<h2><strong>Best FPL captain for Gameweek 22: The candidates</strong></h2>
<p>Last week there were quite a few reasonable candidates but <strong>Alexander Isak</strong> topped our poll and he duly rewarded with a 16 point haul, which illustrates how successful our process has been.</p>
<p>This week, we have a similar dilemma with all of the big three being viable choices. Which one should you go for?</p>

<p>Here are some notable records for our captaincy candidates:</p>
<p><strong>Haaland</strong> - Bagged a hat-trick in the reverse fixture.</p>
<p><strong>Palmer</strong> - Picked up a monster return in the reverse fixture this season.</p>
<p><strong>Salah</strong> - Has returned six times in the last four matches against Brentford without any blanks.</p>
<p><strong>Fernandes </strong>- Started off with a great record against Brighton, however he's blanked in the previous six match-ups.</p>
<p><strong>Isak</strong> - Has never scored away against Bournemouth but luckily for him, he's at home this week.</p>
<p>For the metric, I will weight the top three equally given the different sample sizes.</p>

<p>The stats are filtered 'per start' for the individual players and 'per appearance' for the team stats over the last six gameweeks. These were taken prior to the final match of the gameweek, as it has minimal implications on captaincy.</p>
