<h2 style="text-align: left;">The Best FPL Midfielders for Double Gameweek 28</h2>

<h3><strong>Mohamed Salah (£13.0m) – Liverpool</strong></h3>
<p><strong>Fixture: West Ham United (H)</strong></p>
<p>In 23 starts, Mohamed Salah has racked up a monstrous 19 goals and 11 assists. He has by far the highest xG (19.55) and xA (9.97) in the league, and remains a must-have player in our teams.</p>
<p>Liverpool don’t have a double in Gameweek 28, but we can’t ignore their players, even in a single gameweek - especially Salah.  They play West Ham United at home who have conceded 37 goals (8<sup>th</sup>) with an Expected Goals Conceded (xGC) of 35.4 (9<sup>th</sup>) so they are relatively mid-table defensively.</p>
<p>However, the Reds have now scored an incredible 70 goals (1<sup>st</sup>) with an xG of 70.3 (1<sup>st</sup>) so there isn’t really a bad fixture for Jurgen Klopp’s men in terms of attack. With Liverpool hot on the heels of Manchester City, Salah is very likely to be involved again this weekend, and like most weeks, will have plenty of chances to score.</p>
<p>Liverpool are also favourites to score 2.5+ goals in Double Gameweek 28, at 43%.</p>
<p>The Egyptian has been so good this season that despite having a single fixture, <a href="https://cms.fantasyfootballhub.co.uk/the-best-captain-for-fpl-double-gameweek-28-fpl-captain-tips/">there is probably still a case to consider him for the captaincy</a>. He is currently averaging 12.6 points per game, and will also likely be a differential for captain this week, with so many teams doubling.</p>

<h3><strong>Heung-Min Son (£10.7m) – Spurs</strong></h3>
<p><strong>Fixture: Everton (H)</strong></p>
<p>Heung-Min Son has been brilliant this season, accumulating 10 goals and seven assists, in just 22 starts. The South Korean has taken 33 Shots in the Box, with an xG of 9.40, and has created 52 Chances, with an xA of 5.89.</p>
<p>Tottenham Hotspur also only have one match this Gameweek, but a very appealing fixture in Everton at home. The Toffees sit one point off the relegation places, and have conceded 41 goals (14<sup>th</sup>) with an xGC of 39.9 (14<sup>th</sup>).</p>
<p>Spurs have been pretty good going forward, with 35 goals (8<sup>th</sup>) and an xG of 42.4 (5<sup>th</sup>). 24 of their goals have come since Gameweek 13, showing clear improvement after their slow start.</p>
<p>This is a great fixture for the Spurs attack, and Son has the most goals and assists from his team, as well as the highest Goal Involvement (53%) which actually puts him second amongst all players.</p>
<p>He has been Tottenham’s talisman this campaign, and has only blanked twice in the last 11 games.</p>

<h3><strong>Philippe Coutinho (£7.4m) – Aston Villa</strong></h3>
<p><strong>Fixture: Southampton (H) and Leeds United (a)</strong></p>
<p>Philippe Coutinho has not had much trouble adapting to life back in the Premier League, with two goals and two assists in only five starts for Aston Villa.</p>
<p>Over his career, he has 59 goals and 38 assists (league games) with an xG of 52.55 and an xA of 35.68. These are really good numbers, and he seems to be producing on par with that in his time with Villa.</p>
<p>The Villains have a very nice pair of fixtures in Double Gameweek 28. They take on Southampton (H) and Leeds United (a). The Saints have conceded 37 goals (13th) with an xG of 40.0 (15<sup>th</sup>) so Villa will really fancy themselves here being at home.</p>
<p>The better of the two fixtures however is the one against Leeds, who have been woeful in defence and have just lost their manager Marcelo Bielsa. The Whites have conceded 60 goals (20<sup>th</sup>) with an xGC of 52.8 (20<sup>th</sup>) which ranks them as the worst defence in the league.</p>
<p>Coutinho will be hard-pressed to get a better pair of fixtures for a double, and is sure to get a fair few chances of attacking returns.</p>
<p>Despite blanks in his last three games, I still think Villas' double in Gameweek 28 ranks the Brazilian as one of the best midfield options for this week.</p>

Raphinha (£6.5m) – Leeds United</strong></h3>
<p><strong>Fixture: Leicester City (a) and Aston Villa (H)</strong></p>
<p>Raphinha has nine goals and two assists this season in 23 starts. He has taken 25 Shots in the Box, with an xG of 6.46 and has also created 56 Chances, with an xA of 5.67. He is Leeds United’s best player, and a good value FPL asset.</p>
<p>Leeds also have quite a favourable double in Gameweek 28. They come up against a leaky Leicester side, and also welcome Aston Villa to Elland Road.</p>
<p>The Foxes have been really poor at the back this season, conceding 44 goals (15<sup>th</sup>) with an xGC of 43.8 (17<sup>th</sup>) and this game looks like a high-scoring one on paper.</p>
<p>Villa have conceded 37 goals (12<sup>th</sup>) with an xGC of 36.9 (10<sup>th</sup>). Both fixtures are there for the taking for the Whites, and they will see them as must-win games given their league position.</p>
<p>Leeds sacked Bielsa this week, and this of course will change things in terms of the way the play. Bielsa was very attack-minded, and there is no telling how the new manager will set up, but we do know Raphinha will still be an integral player for them.</p>
<p>The Brazilian has been their talisman, and is their top scorer with the highest Goal Involvement (39%).</p>
<p>He is also on the majority of set-pieces, which always increases the chances of attacking returns.</p>

<h3><strong>James Ward-Prowse (£6.5m) – Southampton</strong></h3>
<p><strong>Fixture: Aston Villa (a) and Newcastle United (H)</strong></p>
<p>The England midfielder has six goals and four assists, with six Shots in the Box and an xG of 4.31, also creating 55 Chances with an xA of 4.37. He is one of the most nailed-on players in the league, and a fairly consistent FPL asset.</p>
<p>Southampton play Aston Villa (a) and Newcastle United (H) in Double Gameweek 28.  Both of these teams' defences are in the bottom half of the table stats-wise, and I fancy the Saints to score at least one in both.</p>
<p>Villa have conceded 37 goals (14<sup>th</sup>) with an xGC of 36.5 (10<sup>th</sup>) whereas Newcastle have conceded 45 goals (17th) with an xGC of 43.3 (17<sup>th</sup>). The game against the Toon is where we are likely to see the most goals, and there is a decent chance JWP is involved in one way or another.</p>
<p>Southampton have scored 34 goals (9<sup>th</sup>) with an xG of 38.7 (8<sup>th</sup>), indicating that they are a fairly decent attack, ranking in the top 10.</p>
<p>Ward-Prowse is nailed on to start both these games, which is a huge plus for a Double Gameweek. He is also on almost every single set-piece for the Saints, including corners and all types of free kicks. He is arguably the best free-kick taker in the league, which is a huge weapon in his arsenal.</p>
<p>Furthermore, Villa conceded 62 headed shots (16<sup>th</sup>) this season, which bodes well for the Englishman when he is whipping in those corners or free kicks.</p>
