<h2 class="p1"><span class="s1">Sky Sports Fantasy Football Gameweek 8 preview</span></h2>
<p>It’s an unusual week this week as we find ourselves with three perhaps quite unappealing single game days - but they can provide us with some much-needed points if everything goes to plan.</p>
<p>It certainly makes things interesting and transfers can be made to take advantage. This is especially the case for players who find themselves injured or suspended.</p>
<p><strong>Nicolas Jackson (£8.2m)</strong> picked up his fifth yellow card of the season, meaning owners don't have him as a captain against Fulham on Monday.</p>
<p>Add that to a red card for <strong>Rodri (£9.4m) </strong>and <strong>Bukayo Saka (£10.4m) </strong>potentially being injured and there's plenty to think about.</p>
<h3>Saturday games</h3>
<p>There are eight games on Saturday. The pick of these for me is Tottenham v Liverpool.</p>
<p><strong>James Maddison (£9.3m)</strong>, <strong>Son Heung-min (£9.7m)</strong> and<strong> Mohamed Salah (£11.5m)</strong> are all of interest. Even <strong>Darwin Nunez (£9.4m)</strong> who has the same amount of goals as Salah this season is an option.</p>
<p>The red card of highly owned Rodri - in 55% of the top 1,000 - on Saturday meant many had a decision to make.</p>
<p>The good thing for owners was they could bring in a player on Sunday and gain some fixtures.</p>
<p>If you didn’t own a Spurs player already, it was a 7-1 over Rodri. Many took this route.</p>
<p>Rodri’s ownership dropped to 5% and Maddison and Son’s went from 21% and 8.7% to 29.9% and 18.4% respectively - of course this included teams that moved into the top 1,000 as the Spurs duo racked up the points.</p>
<p>Both Son and Maddison look good options going forward, especially with their single game days coming up. Maddison has two goals and four assists from six starts, while Son has five goals from six starts.</p>

<p>Manchester City face Wolves at Molineux and <strong>Erling Haaland (£12m)</strong> will be massively selected as captain for most mangers.</p>
<p>City do face Leipzig on Wednesday in the Champion’s League but given he didn’t play against Newcastle in the Carabao Cup in midweek, I don’t have any concerns that he won’t start against Wolves.</p>
<p>Bournemouth host Arsenal and there has been doubts over whether Saka will be fit enough to start and this would put me off captaining him if you were thinking of going against Haaland.</p>
<h3>Sunday - start of the single game days</h3>
<p>Sunday is the first of the singles - Forest v Brentford.</p>
<p>Given his ownership, <strong>Taiwo Awoniyi (£7.5m)</strong> will be a popular choice. The striker has done his job so far for Sky managers and once more we’ll be hoping he can deliver.</p>
<p>In roughly 25% of the top 1,000 teams, a goal or two will boost owners' ranks.</p>

<p>If you don’t own anyone, you could do a move such as <strong>Lewis Dunk (£8.3m)</strong> to <strong>Bryan Mbeumo (£8.3m)</strong> for a 5-2.</p>
<p>You’d miss Dunk against Liverpool and City but gain Mbeumo for the captaincy against Forest plus Brentford's other three games against Manchester United, Burnley and Chelsea.</p>
<p>Monday sees the second single - Fulham v Chelsea. This was the reason why I’d been holding on to Jackson, only for the Senegalese to collect his fifth yellow card of the season and miss it through suspension.</p>
<p>His ownership was sitting at 8.3% last Sunday and has only dropped by 1% to 7.3% - but this at least allows owners the chance to take him out for anyone.</p>
<p>Tuesday brings the last game of the gameweek in Luton v Burnley. A player getting a bit of attention is <strong>Jordan Beyer (£6.6m)</strong>.</p>
<p>The Burnley defender made 101 passes against United last weekend and he even had two tackles. Maybe he is worth looking at.</p>
<p>While Burnley probably aren’t going to get many clean sheets, a £6.6m defender who can get four-five points each week could be an option, especially if it allows you to use the money saved elsewhere in your team.</p>
<p>He’s hit tier-two passing in his last two starts for Burnley and could bring owners a 20 pointer as captain if Burnley can keep a clean sheet. The main thing I look for in a defender is clean sheets though, so I’m not convinced.</p>
