<h2 style="text-align: left;">The Best FPL Defenders for Double Gameweek 26</h2>

<h3><strong>Trent Alexander Arnold (£8.5m) – Liverpool</strong></h3>
<p><strong>Fixture: Norwich (H) and Leeds United (H)</strong></p>
<p><strong>Trent Alexander-Arnold</strong> has now amassed an impressive 12 clean sheets, two goals, and 10 assists this season. He comfortably sits as the top scoring defender in the game (156 points) and is well on course to beat his best 210 points total in the 2019/20 season.</p>
<p>Liverpool have a very generous Double in Gameweek 26 as they welcome Norwich and Leeds United to Anfield. Dean Smith’s men have only managed 14 goals (20<sup>th</sup>) with an xG of 20.8 (20<sup>th</sup>) which makes them the worst attacking side in the league.</p>
<p>The Whites will put up a much better fight but I still don’t see them causing the Reds many problems. They have scored 27 goals  (14<sup>th</sup>) with an xG of 31.8 (11<sup>th</sup>). At the same point last season they had scored 43 goals (5<sup>th</sup>) with an xG of 42.7 (5<sup>th</sup>) so have clearly struggled this campaign.</p>
<p>Also, Jurgen Klopp’s men have been a formidable defence, conceding only 19 goals (4<sup>th</sup>) with an xGC of 24.9 (2<sup>nd</sup>). They are also the clear favourites to keep a clean sheet this week according to the bookmakers. They have a 60% chance against the Canaries and 51% against Leeds and a massive 80% chance to keep at least one clean sheet this gameweek.</p>
<p>This is a <a href="https://cms.fantasyfootballhub.co.uk/fixture-ticker/">fantastic fixture</a> for Trent from both a defensive and attacking viewpoint. He has 12 attacking returns already and plays two teams who are poor both in defence and attack.</p>
<p>If it wasn’t for his Egyptian teammate he would be the top captaincy option for Double Gameweek 26 for sure. He can score, assist, and is on almost all the set-pieces.</p>
<p>Our <a href="https://cms.fantasyfootballhub.co.uk/predictions/">Points Prediction Tool</a> has him as the clear favourite to score the most points (14.3) amongst defenders for Double Gameweek 26.</p>

<h3><strong>Andrew Robertson (7.1m) – Liverpool</strong></h3>
<p><strong>Fixture: Norwich (H) and Leeds United (H)</strong></p>
<p>Andy Robertson has been great in the second half of the season. After a slow start with only one assist up until Gameweek 12, he has since registered one goal and seven assists. Since Gameweek 13 he has an xG of 1.00 and has created 31 Chances with an xA of 3.45 (1<sup>st</sup> amongst defenders).</p>
<p>He has also made the most assists from all players (7) in that time.</p>
<p>As mentioned above, Liverpool have a fantastic set of fixtures for their double this week. Therefore, it’s more than justifiable with going with both the full-backs for this double, given how good they are in defence and going forward.</p>
<p>The Scotsman has shown his attacking prowess with three goals and 32 assists in just his last three seasons with the Reds and he is also registering attacking returns this season.</p>
<p>His <a href="https://cms.fantasyfootballhub.co.uk/opta/">attacking stats</a> and output have seen a visible increase over the second half of this campaign.</p>
<p>From Gameweek 1 to 13 (9 games) he had an xG of 0.26 and created 18 Chances with an xA of 1.76. Whereas from Gameweek 13 to 22 (10 games) he had an xG of 1.00 and created 31 Chances with an xA of 3.45 (1<sup>st</sup> overall).</p>
<p>It’s no surprise that our <a href="https://cms.fantasyfootballhub.co.uk/predictions/">Points Prediction Tool</a> ranks him as the second highest predicted scoring defender (11.9 points) for Double Gameweek 26.</p>

