            <p>Fantasy Football Hub's resident Fantasy Premier League (FPL) captaincy expert <a href="https://twitter.com/ChrisTanFPL">Chris Tan</a> takes a close look at the key fixtures and best FPL captain options for Gameweek 8.</p>
<p>Last week <strong>Erling Haaland (£15.4m)</strong> was the clear leader, but he blanked against Fulham.</p>
<p>We were aware of the Cottagers' defensive solidity, however we felt that City would have too much for them at home. What we saw in the end was that City lacked creativity without utilising two “out and out” wingers and/or <strong>Kevin De Bruyne (£9.4m)</strong>.</p>
<p>That’s the main difference between the high flying City that started the season and the current iteration. This is something we need to factor into our thoughts.</p>
<p>Second choice <strong>Bukayo Saka (£10.1m)</strong> crushed it (albeit a little fortunately). Surprisingly, his ownership is relatively low and you would have still got a jump from his points even without captaining him. Anyone that did back him probably got a big green arrow.</p>
<p>This week, it’s between these two again with Haaland likely to dominate effective ownership. Read on to find out which way you should go this time.</p>

<p>Here are some notable records for our captaincy candidates:</p>
<p><strong>Haaland</strong> - scored four in the last home game and got a hat trick in the home game the previous season. He's less prolific away, having blanked last season and only scoring one the year before.</p>
<p><strong>Watkins </strong>- braced away last season and scored at home.</p>
<p><strong>Salah</strong> - doesn't have the best record against his former employer but has only blanked one home game.</p>
<p><strong>Solanke</strong>* - scored against West Ham in both matches last season (for Bournemouth).</p>
<p><strong>Saka</strong> - scored in both games last season and they're given the most weighting due to the recency.</p>
<p>Here are some notable records for some of the other options:</p>
<p><strong>Son</strong> - blanked both games last season but returned in the previous four home matches.</p>
<p><strong>Havertz </strong>- scored in the away game last season via a penalty.</p>
<p><strong>Mbeumo </strong>- scored in his last home start against United.</p>
