<p>It could arguably have been quite different if Newcastle hadn’t gone down to 10 men and ultimately, we didn’t blank.</p>

<p>Here are some notable records for our captaincy candidates:</p>
<p>Salah has only blanked against Brentford once and that was away. He returned twice in both games last season.</p>
<p>Eze returned in each of his last three games against West Ham, including a double-digit haul at home last season.</p>
<p>Isak was injured for the Bournemouth games last season but scored at home against them the season prior.</p>
<p>Saka blanked both games last season.</p>
