<p><strong>Norwich rank bottom for big chances (6)</strong> and shots inside the box (31) this season, so I&#8217;ve decided to target them this week at Turf Moor. <strong>Burnley haven&#8217;t had a good start</strong> to the season but I&#8217;m still expecting Dyche to get the job done against Norwich.</p>

<h2 style="text-align: left;">The Best Gameweek 7 Defenders</h2>
<h3><b>Marcos Alonso and Andreas Christensen (£5.9m and £5.0m)</b></h3>
<p>Tuchel&#8217;s backline is turning into a bit of a minefield, so I&#8217;ve decided to stick two fingers into the pie this week.</p>
<p><a href="https://cms.fantasyfootballhub.co.uk/opta/"><strong>Chelsea&#8217;s numbers</strong></a> haven&#8217;t been as solid as last season with <strong>Edouard Mendy (£6.0m)</strong> being required on a lot more occasions. I&#8217;m not too concerned with the rotation as I&#8217;ve picked a stronger bench this week incase one drops out. <strong>Alonso&#8217;s numbers have been mouth watering</strong>, so a start brings an extremely high ceiling. Christensen, meanwhile, should hopefully tick over with a bog standard 6-pointer.</p>

<p>Despite an impressive start to the season, <strong>Brentford&#8217;s front line haven&#8217;t been prolific every week</strong>, but enough to ruin a lot of clean sheets. With his <strong>opposite flank a doubt</strong>, I think a full back will be a good option in this game even if a clean sheet might not be straightforward.</p>
<p>The fullback has registered <strong>a goal and an assist</strong> already this season. In a week when it looks hard to predict, adding the chance of <strong>attacking threat</strong> is never a bad option.</p>

<h2>The Best Gameweek 7 Midfielders</h2>
<h3><strong>Bruno Fernandes (£12.5m)</strong></h3>
<p>It&#8217;s been a while since <strong>Fernandes</strong> has been in the XI. He felt like an auto-pick last season but with added competition up the pitch, I&#8217;ve gotten away with not picking him as frequently this season.</p>
<p>This week the front line options are so congested that I&#8217;ve returned to the tried and trusted <strong>midfielder against</strong> <strong>Everton</strong>. Thanks to a kind start to the season, Everton rank <strong>second for big chances conceded (6)</strong> and <strong>third for shots inside the box conceded (35)</strong>.</p>
<p>But <strong>Everton</strong> have rarely looked like a team that would give you confidence in keeping a clean sheet, and that shows with their <strong>xGC being lower than their actual goals conceded</strong>.</p>

Only three other players can boast a higher xG (3.38) this season and at his price. He&#8217;s an easy pick this week.</p>

<h3><strong>Wilfred Zaha (£6.9m)</strong></h3>
<p><strong>Crystal Palace&#8217;s</strong> seemingly <a href="https://cms.fantasyfootballhub.co.uk/premier-league-set-piece-takers/"><strong>new penalty taker</strong></a> is up against one of the most out of form sides in <strong>Leicester</strong> this week.</p>
<p><strong>Brendan Rodgers&#8217;</strong> men don&#8217;t seem to know how to defend at the moment and Viera&#8217;s men have started the season better than I expected. The Ivorian rarely stands out in the <a href="https://cms.fantasyfootballhub.co.uk/opta/" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c="1" title="FPL Stats by OPTA - Player and Team Stats">stats</a> but his<strong> individual talent</strong> makes me prefer him to the likes of <strong>Conor Gallagher (£5.7m)</strong> or someone in the precious striker spot.</p>

<p>The Belgian embarks on a <a href="https://cms.fantasyfootballhub.co.uk/fixture-ticker/"><strong>purple patch of fixtures</strong></a> and it&#8217;s not a secret he&#8217;s known for being a <strong>flat-track bully</strong> in the past.</p>
<p>Despite two blanks against <strong>Man City and Tottenham</strong> and a blank in midweek, <strong>Southampton should be a good game</strong> to get him back on track. <strong>Southampton&#8217;s defensive numbers are impressive</strong>. They rank in the <strong>top third for best defensive <a href="https://cms.fantasyfootballhub.co.uk/opta/" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c="1" title="FPL Stats by OPTA - Player and Team Stats">stats</a></strong> over their last four games, so I don&#8217;t see an absolute walkover.</p>

<h3><strong>Michail Antonio (£8.0m) </strong></h3>
<p>West Ham&#8217;s opponents have really impressed me this season. Defensively, they only conceded more than a single goal last gameweek for the first time this season.</p>
<p>That being said, <strong>West Ham&#8217;s offensive <a href="https://cms.fantasyfootballhub.co.uk/opta/" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c="1" title="FPL Stats by OPTA - Player and Team Stats">stats</a> have been the best</strong> <strong>out of anyone outside of last seasons top four</strong>. Antonio&#8217;s numbers are also exceptional so it wasn&#8217;t a hard decision for him to remain in the XI.</p>

<h3><strong>Raul Jimenez (£10.4m)</strong></h3>
<p><strong>Newcastle have been porous</strong> at the back this season conceding the highest xGC (13.5) as well as the <strong>second highest amount of big chances conceded</strong> (18). Jimenez finally broke his duck last week and carries a lot of creativity along with his goal threat.</p>

<h3>Notable Omissions</h3>
<p><strong>Liverpool and Manchester City players don&#8217;t feature in Gameweek 7</strong> as they face each other. I don&#8217;t think this is an easy game to call. <strong>Man City</strong> have had the best defence this season, conceding just <strong>five shots on target</strong>.</p>
<p>Meanwhile, <strong>Liverpool aren&#8217;t an easy opponent</strong> at Anfield. Therefore, I&#8217;ve decided to steer clear, but if I had to call it, I think it&#8217;ll be a <strong>low scoring affair</strong>.</p>
<p>I could&#8217;ve picked about six forwards this week so when there&#8217;s a viable midfield alternative, I sided with them and that&#8217;s why I&#8217;ve left out <strong>Ronaldo (£12.7m)</strong>. I&#8217;m hoping Bruno can do the business as he&#8217;s been desperately unlucky not to register an assist in recent weeks and it looks like he&#8217;s still clinging on to pens.</p>
<p>Chris Wood (<strong>£6.8m</strong>) should surely get the chance to double his goals tally for the season against Norwich but Burnley&#8217;s and his stats haven&#8217;t set the world alight so I slightly favoured the Wolves striker over him.</p>
<p>Jamie Vardy (£10.2m) did wonders for us last week but Leicester&#8217;s general form has made me look elsewhere despite his points. I wouldn&#8217;t be surprised to see him return this week but with Europe midweek, there are more well-rested options to choose from.</p>
