Graham Potter has left Chelsea after a 2-0 home loss to Aston Villa &#8211; but what could this mean for FPL?
We take a look at the <a href="https://cms.fantasyfootballhub.co.uk/opta/" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c="1" title="FPL Stats by OPTA - Player and Team Stats">stats</a> during Potter&#8217;s time at Stamford Bridge, examining their struggles to score goals and the challenges facing whoever takes over on a permanent basis.

<h2>FPL Gameweek 29: What happened in Graham Potter&#8217;s last game?</h2>
Potter&#8217;s last game in charge was a frustrating one for the home side.
The Blues had 27 shots &#8211; the third-highest figure of the weekend behind some mega totals from <a href="https://www.fantasyfootballhub.co.uk/fpl-gameweek-29-review-and-key-stats">Crystal Palace and Brighton</a>.
But only eight hit the target, the same number Manchester City managed with 10 fewer shots.
Villa had five attempts on goal but took their chances, with Ollie Watkins (£7.5m) and John McGinn (£5.1m) on the scoresheet.
Chelsea&#8217;s inability to convert their chances under Potter is a trend we will explore below, however it was in sharp focus at the weekend.
Their expected goals (xG) of 2.35 was way ahead of Villa&#8217;s 0.9. Mykhailo Mudryk (£6.5m) missed two big chances and Kai Havertz (£7.6m) another.
The Ukrainian failed to square a first-ball to Havertz in the first half. The German would have had the goal at his mercy given the opportunity.
Potter said after the match:
<blockquote>&#8220;Defensively we&#8217;ve left ourselves too open but again if you look at the <a href="https://cms.fantasyfootballhub.co.uk/opta/" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c="1" title="FPL Stats by OPTA - Player and Team Stats">stats</a> of the game we had chances ourselves, we had one-v-ones but the most important thing, putting the ball into the net, we were second-best.&#8221;</blockquote>

<h2>Chelsea&#8217;s FPL stats under Graham Potter</h2>
Thomas Tuchel was in charge up to FPL Gameweek 6, with Potter taking the helm in the league for the first time in Gameweek 9.
The club had struggled defensively, with the 10th highest expected goals conceded (xGC).
Their xG also lagged behind their league rivals, ranking 12th.
This was despite new owner Todd Boehly splashing more than £278m in the summer.
Key signings including Raheem Sterling (£9.7m), Kalidou Koulibaly (£5.5m), Marc Cucurella (£5.0m) and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang (£8.4m).

<h3>Improved defence &#8211; but goalscoring troubles</h3>
Potter tightened up the defence, with Chelsea ranking fourth best for xGC per 90 in his time as manager.
But his team left a lot to be desired when it came to scoring goals.
Chelsea ranked 10th for xG per 90, however when it came to actual goals scored, their return was only good enough for 15th place.
They had the biggest underformance of their xG, marginally worse than Liverpool &#8211; but the Reds have scored 19 more goals with a game in hand.
<h3>The wrong forwards?</h3>
Critics have pointed to Chelsea lacking a natural number nine.
With Romelu Lukaku sent on loan to Inter Milan, Chelsea needed Barcelona signing Aubameyang to fire.
The forward has managed just one Premier League goal though and fell out of favour with Potter.
He has played seven league minutes since Gameweek 22 and was frozen out of the Blues&#8217; Champions League squad to make room for new signings.
Kai Havertz (£7.6m) has been the main man up top of late and since a change of formation in Gameweek 26, the 23-year-old is first in the league for xG per appearance. The gap between their xG and actual goals scored also narrowed.
And while that may be evidence Potter could have turned things round given time, it has been argued his systems did not suit the players he had available.
That is the view of football coach and analyst <a href="https://twitter.com/hbrooks_coach">Harry Brooks</a>, who concluded in a detailed <a href="https://twitter.com/hbrooks_coach/status/1642257868375183362">Twitter thread</a>:
<blockquote>&#8220;Potter teams are expected to score from chances that look high quality &#8211; close to goal, central, high xG.
&#8220;But they are often crowded, have to be rushed due to numbers of players back, and awkwardly redirected/struck early towards goal.
&#8220;It takes top goalscorers to flourish here. And Potter&#8217;s Brighton and Potter&#8217;s Chelsea do not have these profiles of forwards who can remain calm and ready to pounce when an opportunity finally arrives.&#8221;</blockquote>

<h2>What could a new manager mean for Chelsea&#8217;s FPL prospects?</h2>
Much depends on who succeeds Potter. Former Bayern boss Julian Nagelsmann &#8211; replaced by Tuchel &#8211; is the bookmakers&#8217; favourite.
Brendan Rodgers, who left Leicester at the weekend, is also in the mix.
Different managers will offer contrasting styles, however one battle that could be resumed is between the goalkeepers.
Potter&#8217;s appointment was good news for Kepa Arrizabalaga (£4.7m), who reclaimed the number-one jersey from Edouard Mendy (£4.8m).
Mendy is still working his way back to full fitness following a fractured finger, however he could stake a renewed claim for a place in the starting 11 under a new manager.
Arrizabalaga is owned by 9.9% of FPL managers.
At the other end of the pitch, might a change of boss lead to a return for Aubameyang &#8211; or perhaps even Lukaku next season?
If not, a number nine will surely be among the targets in the summer. Having spent in excess of £550m already, money is unlikely to be an issue for Chelsea&#8217;s owners.
But getting the best out of the existing players such as Mudryk, who signed an eight-and-a-half-year deal, will also be critical.
Bruno Saltor, former Brighton full-back and member of Potter&#8217;s backroom staff, has been appointed interim manager while a search for a full-time manager takes place.
Chelsea play Liverpool at home on Tuesday.