<h3><strong>Kieran Tierney (£5.1m) – Arsenal</strong></h3>
<p><strong>Fixture: Brentford (H) and Wolves (H)</strong></p>
<p>Kieran Tierney has also enjoyed a very fruitful second half of the season after a slow start. Since coming back from injury in Gameweek 15 he has registered one goal and three assists.</p>
<p>The North London club have a great double in Gameweek 26 - especially defensively as they take on Brentford and Wolves at home. Both teams have struggled in front of goal this season. The Bees have scored 26 goals (15<sup>th</sup>) with an xG of 31.5 (12<sup>th</sup>).</p>
<p>Wolves have scored 21 goals (18<sup>th</sup>) with an xG of 27.3 (16<sup>th</sup>) and have been one of the worst attacking sides in the league.</p>
<p>Arsenal have now kept 11 clean sheets (3<sup>rd</sup>) behind only Manchester City and Liverpool. They have conceded 25 goals (6<sup>th</sup>) with an xGC of 30.2 (7th). They seem to be improving more and more as the season goes on and I wouldn’t be surprised at all with back-to-back clean sheets for them here.</p>
<p>The Gunners are also only behind Liverpool for clean sheet chances for <a href="https://cms.fantasyfootballhub.co.uk/double-gameweek-26-announced/">Double Gameweek 26</a> according to the bookmakers. They are priced at 55% to keep a clean sheet against Brentford and 45% against Wolves. This means that they have a 75% chance of keeping at least one clean sheet.</p>
<p>Kieran Tierney seems to be fit now which has been a problem for him over the years. He has started every game since Gameweek 15 and is clearly the first choice. The Scotsman is also the one most likely to pick up attacking returns in that Arsenal defence.</p>

<h3><strong>Conor Coady (£4.7m) – Wolves</strong></h3>
<p><strong>Fixture: Leicester City (H) and Arsenal (a)</strong></p>
<p>Conor Coady looks another solid option for Double Gameweek 26. The centre-back is nailed to start in that Wolves team. He has started every game this season and has even managed to score two goals with 7 Shots in the Box and an xG of 1.36.</p>
<p>Wolves play both Leicester City (H) and Arsenal (a) in Double Gameweek 26. This may seem like a <a href="https://cms.fantasyfootballhub.co.uk/fixture-ticker/">difficult set of fixtures</a> on paper and in a way it is, as both sides are good attacking sides. However, Wolves' defensive record has been immense this season. They have only conceded 17 goals (2<sup>nd</sup>) with an xGC of 30.1 (6<sup>th</sup>). They really are good at the back and don’t give away many goals.</p>
<p>The bookmakers have them at 36% to keep a clean sheet against Leicester and 25% against the Gunners, which means they have a 52% chance of keeping at least one clean sheet. They have kept nine clean sheets this season and have only conceded more than one goal in a game three times.</p>
<p>They don’t concede many chances at all and I would be really confident in at least one clean sheet here for Bruno Lage’s men.</p>
<p>Coady might not be the most exciting option but what he does provide is security of starts, which none of the other Wolves defenders do. He is also at a very attractive price of £4.7m and he has a decent run of<a href="https://cms.fantasyfootballhub.co.uk/fixture-ticker/"> fixtures until the end of the season</a>.</p>

<h3><strong>Marc Cucurella (£5.1m) – Brighton</strong></h3>
<p><strong>Fixture: Burnley (H)</strong></p>
<p>Marc Cucurella is another one who is absolutely nailed for his team. He has been one of the most attacking defenders for Brighton, creating 28 Chances with an xA of 1.78. Also, the Seagulls are another side who have impressed defensively and do not concede many chances or goals.</p>
<p>Brighton have a single fixture in Double Gameweek 26 but a very plum one. They play Burnley who really do struggle to score goals. The Clarets have only managed to muster 17 goals (19<sup>th</sup>) with an xGC of 21.0 (19<sup>th</sup>).</p>
<p>Furthermore, Brighton have conceded only 23 goals (5<sup>th</sup>) with an xGC of 28.6 (4<sup>th</sup>). They really are a great defensive team and a clean sheet here looks likely for Graham Potters men.</p>
<p>Cucurella also possesses attacking threat down that left-wing so is the best defensive asset for them when you consider that and his expected minutes. He has eight goals and 20 assists in his career and should well pick up some more attacking returns this season.</p>
<p>Brighton are the third favourites to keep a clean sheet in Double Gameweek 26 also at 48%.</p>
