<h2><strong>Best FPL captain for Double Gameweek 25: The candidates</strong></h2>
<p>Last week, we backed <strong>Mohamed Salah </strong>and suggested it was the perfect opportunity to use the Triple Captain chip. Boy, did he deliver!</p>
<p>But a last-minute announcement of a Double Gameweek 25 prompted many managers to use their Assistant Manager chip instead.</p>
<p>This week, it once again seems Salah is the best pick. He consistently performs and, with the double in play, it is arguably no-brainer.</p>
<p>In this article, we objectively examine if Salah actually is the top option and offer insights on whether you should invest a transfer in a Bournemouth or Aston Villa attacker.</p>
<p>These are the main candidates this week:</p>

<li><strong>Mohamed Salah</strong> v Wolves (H) and Aston Villa (A)</li>
<li><strong>Justin Kluivert</strong> v Southampton (A)</li>
<li><strong>Morgan Rogers</strong> v Ipswich (H) and Liverpool (H)</li>
<li><strong>Marcus Rashford</strong> v Ipswich (H) and Liverpool (H)</li>
<li><strong>Cole Palmer </strong>v Brighton (A)</li>

<p>It’s always difficult to back someone else against a doubler but two games doesn’t always lead to more points.</p>
<p>There is a chance<strong> Ollie Watkins</strong> will be back for the double but given he’s only just returned from injury, it’s unlikely he will feature for anywhere near 180 minutes.</p>

<h2 style="text-align: left;">Best FPL captain for Double Gameweek 25: Players' records</h2>
<p>Here are some notable records for our captaincy candidates:</p>
<p><strong>Palmer</strong> - Scored four in the reverse fixture and has never blanked against Brighton.</p>
<p><strong>Salah </strong>- Blanked the last home game against Wolves but that was his only non-return in his last four against them. Similarly, he blanked his last away game against Villa but that was the only time in the last five.</p>
<p><strong>Rogers </strong>- Scored in the reverse fixture against Ipswich.</p>
<p>We can’t really evaluate Rashford’s record given it was for Manchester United.</p>
<p>For the purposes of the metric, I will give the top two in the table equal weighting given the sample size.</p>
<h3><strong>Other candidates</strong></h3>
<p>If he was fit, he’d be the obvious Villa captaincy candidate and therefore we’ve included his record just in case.</p>
<p><strong>Watkins </strong>- Hauled against Ipswich in the reverse fixture. He blanked in the reverse fixture against Liverpool but has returned in the previous two home games.</p>
