Gameweek 7 has some really favourable fixtures for forwards. There has been a lot of striker options firing this season, too many in fact! From premiums to budgets they have been performing and there is some great value in the forward position this year. As always we will look at the fixtures for the current Gameweek and pick the best strikers based on their fixture, form, and underlying stats.

<h3>Harry Kane (£10.9m) – Spurs</h3>
Fixture: Brighton (H)
Harry Kane has simply been phenomenal this season. A lot of managers seem to think the ‘old Harry’ is back but I think we are seeing a new Harry; a new and improved version we haven’t seen before.  He has been directly involved in 13 goals this season, the most ever recorded by a player in his team's first six Premier League games of a campaign (five goals, eight assists). That is astonishing form and his underlying stats back up his output also. He is matching and in some metrics bettering Mohamed Salah (£12.4m) in his underlying numbers with 29 Shots (1st), 13 Shots on Target (1st), 19 Shots on the Box (2nd) and six Big Chances (1st). His creativity is the best it’s ever been also with 14 Chances Created (5th), and eight Big Chances (1st).
The England captain's form seems to be mirroring his teams also as they are currently the most attacking team in the league. Spurs have scored the most goals (16), had 41 Shots on Target (2nd), 59 Shots in the Box (3rd), and 21 Big Chances (2nd). They have also created the most Big Chances (17).

Tottenham come up against Brighton at home in Gameweek 7 with the Seagulls having had a bit of a mixed start to the season. After their impressive 3-0 win over Newcastle United in Gameweek 2, they haven’t won a league game since with two losses and two draws. As I mentioned in the <a href="https://cms.fantasyfootballhub.co.uk/best-midfielders-for-gameweek-7-fantasy-premier-league-tips/">Gameweek 7 Best Midfielders</a> article they actually have the best defensive numbers in the league and they face a team with the best attack. Although their defensive numbers are impressive I don’t see them holding Spurs back with the form Harry Kane and Heung-Min Son are in. They are forming a lethal partnership and seem to be absolutely fixture-proof just now.

<h3>Timo Werner (£9.3m) – Chelsea</h3>

The new Chelsea striker finally managed to bag his first Premier League goals in Gameweek 5 against the Saints. He scored two goals and an assist and bagged a nice 16 point haul rewarding those who kept faith in the German. Chelsea overall have underwhelmed so far this season as a lot of fantasy managers had high expectations from them with their array of talented signings. However, injuries and match fitness kept them from playing together but they now seem to be getting up to speed.
Werner seems to have found his shooting boots properly too and an interesting development emerged midweek in their Champions League encounter with Krasnodar. They ran away 4-0 winners with Werner grabbing a goal and an assist and Hakim Ziyech (£7.9m) and Christian Pulisic (£8.3m) scored too which would have pleased manager Frank Lampard. The real big news though was that Werner’s goal was a penalty which he took as Jorginho (£5.3m) missed one earlier in the game. Admittedly he wasn’t on the pitch at the time as he was substituted off but this is definitely something to monitor as if Timo has claimed spot-kick duties then this makes him a much better option than he already was.

Werner’s stats have been good too with 15 Shots, six Shots on Target, 13 Shots in the Box and two Big Chances and he is only going to get more chances with the rest of the midfield now back fit and him playing up top. He comes up against Burnley who still sit bottom of the league with only one point and look a shadow of the side they have in previous seasons. It’s a good fixture for Timo Werner to kick on and Chelsea’s next three fixtures are really favourable (bur, SHU, new) so he’s a good option for the foreseeable also.

<h3>Aleksandar Mitrović (£5.8m)</h3>
Fixture: West Brom (H)
The Serbian is a proven goal scorer in the Premier League. His last stint in the top flight saw him grab 11 goals and four assists with Fulham in 2018-19. He is a nailed starter, on penalties, gets 90 minutes every time he plays and at a starting price of £6.0m you can’t really ask for much more; he has been a frustrating own for fantasy managers though. Although he has managed two goals, he did miss a penalty in Gameweek 5 and has missed many big chances, including some real sitters, which has seen him blank in his last four games and his price fall to £5.8m. His underlying numbers are actually one of the best in the league with 26 Shots (3rd), 8 Shots on Target (6th), 22 Shots in the Box (1st) and five Big Chances (4th). In addition, he has also created five Chances and one Big Chance; for a sub-£6.0m striker playing for one of the worst sides in the league, these stats are insane and tell me more goals are to come.

