<h2><strong>Best FPL captain for Gameweek 37: The candidates</strong></h2>
<p>Last week, <strong>Bryan Mbeumo</strong> was our pick and despite not hauling, he at least returned which was a lot better than some of the other popular choices.</p>
<p>The premium players haven’t been returning lately, which leaves us with a conundrum this week. Do we keep going with the expensive options or pay closer attention to the mid-priced picks?</p>
<p>We usually go with five but this week I’ve expanded my list to include some more of the mid-priced options. The candidates for this week are:</p>

<li><strong>Cole Palmer</strong> v Manchester United (H)</li>
<li><strong>Mohamed Salah</strong> v Brighton (A)</li>

<li><strong>Jarrod Bowen</strong> v Nottingham Forest (H)</li>
<li><strong>Eberechi Eze</strong> v Wolves (H)</li>

<h2 style="text-align: left;">Best FPL captain for Gameweek 37: The fixtures</h2>
<p>Watch out, it’s a Friday deadline.</p>
<p>We won't get any leaks on Manchester City and Crystal Palace players, while the only teams with something to play for now are those chasing European places.</p>
<p>When it comes to seeking out hauls, it’s often better to target the teams with nothing to play for as the games tend to be more open. Palace v Wolves could fit the bill.</p>

<h2 style="text-align: left;">Best FPL captain for Gameweek 37: Players' records</h2>
<p>Here are some notable records for our captaincy candidates:</p>
<p><strong>Palmer</strong> - Scored a hat-trick at home against United last season but blanked in the reverse fixture.</p>
<p><strong>Salah</strong> - Has only blanked once in the previous seven against Brighton. He braced last time he played them away.</p>
<p><strong>Eze</strong> - Only blanked once, away to Wolves, two seasons ago. He's scarily consistent against them.</p>
<p><strong>Watkins</strong> - Blanked in his last two against Spurs and has never scored against them at home.</p>
<p><strong>Haaland </strong>- Has a terrible record against Bournemouth and has not returned in his last three starts.</p>
<p><strong>Bowen</strong> - Did not score or assist in the previous two against Forest but both games were away. He's returned in two out of two home games against them.</p>
<p><strong>Mbeumo </strong>- Blanked in his last two starts against Fulham. He scored twice away against them last season.</p>
