Fantasy football is a huge passion of mine, so the opportunity to work in the industry was too good a chance to turn down. 
After nearly ten years in local journalism, I have begun a new journey as editor of Fantasy Football Hub. 
I am no stranger to the Hub, having been a member for a number of years. 
But most subscribers will not know me, so I have penned this piece to introduce myself. 
<h2>Fantasy Experience</h2>
My interest in fantasy football was sparked by FPL when I was a teenager. It’s fair to say back then I was more of a casual player.
But my love of the game has only increased as time has gone by and I now mix FPL with Sky Fantasy Football. 
Sky is my strongest format. Hub members who follow the site’s Sky content may remember I wrote a series of differential player pieces a few seasons back, before my two children came along and took over my free time. 
It’s nearly impossible to get the little ones (and me) to pose sensibly for a nice family portrait but here is a picture of Albie, my eldest assistant manager, and I.

Last season, I finished in 53rd &#8211; my first top 100 finish &#8211; after two previous seasons in the top 200. 
This season, I backed up that first top 100 by finishing in 60th place. Thanks at this point go to Newcastle’s Bruno Guimaraes, whose 47 points in gameweek 36 really helped me on the way to the top 100 once again.

The Hub played a major part in helping me crack the top 100, particularly the <a href="https://www.fantasyfootballhub.co.uk/whatsapp">members’ WhatsApp groups</a>. The groups are a great place to share ideas with fellow managers and more generally it’s fantastic to be part of a community of people who love the game too.
FPL admittedly remains a work in progress. I secured a personal best overall rank this season but just missed out on my target of finishing in the top 100k. Encouragingly, I had a five-figure rank for seven weeks up to gameweek 35 but I dropped to 154k in a poor gameweek 36 and couldn’t quite recover.
Fortunately, my job as editor is not about being the best fantasy manager. It is about ensuring you get the best information to help you to maximise your potential, whether that be through our editorial content or the Hub’s vast toolbox, featuring planners and <a href="https://cms.fantasyfootballhub.co.uk/opta/" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c="1" title="FPL Stats by OPTA - Player and Team Stats">stats</a> aplenty. The Hub is a brilliant outlet for various formats, so I’ll be looking to learn more about the likes of Telegraph and Sun Dream Team &#8211; and we will bring you as much content on all the main game formats as we can. 
<h2>10 Years in Journalism </h2>
I joined the Hub after nearly a decade in local media. I started as a freelance reporter at a paper called the Worthing Herald and worked my way up through various roles, eventually ending as editor of a rural broadsheet the West Sussex Gazette.
From business to politics and a little bit of sport, I’ve covered nearly everything (and most importantly dominated the office fantasy league!) but now I’m able to fully focus on fantasy football &#8211; and I can’t wait to get started. 
In recent years, I’ve spent a lot of time editing content from contributors. Working at the Hub will be no different &#8211; and we do our best to ensure you get top-quality advice from some of the best in the business. I look forward to touching base with our brilliant contributors as soon as possible.
<h2>What to Expect From the Hub Going Forward</h2>
For the season ahead, you can expect the same mix of top tips and team reveals and hopefully some new innovations, too. 
My new team has already spent weeks planning for pre-season and it’s all aimed at creating winning fantasy managers, whether that’s challenging for the overall title or getting an edge over your mini-league rivals.
