<p>With the late announcement of a Double Gameweek, Watford, despite their below average defence, is my pick of those who play twice due to their <a href="https://cms.fantasyfootballhub.co.uk/fixture-ticker/"><strong>kind fixture</strong></a>s. I personally wouldn&#8217;t touch either of the side&#8217;s defenders but a <strong>goalkeeper&#8217;s save points give them a much higher floor</strong>, especially in a double.</p>
<p>Norwich and Burnley rank bottom and third bottom for xG per game over the season with 0.9xG and 1.1xG per game, respectively.</p>

<h2 style="text-align: left;">The Best Double Gameweek 23 Free Hit Team &#8211; Defenders</h2>
<h3></h3>
<h3><b>Trent Alexander-Arnold </b><b>(£8.4m) </b><b>and Andy Robertson (£7.0m)</b></h3>
<p>With <strong>Mohamed Salah away at the AFCON</strong>, FPL managers have a rare spare Liverpool slot that doesn&#8217;t involve the template trio. <strong>Trent Alexander-Arnold is a lock in this Free Hit team</strong> any week he doesn&#8217;t blank but it&#8217;s not often I double up at the back. Robertson steps in to partner him. Despite being outshone this season, <strong>the opposite wingback has good <a href="https://cms.fantasyfootballhub.co.uk/opta/">underlying numbers</a></strong>.</p>
<p>Over the last six gameweeks (Robertson has played four times) <strong>he ranks top for xA</strong> per appearance and joint fourth for xG per appearance, both bettering Trent.</p>
<p>Comparing his numbers to Liverpool&#8217;s available attackers and midfielders, they weren&#8217;t much worse off and in some occasions better than the likes of Firmino, so I opted for the double defence.</p>

<p>Since Gameweek 12, <strong>Wolves have kept six clean sheets</strong> despite facing last seasons top four in that period. Over that period, only Brighton had a lower xGC per appearance outside of the big six.</p>
<p>During that period, Ait-Nouri featured six times. He averaged an xGI of 0.3, only bettered by the two Liverpool fullbacks in the league.</p>

<p>Despite a blank last week, Jota showed he&#8217;s not reliant on the big hitters around him with an impressive as well as frustrating <strong>xGI of 0.94 against Brentford</strong>.</p>
<p>He faces Crystal Palace who have kept just <strong>one clean sheet in their last 11 matches</strong>.</p>

<p><strong>Man City have been the second-most attacking side behind Liverpool</strong> this season in terms of expected goals and that is why I want a double up in attack despite the perils of Pep&#8217;s rotation. The return to form of Kevin De Bruyne who provides a solid, <strong>close to nailed attacking option</strong> makes him one of the first picks in the attacking XI despite his hefty price.</p>
<p>Opponents <strong>Southampton haven&#8217;t kept a clean sheet since Gameweek 11</strong>.</p>
<p>De Bruyne hasn&#8217;t registered a single big chance over his last six games but he&#8217;s totalled an xG of 1.56, double that of Foden (in two more games). It&#8217;s his creativity which has really stood out with an <strong>xA of 2.26 over this period</strong>, only bettered by Son Heung-min. <a href="https://cms.fantasyfootballhub.co.uk/opta/"><strong>Foden&#8217;s underlying numbers</strong></a> aren&#8217;t breathtaking but I think he is Man City&#8217;s second-best attacking option.</p>

<p>It has felt like an age since I&#8217;ve picked a Leeds player and that&#8217;s probably because they have had barely any games to play.</p>
<p>This week they have a <strong>great fixture against Newcastle</strong>. Over the last six gameweeks where they have played four times, only his own team and Leicester have a worse xGC than Newcastle.</p>
<p><strong>Raphinha has set-pieces to his name</strong> and he showed how deadly he can be at them against West Ham. I don&#8217;t think it is worth looking into his data due to the limited amount of game time he&#8217;s had and despite Harrison&#8217;s hat-trick last week, I believe he&#8217;s the best option.</p>

<h2 style="text-align: left;">The Best Double Gameweek 23 Free Hit Team &#8211; Forwards</h2>
<p>Forwards have not been appealing for most of this season and that is still the case this week. Just the one forward has been selected this week with funds being funnelled further down the pitch.</p>
<h3><strong>Josh King and Emmanuel Dennis (5.7m and £6.1m)</strong></h3>
<p>Norwich rank fourth bottom for xGC per appearance this season and on average they expect to concede 1.8 goals a game. Burnley are not much better with an xGC per game of 1.7, ranking sixth worst.</p>
<p>King has looked the slightly more threatening of the two over recent weeks and has the added boost of penalties if they ever win one, but I think <strong>it is an easy choice to double up with Dennis</strong>. His ownership is very high and a lot of forwards have not been appealing for most of this season, so alternatives this week aren&#8217;t that appealing with just a single game.</p>