He is Fulham’s talisman and it should be reassuring for owners seeing his stats even though it’s been a frustrating and unfortunate run he is on. He won’t get a better chance this season to restart his goal-scoring run than in Gameweek 7 when they come against fellow promotion rivals West Brom who have been one of the worst sides defensively in the league so far. They have conceded 51 Shots in the Box (17th), 38 Shots on Target (18th), and 15 Big Chances (19th) and have the second-worst xGC with 12.07. Saying that, one of the teams who are actually worse than them is Fulham but the Baggies don’t have a striker of Mitrovic’s quality. I can see this game being high scoring with both teams poor at the back and if Fulham score you have to back that Mitrovic will be involved. Also as you can see from our <a href="https://cms.fantasyfootballhub.co.uk/fixture-ticker/">Fixture Ticker</a> above, Fulham have the best game attacking wise.

<h3>Patrick Bamford (£5.9m) – Leeds United</h3>
Fixture: Leicester City (H)
Bamford is another budget striker who has been making a mockery out of his price tag. He started the season at £5.5m and has risen by £0.4m. The Leeds United forward came into the Premier League with a reputation of being a very poor finisher with 34 Big Chances missed in the Championship last season. He did manage to score 16 goals still but his form in the Premier League this season seems to have caught everyone by surprise. With six goals and 2 assists in his first six games, he and Leeds United have looked amazing this season. Marcelo Bielsa really seems to have transformed him into a good player and he seems to be thriving in that team. His hatrick against Aston Villa was remarkably the sixth one we have seen this season and we have only played six games.

Patrick Bamford's underlying numbers are also very impressive. He has managed 23 Shots (3rd), 11 Shots on Target (3rd), 20 Shots in the Box (2nd) and five Big Chances (4th). At a starting price of £5.5m these numbers are ridiculously good. Also Leeds United are such a quality, well-drilled team that I don’t see this form being a flash in the pan. They have not been out-possessioned once this season despite playing both Liverpool and Manchester City.
Leicester City is by no means an easy fixture but as we know Leeds play high tempo, possession football whereas the Fox's play deep with a lot of men behind the ball and look to break. Therefore I can see the Whites creating a lot of chances in this game and Bamford is the focal point in their attack so should see plenty of chances too. With the form, he is in and the underlying stays he is putting I really fancy him for Gameweek 7.

<h3>Ollie Watkins (£6.0m) – Aston Villa</h3>

Ollie Watkins looks to be a steal at his price. He surprised everyone with his hattrick and assist against Liverpool in Gameweek 4 but that was the only match his returns have come in. His first game was in Gameweek 2 and since then he has managed an impressive 13 Shots, five Shots on Target, 13 Shots in the Box and six Big Chances, as well as creating seven Chances himself. Since Gameweek 4 though he has only managed three Shots, one Shot on Target and three Shots in the Box however these were against Leicester away in which they won a tight game and Leeds United at home in which they were totally outplayed.

I believe Villa will react positively to this defeat and will be eager to get their form back on track. Looking at Watkins' goal-scoring history he has 49 goals and 17 assists in 143 appearances for Brentford so we know he has an eye for goal. He also now plays for a much better team with players like Jack Grealish (£7.3m) and Ross Barkley (£6.0m) around him so his service will be as good as he’s ever had. I believe he will be one of the top-scoring budget options this season and it's only a matter of time before he starts scoring again. His overall stats and history tell me the goals will come and Aston Villa have shown they are not a Championship side anymore but a decent Premier League outfit. He has a good opportunity with a home game against Southampton in Gameweek 7 to add to his tally.
