The Cherries host Sunderland this week and Tavernier could exploit the Black Cats’ zonal weakness.
