<h2 style="text-align: left;">Who are the Best FPL Defenders For Gameweek 6?</h2>
<h2>Trent Alexander Arnold (£7.6m) – Liverpool</h2>
Fixture: Brentford (a)
The England right-back missed out last week due to illness but reports suggest he should be back fit for Gameweek 6. He has two assists and three clean sheets and has registered 20 Chances Created (1st), 4 Big Chances (1st) and an xA of 2.37 (1st).
What is quite staggering is that he is first among these creation metrics among all players, despite missing out in Gameweek 5.
Liverpool come up against promoted Brentford in Gameweek 6. The Reds are the second favourites to keep a clean sheet this week at 45%, and also the favourites to score 2.5+ goals (48%). This bodes really well for Alexander-Arnold for this week. We know he has plenty of attacking threat as well as being in a very good defensive team.
Although the Bees have been good defensively this season, they have struggled a bit going forward. They have managed 33 Shots in the Box (17th), 12 Shots on Target (19th) and an xG of 5.5 (15th).  They pulled off an impressive and unexpected win against Wolves last week but on the whole haven’t looked too convincing.
Alexander-Arnold looks back to his best this season and has a fixture in which FPL returns look very possible at both ends of the pitch. He tops the table for chance creation among all players and is also on <a href="https://cms.fantasyfootballhub.co.uk/?post_type=post&amp;p=11173">corners and direct free-kicks.</a>
Our <a href="https://cms.fantasyfootballhub.co.uk/predictions/">Points Prediction Tool</a> ranks him at 65% for anytime returns (1st) for Gameweek 6 and it's no surprise as he has returned in every game he has played so far.

<h2>Luke Shaw (£5.5m) – Manchester United</h2>
Fixture: Aston Villa (H)
Manchester United welcome Aston Villa to Old Trafford in Gameweek 6. They are the third favourites to keep a clean sheet at 44%.
Luke Shaw hasn’t had the start a lot of his owners had hoped for, but he has been getting forward a fair bit. He's created 14 Chances (3rd among defenders), 3 Big Chances (2nd) and an xA of 1.63 (2nd). Only Trent Alexander-Arnold is ahead of him.
Despite Aston Villa scoring 8 goals (5th), their attacking stats suggest they are over-performing a lot. They have only managed 18 Shots on Target (15th), 33 Shots in the Box (17th), 3 Big Chances (20th) and an xG of 5.3 (16th)
Also, Man United's defensive stats have been decent. They have conceded 27 Shots in the Box (2nd), 19 Shots on Target (4th) and an xGC of 6.1 (7th).
This is a good fixture for Shaw in Gameweek 6 as United are one of the favourites to keep a clean sheet. He gets down that left side often and is also on <a href="https://cms.fantasyfootballhub.co.uk/?post_type=post&amp;p=11173">corners and some free-kicks,</a> so is always in with a chance of attacking returns.
He is the third highest predicted points scorer (4.6) for Gameweek 6 according to our <a href="https://cms.fantasyfootballhub.co.uk/predictions/">Points Prediction Tool</a> and he is also at 57% for anytime returns (3rd).

<h2>Michael Keane (£5.0m) – Everton</h2>
Fixture: Norwich (H)
Everton also have a favourable fixture in Gameweek 6 as Norwich travel up to Goodison Park. The Toffees are also third favourites to keep clean sheet this week at 44%. Despite their 3-0 loss to Aston Villa last week, they do have good defensive stats.
In fact, they've been in the top five sides so far, conceding only 31 Shots in the Box (5th), 19 Shots on Target (4th) and an xGC of 5.3 (5th).
More importantly this week, they face the weakest opposition in the league. Norwich have only managed to score two goals (20th) thus far with 13 Shots on Target (18th), 27 Shots in the Box (19th) and an xG of 4.6 (19th)
Michael Keane has already scored a goal this season with 5 Shots in the Box, 2 On Target and an xG of 0.94. He has five goals and one assist in his last two seasons so does carry goal threat and is a danger from <a href="https://cms.fantasyfootballhub.co.uk/?post_type=post&amp;p=11173">set-pieces and corners.</a>
He has the most goal threat from the Everton backline for sure and looks nailed to start also.

<h2>Shane Duffy (£4.3m) – Brighton</h2>
Fixture: Crystal Palace (a)
Brighton have kept two clean sheets so far this season. They have conceded 35 Shots in the Box (6th), 13 Shots on Target (2nd) and an xGC of 5.3 (5th). Their defensive stats have been good and they are clearly one of the best defences outside the top four.
The Seagulls play Crystal Palace in Gameweek 6 who also haven’t been the best in the final third. They have only managed 33 Shots in the Box (17th), 11 Shots on Target (20th) and an xG of 5.8 (14th). Also, three of the five goals they have scored this season was against ten-man Spurs.
Shane Duffy is currently proving to be the best £4.0m defender and has already seen a price increase of £0.3m. Not only has he kept two clean sheets but also scored a goal and registered an assist. He has been one of the most attacking defenders with 10 Shots in the Box (1st), 3 Shots on Target (2nd) and an xG of 0.67 (7th).
Brighton are at 36 % to keep clean sheet this week (4th) and as long as the Irishman keeps starting he is the best defensive option for them. He is a big threat from set-pieces and has a decent chance at both defensive and offensive returns in Gameweek 6.

<h2>Ricardo Pereira (£5.5m) – Leicester City</h2>
Fixture: Burnley (H)
The Leicester right-back is a great option for this week in my opinion. The Fox’s are the favourites to keep a clean (48%) for Gameweek 6 and Pereira is the best defensive option for them.
He has already registered two assists in only three starts and managed five goals and 10 assists in 2018/19 and 2019/20. He suffered an unfortunate injury last season which kept him out for half the season and didn't really play himself back into the side as a regular. He does seem to be back to first-team duties now though.
Leicester City face Burnley (H) in Gameweek 6 who have only managed to score three goals (19th) with an xG of 6.3 (9th). Their finishing has really let them down and with Chris Wood (£6.8m) their only real source of goals, they are going to struggle if he isn't scoring.
Leicester haven’t been at their best either this season, but they do have a very favourable fixture here to make that right. I feel Burnley provides Pereira opportunity for returns at both ends of the pitch.
