<h2 class="p1"><span class="s1">Sky Sports Fantasy Football Gameweek 17 preview</span></h2>
<p class="p1">Now is when the season really gets going for me, the busy festive period.</p>
<p class="p1">Games will be coming thick and fast and with that comes chaos. The more chaos the better.</p>
<p class="p1">Even a postponed match due to snow or ice can be beneficial. I even think some managers can get caught up with the busy nature of Christmas and miss making moves, which benefits us managers who never miss a deadline.</p>
<p>Gameweek 17 is a five-day week but it should be fairly easy to cover, as most days do have players that are well owned.</p>
<h3>Saturday a Saliba day?</h3>
<p>Saturday's captaincy option for me is pretty much <strong>William Saliba (£9.0m)</strong>. The Arsenal defender faces Wolves at home, so I’m hopeful of passing bonus and a clean sheet. He’s very highly owned, at 70.2% in the top 1,000.</p>
<p>If I owned <strong>Bukayo Saka (£10.4m)</strong> he’d be an option but I sold him a while back. He’s still in 33.9% of the top 1,000 teams but hasn’t scored in his last five league games.</p>
<p>I could captain<strong> Andre Onana (£7.3m)</strong> but after his performance midweek and the fact it’s Newcastle away, I think Saliba is my best bet.</p>

<h3>Sunday - Salah v Haaland</h3>
<p>Sunday I think will be a choice between <strong>Erling Haaland (£12.0m)</strong> and <strong>Mohamed Salah (£11.5m)</strong>.</p>
<p>Manchester City host Spurs, while Liverpool host Fulham. Salah is 94.9% owned in the top 1,000, while Haaland is on 93.1%, so there’s nothing in it really. As long as you own both, I don’t think it matters who you captain.</p>

<h3>Arsenal captaincy options again on Tuesday?</h3>
<p>Tuesday sees a couple of games - Wolves v Burnley and Luton v Arsenal.</p>
<p>Again, for those with Saliba or Saka, they will be the main two but if you fancied an alternative then <strong>Hwang Hee-chan (£7.3m)</strong> or <strong>Matheus Cunha (£7.2m)</strong> could be a gamble if you brought them in earlier this week.</p>
<p>Looking at their ownership from Monday to Tuesday, a fair few people made a move for their single game day. Hwang’s top 1,000 ownership went from 9.1% to 35.3%, Cunha 0.7% to 5.6% and Sa 1.1% to 5.2%.</p>

<h3>Wednesday and Thursday games</h3>
<p>There are a host of games on Wednesday but when Liverpool and City play, I don’t tend to look elsewhere.</p>
<p>Liverpool travel to Sheffield United, while City play Aston Villa at Villa park. Salah, Haaland and even a Liverpool defender are shouts for the captaincy.</p>
<p>Thursday sees the last two games and they are Everton v Newcastle and Tottenham Hotspur v West Ham.</p>
<p><strong>Son Heung-min (£9.7m)</strong> is still in 67.4% of the top 1,000 teams, so I would imagine he’ll be the most popular captain.</p>
<p><strong>Jarrod Bowen (£8.8m)</strong> is still in 32.9% of the top teams, although he is an injury doubt.</p>
<p>Newcastle have a few popular assets. <strong>Nick Pope (£7.6m) </strong>is in 15.5%, <strong>Kieran Trippier (£9.1m) </strong>in 33.8% and even<strong> Anthony Gordon )(£7.8m)</strong> is in 7.6% and is a player I like the look of.</p>
<p>But I still think Son is the one for Thursday night.</p>
