<h2 style="text-align: left;">Who are the Best FPL Defenders For Double Gameweek 22?</h2>

<h3>Emerson Royal (£4.9m) – Spurs</h3>
Fixture: Arsenal (H) &amp; Leicester City (a)
Emerson Royal looks to be one of the most nailed defenders for Spurs. He has started every game (when fit) under Antonio Conte and has clearly been a lot more attacking down that right side. He has created the most chances (17) from the Spurs defence since Conte took over with an xA of 0.91 (2nd amongst Spurs defenders).
Tottenham come up against both Arsenal (H) and Leicester City (a) in Double Gameweek 22. Although this may seem a tough set of fixtures defensively, Spurs have been very good at the back.
Over the season they have only conceded 20 goals (5th) with an xGC of 21.2 (3rd). Also since the arrival of Conte in Gameweek 11 they have actually conceded the least goals (4) and have the best xGC at 5.7.
I see Royal as a great option this week as firstly he has been very attacking and is playing much further up the field, almost as a right-winger. Secondly, he is more nailed than fellow full-back Sergio Reguilon, who although has better attacking stats, does have Ryan Sessegnon as competition who is now back from injury. Matt Doherty can play in Emerson’s position but I think it’s a lot less likely.
Antonio Conte is well known for shoring up his defences and getting his full-backs bombing forward and he seems to have done the same with Spurs who are getting better with every game.
The North London club are at 29% to keep a clean sheet in each of their games for Double Gameweek 22 according to the bookmakers and Royal is also at 59% for anytime returns according to our <a href="https://cms.fantasyfootballhub.co.uk/predictions/">Points Prediction Tool.</a>

<h3>Trent Alexander Arnold (£8.4m) – Liverpool</h3>
Fixture: Brentford (H)
Trent Alexander-Arnold now has two goals and nine assists and is the second highest scoring player in the game. He has 9 Shots in the Box with an xG of 2.02 and has also created 66 Chances (1st overall) with an xA of 6.64 (2nd overall).
To be registering those kinds of stats as a defender is just phenomenal and makes him a must-have FPL asset.
Liverpool are among the teams who do not have a double in Gameweek 22. They play Brentford (H) and this looks a great fixture for them from both an attacking and defensive point which of course bodes well for Trent.
The Bees have scored 23 goals (13th) with an xG of 24.7 (11th) which puts them around midtable. However, the Reds’ have been solid defensively this season and Brentford will do very well to get anything against them. They have conceded 18 goals (4th) with an xGC of 21.1 (2nd).
Liverpool are also the favourites to keep a clean sheet (50%) in Double Gameweek 22 and with the Englishman's attacking prowess I think he is still among the best defenders for this week.
He is on <a href="https://cms.fantasyfootballhub.co.uk/?post_type=post&amp;p=11173">corners and free-kicks</a> also and is the second highest predicted scoring defender (5.3) among those who only have a single fixture according to the <a href="https://cms.fantasyfootballhub.co.uk/predictions/">Points Prediction Tool.</a>

<h3>Marcos Alonso (£5.7m) – Chelsea</h3>
Fixture: Manchester City (a) &amp; Brighton (a)
Marcos Alonso has one goal and three assists in 14 league starts for Chelsea. He has 11 Shots in the Box with an xG of 1.51 and has also created 27 Chances with an xA of 2.80. This makes him the best defensive asset for Chelsea at the moment with Reece James out injured.
Chelsea have a Double Gameweek of two halves this week as they take on Manchester City (a) and Brighton (a). City are fantastic going forward and have now scored the most goals in the league (53) with an xG of 49.7 (2nd). The Seagulls on the other hand have only scored 20 goals (16th) with an xG of 23.3 (13th).
The Blues have one of the strongest defences and attacks in the league. They have only conceded 16 goals (3rd) with an xGC of 23.5 (4th). And going forward they have scored 45 goals (3rd) with an xG of 41.5 (2nd). Therefore I think Alonso is a good option this week despite the game against the league leaders.
He has plenty of attacking threat and is also on <a href="https://cms.fantasyfootballhub.co.uk/?post_type=post&amp;p=11173">corners and free kicks.</a>
According to the bookmakers, Chelsea have an 18% chance of a clean sheet against Manchester City and a 44% chance against Brighton which puts them as second favourites.

<h3>James Tarkowski (£4.9m) – Burnley</h3>
Fixture: Leicester City (H) &amp; Watford (H)
Burnley haven't had the best of seasons as they sit in 18th position. Their problems seem to lie more in the final third rather than defence though. They have conceded 27 goals (8th) with an xGC of 29.0 (10th).
The Clarets come up against Leicester City (H) and Watford (H) in Double Gameweek 22. Their fixture against the Foxes will be tough, however with them missing the likes of Jamie Vardy and Kelechi Iheanacho they may well have a chance.
The game against the Hornets will be the one they will be desperate to win in this relegation six-pointer. With Burnley being at home they will be favourites for this one and a clean sheet would be no surprise at all.
Claudio Ranieri’s men have scored 22 goals (14th) with an xG of 22.7 (15th). They are in the bottom five for attack according to the stats.
James Tarkowski and Burnley have their best chance at a clean sheet in a long while this week and the bookies have them at 25% for a shut-out against Leicester and 35% against Watford.
Tarkowski is nailed to start and also has the best attacking stats amongst the Burnley defence. He has created 14 Shots in the Box with an xG of 2.14 (4th amongst all defenders). Also our <a href="https://cms.fantasyfootballhub.co.uk/fixture-ticker/">Fixture Ticker</a> rates Sean Dyches men as the best from a defensive point of view over the two games.

<h3>Marc Cucurella (£5.1m) – Brighton</h3>
Fixture: Crystal Palace (H) &amp; Chelsea (H)
Marc Cucurella has started every game for Brighton since joining. He has created 22 Chances with an xA of 1.19 (1st among Brighton defenders)
They have kept six clean sheets, have conceded 20 goals conceded (5th) and have an xGC of 25.0 (6th). They have been a solid defensive side this season.
The Seagulls also have a Gameweek of two halves as they face Crystal Palace (H) and Chelsea (H). Palace have scored 29 goals (9th) with an xG of 27.4 (8th) whereas the Blues have scored 45 goals with an xG of 41.5 (3rd).
However, with Brighton not conceding too many goals and Cucurella’s attacking stats he could be a very good pick this week. They will of course do very well to keep Chelsea at bay but a home game against Palace is a prime fixture for a clean sheet.
Also, Graham Potters team are third favourites to keep a clean sheet (40%) in their first fixture against the Eagles and at a modest 20% against Chelsea.
