Anthony Gordon (£6.1m) went off injured in the Chelsea v Newcastle match on Monday (March 11)  &#8211; but what&#8217;s the latest on his fitness and is he now a sell in Fantasy Premier League (FPL)?

<h2>What happened to Gordon? What&#8217;s the latest on his fitness?</h2>
Gordon was forced off in the first half of Newcastle&#8217;s 3-2 loss to Chelsea after struggling with a knee problem.
He was briefly examined by the Magpies&#8217; medical team but was seen to recoil in pain and hold his knee as the physio bent his leg.
Speaking after the game, Newcastle manager Eddie Howe expressed concern. He said:
<blockquote>&#8220;We&#8217;re not sure what the diagnosis is with Anthony. He&#8217;s got a knee problem, he said it was a pain he just felt come on &#8211; there was no moment or incident that happened, so it was just gradual.
&#8220;He&#8217;s in a bit of pain so we fear it&#8217;s not looking too good but it&#8217;s very early days so let&#8217;s see. It was a huge moment in the game to lose him because he&#8217;s been so good this year, so consistent with his performances. It&#8217;s another psychological blow for the players.&#8221;</blockquote>
There have been conflicting rumours over the seriousness of Gordon&#8217;s injury since, however the <a href="https://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/newcastle-star-anthony-gordon-receives-28806990">Newcastle Chronicle</a> has reported it is &#8216;not as bad as first feared&#8217;.

It is not the first time Gordon owners have had an injury scare this season.
They expected him to miss out against Nottingham Forest in Gameweek 24, only to see him start and play a full 90 minutes.
Howe said he had not trained ahead of the game and later denied misleading journalists with his comments.
But updates from Howe on his condition may be taken with a pinch of salt by skeptical FPL managers as a result.
<h2>Should Gordon be sold in FPL?</h2>
Gordon has been one of the best budget picks of the season, scoring nine goals and assisting eight.
He has been particularly strong when playing at home, with 14 of his 17 goal involvements coming at St James&#8217; Park, and he has blanked just once in front of the Toon Army.
The midfielder has featured in all but one of Newcastle&#8217;s league games, missing out against West Ham in Gameweek 8.
Reliable returns make him a tough sell without definitive confirmation of a lengthy absence.

Blank Gameweek 29 could come at a perfect time for many of his owners.
Those on a Free Hit in particular have the luxury of delaying a decision, given Newcastle do not have a fixture in the blank.
There should be two press conferences from Eddie Howe before the Gameweek 30 deadline &#8211; as well as an FA Cup tie on Saturday &#8211; to assess the situation.
Non-free hitters have a more difficult decision, although they may have been looking to move Gordon on for a Blank Gameweek 29 player anyway.
The schedule for Double Gameweek 34 and 37 may be known by Gameweek 30, so those able to hold Gordon could benefit from doing so.
Newcastle have a chance of doubling in Gameweek 34, which would make the Englishman a useful option if fit.

<h2>Gordon FPL replacements: Gameweek 29 options</h2>
Aston Villa duo Leon Bailey (£5.7m) and Douglas Luiz (£5.7m) top the list of budget midfielders for Blank Gameweek 29.
They are difficult to separate, as highlighted by a mere 0.3 difference in their <a href="https://www.fantasyfootballhub.co.uk/predictions">predicted points</a> in the blank, with Bailey slightly ahead.
Luiz offers greater expected minutes, completing 90 minutes in five of his last six games. Bailey has stayed on the pitch past 80 minutes just twice in that time.
Set-pieces and penalties are an important part of his appeal, giving him the edge for expected goals (xG), expected points and actual points per appearance.
Bailey is ahead on expected assists (xA) per appearance and edges past Luiz for xG when taking penalties out of the mix.
It comes down to how long he can stay on the pitch &#8211; and if fancied to play the majority of the game, Bailey could be the higher-upside pick of the two &#8211; but Luiz has shown his ability to haul on more than one occasion.

Anthony Elanga (£5.1m) has five goals and seven assists for Nottingham Forest this season.
He faces Luton away in Blank Gameweek 29 &#8211; and the fixtures look good for Forest from Gameweek 30. They rank second to Chelsea on the Hub ticker from Gameweek 30-33.

<h2>Gordon FPL replacements: Gameweek 30 and beyond</h2>
Options from Gameweek 30 could be heavily influenced by how the double gameweek fixtures fall.
But up to Gameweek 33 &#8211; the week before the next double &#8211; two midfielders priced at £6.5m and below currently better Gordon&#8217;s predicted points.
Cole Palmer (£5.7m) leads the way, with games against Burnley, Manchester United and Sheffield United.
The 11 goal, nine assist Chelsea star is in 32% of teams, so a portion of Gordon owners may already own him.

Eberechi Eze (£6.0m) is much more of a differential, in 3.1% of teams. With six goals and two assists in 18 games, staying fit is key to the Crystal Palace player&#8217;s success.
Eze has been involved in a third of Palace&#8217;s goals while he&#8217;s been on the pitch this season and is on penalties and set-pieces for the Eagles.
Oliver Glasner&#8217;s side do have one of the toughest fixture runs between Gameweek 30 and 33 though, ranking 19th on the <a href="https://www.fantasyfootballhub.co.uk/fixture-ticker">Hub ticker</a>.
Alejandro Garnacho (£5.0m) offers an additional saving, which may help FPL managers finance the return of Mohamed Salah (£13.0m).
The Manchester United winger has more shots in the box among budget midfielders &#8211; 52 &#8211; 16 more than Gordon in second.
Chelsea and Liverpool fixtures in Gameweek 31 and 32 might make him a leading option for a space on FPL managers&#8217; benches, however the Red Devils have a potential Gameweek 34 double.
Here&#8217;s how the predicted points for Gameweek 30-33 shape up. The premium picks dominate, although several budget options feature in the top 20 for midfielders.
