<h2>Sky Gameweek 23 and 24 preview</h2>
<p>There are six days of action over gameweeks 23 and 24 and I’ve covered them in one article, especially as Gameweek 23 sees a grand total of just one game.</p>
<p>The sole fixture is Fulham v Chelsea on Thursday (January 12).</p>
<p>For those of you with a Chelsea defender or thinking of bringing one in, you can check the lineup rather than second guessing Graham Potter.</p>
<p>None of the attacking assets overly appeal to me. Of course a player like <strong>Kai Havertz (£9.2m)</strong> could grab a goal or two but they’re too inconsistent for me.</p>
<p><strong>Raheem Sterling (£10.0m)</strong> went off injured after two minutes against Manchester City, so I doubt he’ll be back anyway.</p>
<p><strong>Aleksandar Mitrovic (£7.7m)</strong> will serve his suspension in this game. <strong>Joao Palhinha (£6.6m)</strong> could therefore provide cover as captain as he’s always good for tackle bonus.</p>
<p>You could even captain a Chelsea or Fulham player on Sunday, so I’d definitely make plans to have someone in this game.</p>
<p>I already own <strong>Kepa Arrizabalaga (£6.6m)</strong> and <strong>Thiago Silva (£9.2m)</strong> but if I didn’t, I’d just go with Palhinha.</p>

<h3>Gameweek 24: Starting off with a single</h3>
<p>Gameweek 24 starts the next day with the single game day of Aston Villa v Leeds.</p>
<p>This could be a skip for many - do you want to use two transfers to bring in - then take out - a Villa or Leeds asset?</p>
<p>I can’t say they really appeal to me but some have already brought in <strong>Ollie Watkins (£9.0m)</strong> or <strong>Rodrigo (£7.4m)</strong> in preparation for the single.</p>
<p>I’m a bit concerned about this game. I think I should get someone in but I don’t really rate Watkins as an option.</p>
<p>Is he a player who can score a brace in a match? He’s scored three goals all season and you may get lucky and get a goal out of him but is it worth it?</p>
<p>I think I’d prefer to go for <strong>Emiliano Martinez (£7.0m)</strong> and pray for a clean sheet. He could get saves bonus and get you 22 points as captain - that would be a good return.</p>
<p>I think there’s more chance of that happening than Watkins getting a brace.</p>
<p>Those who brought in Rodrigo have already earned nine points, as he scored against West Ham. He’s already put you up if you made the move and even if he blanks in the single, I think you've done OK from the transfer.</p>

<h3>Saturday games</h3>
<p>Saturday sees a handful of games - the pick of the bunch being Manchester United v Manchester City in the early kick-off.</p>
<p>Brighton face Liverpool and who knows what to expect from that. I would imagine most will captain <strong>Erling Haaland (£11.5m)</strong>, provided the Norwegian starts.</p>
<h3>Sunday fixtures</h3>
<p>Sunday has three games to choose from - Newcastle v Fulham, Chelsea v Crystal Palace and Tottenham Hotspur v Arsenal.</p>
<p>There are plenty of options there for a captain, from Arsenal assets to maybe even a Chelsea defender given we will have the luxury of seeing the lineup.</p>
<p>Mitrovic should also be back, with his suspension served.</p>
<p><strong>Kieran Trippier (£7.8m) </strong>or <strong>Nick Pope (£7.1m) </strong>could also be given the armband. Newcastle have kept the most clean sheets of any team this season.</p>
<h3>Extra game added</h3>
<p>Wednesday has now seen Crystal Palace v Manchester United added to the schedule. The<a href="https://www.fantasyfootballhub.co.uk/fpl-blank-double-gameweek-guide"> rearranged fixture</a> was slotted in at pretty late notice.</p>
<p>For those with <strong>Marcus Rashford (£8.1m)</strong> or another United player, you're in luck.</p>
<p>The last game of the week is on Thursday and sees Manchester City v Tottenham. Again, provided he starts, surely Haaland is the captain of choice.</p>
