<h2 style="text-align: left;">Who are the best FPL Midfielders For Gameweek 1?</h2>
<h3 style="text-align: left;">Mohamed Salah (£12.5m) – Liverpool</h3>
Fixture: Norwich (a)
The Egyptian has been the first name in my team for the last few seasons now. Since his arrival at Anfield in the 2017/18 season, he has scored a massive 95 goals and registered 40 assists, and is no doubt the most consistent FPL player we have at our disposal.
Despite having his worst season in the Premier League FPL wise (231 points) he still scored 22 goals and six assists. He registered 126 Shots (2nd), 52 Shots on Target (2nd), 98 Shots in the Box (1st) and 33 Big Chances (2nd)., while also creating 57 Chances (11th) and 12 Big Chances (5th).
He is currently the second most selected player in the game (50%) and is also one of the most reliable captaincy options.
I think it’s way too risky to go without him and with a plum game against Norwich (a) in Gameweek 1 he is also the best captain. He is the favourite to score anytime among the bookmakers (62%) and also ranks top in our <a href="https://cms.fantasyfootballhub.co.uk/predictions/">Points Prediction Tool</a> for expected points (7.5) for Gameweek 1.
With him also being on penalties I can’t see a better option this week for the armband and not only that he also plays Burnley (H), Leeds United (a), Crystal Palace (H), Brentford(a) and Watford (a) during the following five.

<h3>Bruno Fernandes (£12.0m) – Manchester United</h3>
Fixture: Leeds United (H)
In his full debut season, Bruno finished as the highest scoring player in the game with an impressive 244 points. He managed a colossal 32 attacking returns - 18 goals and 14 assists with 121 Shots (2nd), 51 Shots on Target (2nd), 48 Shots in the Box (6th), and 20 Big Chances (4th). He also created 95 Chances (1st) and 20 Big Chances (1st).
He is the one pulling the strings in that Manchester United attack and is heavily involved in their goals. He is also on <a href="https://cms.fantasyfootballhub.co.uk/?post_type=post&amp;p=11173">penalties, direct free kicks and corners</a> so has many avenues to points and it’s not surprising he had a Goal Involvement of 45% for the Red Devils last season.
Man United were one of the best attacking teams in the league last season and they will surely only get better with the addition of Jadon Sancho (£9.5m). They scored 73 goals (2nd) last term with 213 Shots on Target (3rd), 324 Shots in the Box (6th) and 94 Big Chances (3rd).
Their opening fixture with Leeds United at home also screams goals. Two very attacking teams and we know Marcelo Bielsa’s men play ultra-attacking football leaving themselves vulnerable so often.
He is also a decent captain shout for Gameweek 1 and will for sure be in the top two for most captained player for the week. Our <a href="https://cms.fantasyfootballhub.co.uk/predictions/">Points Prediction Tool</a> also agrees and ranks him second for most expected points (6.5).

<h3>Diogo Jota (£7.5m) - Liverpool</h3>
Fixture: Norwich (a)
The Liverpool forward had a great start to life in Liverpool but unfortunately had his season derailed through injury last season. He missed 17 games through injury in total but in his 12 starts he bagged nine goals with 46 Shots, 26 Shots on Target, 38 Shots in the Box and a massive 13 Big Chances.
He also created 12 Chances and two Big Chances with an expected assists total of 2.65 so was unfortunate not to register a couple of assists also.
He’s is clearly underpriced and if he nails down a starting berth he will no doubt the best value player in the game. His stats are at premium level and he is the best option from the £7.5m midfielders despite his minutes not being assured. I think he will end up being a first team starter for Liverpool this season at some point.
He should be good for a start in Gameweek 1 but he will be one to monitor coming up to the deadline. If Jurgen Klopp hints at him starting the game then he is one of the best options to own for this week.
The bookmakers also fancy him and have given him a 49% chance (3rd) to score anytime.

<h3>Ismaila Sarr (£6.0m) - Watford</h3>
Fixture: Aston Villa (H)
Ismaila Sarr is an exciting option at £6.0m. He scored 13 goals and accrued 10 assists for Watford last season in the Championship and played by the far the most minutes (3,459) for them.
He also scored five goals and made seven assists in only 22 starts for the Hornets in the 2019/20 season so is a proven Premier League player.
His stats were really impressive too for a £6.0m midfielder. He managed 44 Shots, 13 Shots on Target, 35 Shots in the Box and 10 Big Chances, while also creating 25 Chances and 9 Big Chances.
Watford play Aston Villa in Gameweek 1 at home which is a decent fixture for them attacking wise. Our <a href="https://cms.fantasyfootballhub.co.uk/fixture-ticker/">advanced Fixture Ticker</a> rank it as the third best for attack and our <a href="https://cms.fantasyfootballhub.co.uk/predictions/">Points Prediciton Tool</a> also has Sarr as the highest predicted scorer from the mid-priced midfielders.

<h3>Harvey Barnes (£7.0m) – Leicester City</h3>
Fixture: Wolves (H)
Harvey Barnes had a good season, scoring nine goals and five assists in only 22 starts. His stats were impressive too – 56 Shots, 26 Shots on Target, 40 Shots in the Box and 9 Big Chances.
Harvey was on a great run of form from Gameweek 15 to 25 last season where bagged six goals and three assists but an unfortunate injury meant he missed the rest of the season. He seems the best FPL option in that Leicester City  midfield as he has the highest goal threat. Only Jamie Vardy (£10.5m) beats him for Shots on Target and in the box.
Leicester play Wolves in Gameweek 1 and our <a href="https://cms.fantasyfootballhub.co.uk/fixture-ticker/">advanced fixture ticker</a> really likes this fixture from an attacking point of view. The Fox’s were also among the best attacking teams in the league last season. They scored 68 goals (3rd), with 86 Big Chances (5th) and they have cemented themselves over the last few seasons as top four contenders.
I think Barnes should start against Wolves now that he is fit and playing. Our <a href="https://cms.fantasyfootballhub.co.uk/predictions/">Points Prediction Tool</a> also ranks him as the second highest midpriced midfielder for expected points (4.5) for Gameweek 1.
