<h2>Arsenal stats and best players</h2>
<p>Arsenal's title-challenging season started with strong foundations at the back.</p>
<p>No team conceded fewer goals, while their expected goals conceded (xGC) was also the best in the league.</p>
<p>Couple this with being almost equally superb going forward and it's easy to see how they pushed Manchester City so close.</p>
<p>The Gunners were unbeaten in their first 10 league games, a run which included beating City 1-0.</p>
<p>They lost four of their next 10, including two in a row against West Ham and Fulham, but they were defeated just once in their last 18 matches.</p>
<p>And they won big in this period, with 5-0 victories over Crystal Palace, Burnley and Chelsea and 6-0 thrashings of West Ham and Sheffield United.</p>
<p>Only City scored more than the Gunners' 91 goals, although both teams finished on the same goal difference.</p>

<h3>2023/24 season best players</h3>
<p>Although they came away without silverware, Arsenal players scored the most FPL points.</p>
<p><strong>Bukayo Saka </strong>led the way, with 16 goals and 12 assists. He often looked to be struggling with injuries and was frequently seen hobbling off the pitch.</p>
<p>The England international caused plenty of headaches for fantasy managers, with speculation over whether he would make various games.  He missed just three matches however and was heavily relied upon by Mikel Arteta.</p>
<p>Arsenal brought in <strong>Kai Havertz </strong>and <strong>Declan Rice </strong>last summer and both became important players.</p>
<p>Havertz displayed the promise expected of him when he left the Bundesliga for Chelsea, contributing 13 goals and 10 assists.</p>
<p>Rice meanwhile was not seen as a top pick in FPL but managed 16 goal involvements, the fourth best total in the squad.</p>
<p>Defenders <strong>Gabriel</strong>, <strong>William Saliba </strong>and <strong>Ben White</strong> were all superb fantasy picks, with White ending on the most goal involvements.</p>
<p>A bumper Double Gameweek 34 saw White earn 26 FPL points, scoring two goals in the process.</p>
