<p>Four-time top 1k and six-time top 5k FPL finisher <a href="https://twitter.com/FPL_Salah">Abdul Rehman</a> identifies the six best midfielders for the group stages looking at their fixtures and underlying stats.</p>
<p>Abdul counts down from six to number one, with his top three picks exclusively revealed for Hub members.</p>

<h2 style="text-align: left;">Best World Cup Fantasy midfielders</h2>

<h3><strong>6. Mohammed Kudus ($6.0m) – Ghana</strong></h3>
<p><strong>Fixtures: Portugal, Korea, Uruguay</strong></p>
<p><strong>Mohammed Kudus </strong>is an attacking midfielder, who is having a great season this year for Ajax. He has 10 goals and two assists in 20 games in all competitions.</p>
<p>He has especially impressed in the Champions League, where he has scored four goals and two assists in just six games.</p>
<p>He will likely play in the centre of midfield, but could also play as a number nine which he has done on a few occasions this term for his club. He has both goal and assist threat, and his price of $6.0m is a bargain so he also acts as an enabler.</p>
<p>He has five goals for his country in 18 matches, and is their best attacking asset. He will be their talisman in this tournament, and although Ghana are one of the weaker sides they still have a decent team.</p>
<p>This includes the likes of <strong>Thomas Partey, Mohamed Salisu, Daniel Amartey</strong> and the <strong>Ayew</strong> brothers. They could surprise a few with the talent they have.</p>
<p>If they score, Kudus is very likely to be involved.</p>

<h3><strong>5. Jamal Musiala ($8.0m) – Germany</strong></h3>
<p><strong>Fixtures: Japan, Spain, Costa Rica</strong></p>
<p><strong>Jamal Musiala</strong> is having a fantastic season for Bayern Munich, and could be a great alternative to his teammate <strong>Leroy</strong> <strong>Sane</strong> <strong>($9.0m)</strong> at $1m less.</p>
<p>Musiala has nine goals and seven assists this season for Bayern in the league, which makes him their current top scorer. He is in a great vein of form entering the World Cup, and this could well be his breakout tournament.</p>
<p>Germany have two really good fixtures from an attacking perspective against Japan and Costa Rica, and they are perfect games for Musiala to shine in.</p>
<p>He should be a sure starter for the Germans, given they have a few injuries including <strong>Marco Reus </strong>and <strong>Timo Werner, </strong>and Musiala's red-hot form domestically.</p>

<h3><strong>4. Steven Bergwijn ($7.0m) – Netherlands</strong></h3>
<p><strong>Fixtures: Senegal, Ecuador, Qatar</strong></p>
<p><strong>Steven Bergwijn</strong> comes in at a very nice price of $7.0m, and the fact he is likely to play as a forward makes him a very good pick. He is probably the best out-of-position player in the game.</p>
<p>The ex-Spurs player has eight goals and three assists for Ajax this season in all competitions, and has 68 goals and 61 assists over his club career.</p>
<p>He has both goals and assists in his locker, and he should do very well in the group stages looking at his fixtures.</p>
<p>The Netherlands will be hot favourites to win their group, as they face Senegal, Ecuador and Qatar which is <a href="https://cms.fantasyfootballhub.co.uk/best-teams-to-target-2022-world-cup-fantasy-football/">one the easiest groups</a>.</p>
<p>They scored 33 goals during their qualifying campaign, and Bergwijn has four goals for his country this calendar year.</p>
<p>Looking at his price, attacking potential, and fixtures, Bergwijn looks like he could get a fair few returns during the group stages.</p>
<p>The Ajax forward is also coming into this tournament in great form, as he has five goals and one assist in his last six starts for his country.</p>
<p>He is also isn't a bad shout for captaincy on day two of Matchday 1 against Senegal.</p>
