            <p>Chelsea have had a slow start to the Premier League season, picking up five points in five games under new manager Mauricio Pochettino - so is it time to sell their FPL players?</p>
<p><strong>Ben Chilwell (£5.8m) </strong>and <strong>Nicolas Jackson (£7.1m) </strong>are the two most popular Chelsea players in the game, owned by 31.4% and 15.9% of managers respectively, but are among the most transferred out this week.</p>
<p><strong>Raheem Sterling (£7.2m) </strong>and <strong>Malo Gusto (£4.2m) </strong>are also highly owned, so plenty of managers have a headache over what to do with their teams.</p>

<h2>Assessing Chelsea's form</h2>
<p>First, let's look at Chelsea's form from a team and player perspective.</p>
<h3>Team form: Attacking and defensive stats</h3>
<p>Chelsea struggled to score last season, ranking joint-15th for goals scored (38).</p>
<p>The lack of an out-and-out striker was partly blamed for them massively under-performing their expected goals (xG) tally of 52.16.</p>
<p>Jackson's signing was a step in the right direction, however the Blues' problems persist.</p>
<p>They continue to under-perform their xG, with only Everton doing worse.</p>

<p>Chelsea have scored five goals, significantly short of their 9.55 xG, having created 12 big chances. League-leading Brighton have scored three times more goals already.</p>
<p>Defensively, the picture is more encouraging. They have the third best expected goals conceded (5.3), letting in five goals - the joint-fourth best record.</p>
<p>They have kept two clean sheets so far, the most alongside five other teams.</p>

<h3>Nicolas Jackson: Struggling to score</h3>
<p>FPL managers are already losing patience with Jackson.</p>
<p>He is the most popular transfer out so far this week, having been taken out of 189,000 teams and counting - and the stats indicate why.</p>
<p>Jackson had a promising pre-season, scoring twice and assisting three on Chelsea's United States tour. The club was competing in the Premier League Summer Series, meaning the majority of their games were against league opposition.</p>
<p>He linked up well with fellow new signing <strong>Christopher Nkunku (£7.3m) </strong>but a knee injury has kept the Frenchman from making his Premier League debut and the Senegalese striker has failed to kick on without him.</p>
<p>He has one goal in five league games and has missed numerous big chances.</p>
<p>Only <strong>Erling Haaland (£14.1m) </strong>has registered more big chances than Jackson, who has seen seven come his way.</p>
<p>Jackson has therefore under-performed his xG (3.18) and frustrated fantasy fans, with his 11 points well short of his 25.08 expected points.</p>
<p>And to make things worse, he has fallen foul of the league's crackdown on dissent, picking up <a href="https://www.fantasyfootballhub.co.uk/fpl-yellow-cards-23-24-season">four yellow cards</a> - one short of a suspension.</p>

<h3><strong>Ben Chilwell: An advanced role - but benched in Gameweek 5</strong></h3>
<p>The full-back has been playing as a left-winger and this advanced role has seen him involved in plenty of attacking movements.</p>
<p>He ranks joint-third among defenders for shots in the box, fourth for xA and 10th for xG.</p>
<p>But he has just one assist, having had his only goal disallowed in Gameweek 1 against Liverpool.</p>
<p>He was benched in Gameweek 5, with Pochettino opting to play <strong>Mykhailo Mudryk (£6.4m) </strong>down the left against Bournemouth.</p>
<p>This appeared to be a tactical decision, with Pochettino stating pre-match he wanted a 'more offensive player' in that position against the Cherries.</p>
<p>But speaking at his pre-match press conference, he highlighted how Chilwell had impressed him in the left-wing role. He said:</p>

<p>“Ben is a full-back, I know, but he can help the team in a different position. But I think Chilwell in four games he created more chances than any other player."</p>
</blockquote>
<p>Chilwell is likely to remain a key part of his manager's plans then, although a reversion to a normal left-back role, currently being filled by <strong>Levi Colwill (£4.5m)</strong>, is a possibility.</p>

<h3>Raheem Sterling: Three attacking returns - but in one game</h3>
<p>Sterling has two goals and one assist to his name, with all those attacking returns coming in Gameweek 3 against Luton.</p>
<p>He leads the way among his teammates for FPL points (27), with Gusto and <strong>Axel Disasi (£5.1m)</strong> tied in second on 24.</p>
<p>The Luton game, in which our <a href="https://www.fantasyfootballhub.co.uk/fpl-gameweek-3-fixtures-analysis">fixture analysis</a> indicated he could exploit the Hatters' zonal weakness, accounts for the majority of his overall xG and xA.</p>
<p>Shots on target have been Sterling's downfall, with three of his 13 on target, but only four of his opportunities have been classified as big chances.</p>
