<p>As a rejuvenated Spurs side begin a run of kind looking fixtures, FPL managers should be looking for one of their deadly duo for the next three.</p>
<p>Whilst neither Son or Kane have hit the heights of last season, they still look like two of the best options to own right now. Unfortunately, the majority of FPL managers will have to pick one or the other due to the funds taken up by the irreplaceable Mohamed Salah and high-performing premium defenders. This article will give an insightful analysis of the duo, and which one I would recommend opting for.</p>
<p>Playing around <strong>900 minutes each</strong> so far this season, Kane and Son have only managed <strong>five goals and three assists between them</strong>. By this point last season, the pair had a remarkable <strong>17 goals and 11 assists</strong>.</p>
<p>That doesn&#8217;t necessarily put me off. Conte&#8217;s arrival looks to have spurred Kane&#8217;s recent improvement in attitude, with the England striker reportedly delighted to be playing under Conte. The goals are coming for him, and I certainly wouldn&#8217;t put money against the pair finding form in the upcoming gameweeks.</p>
<p><strong>Son&#8217;s goal involvements numbers are comfortably superior to Kane&#8217;s</strong> so far, scoring three more and assisting one extra.</p>
<p>That being said, <a href="https://cms.fantasyfootballhub.co.uk/opta/"><strong>their underlying stats are almost identical</strong></a>, with the pair recording almost the same shots, shots on target, shots in the box, xG and big chances.</p>
<p>Therefore, comparing their goal threat over the season is negligent. Creativity wise, Kane has made three big chances compared to Son&#8217;s zero. However, Son has created over double that of Kane&#8217;s seven key passes, although nine of his 17 key passes have come directly from set-pieces.</p>
<p>So I do think Kane&#8217;s creativity beats Son&#8217;s so far this season, with Son only able to create a bunch of half chances. Conte has said he is keen to improve attacking set-pieces, so we could see a few assists coming from Son, but so far his delivery has been average at best.</p>

<h3><strong>Kane vs Son | Price</strong></h3>
<p>Son is priced at £10.4m at the time of writing, saving you £1.8m if you opt for him over Kane. That is quite a hefty difference, so it&#8217;s worth bearing in mind, and will impact my conclusion slightly.</p>
<p>That being said, given how explosive each one is, I would also recommend not taking this price difference too seriously, as Kane could blow Son out of the water in the next few weeks, and vice versa.</p>
<p>It&#8217;s worth noting that if you wanted to get rid of Kane you&#8217;d have more flexibility, with Ronaldo and Lukaku possible replacements. In comparison, <strong>Son replacements are hard to find</strong>, meaning you&#8217;d have to downgrade to a mid-priced midfielder or find the budget for Mane or Fernandes, for example. For those reasons, the prices of the pair aren&#8217;t playing into my thinking too much.</p>

<p>In terms of touches so far this season, not too much separates Kane and Son.</p>
<p>Kane has, however, had more touches in the box, and a higher proportion of touches in the opposition&#8217;s half. That being said, his heat map doesn&#8217;t look too inspiring, with little to show in the final third, as well as <strong>his tendency to drop deep</strong> clearly displayed.</p>
<p>Meanwhile, Son is showing little in the 18 yard box, although he is finding himself in central positions. Despite Spurs&#8217; lack of creativity as a team so far, I think that will change with the new roles of <strong>Emerson Royal</strong> and <strong>Sergio Reguilon</strong> creating more crosses to benefit Kane. This should benefit Son less than the centre forward given Kane&#8217;s aerial ability.</p>

<p>As mentioned previously, <strong>little separates Kane and Son in terms of goal threat so far this season</strong>. However, so far under Conte in the league, Kane has been far more of a threat, with <strong>four shots in the box and an xG of 0.64</strong>.</p>
<p>In comparison, Son is yet to hit the target, unsurprising given he&#8217;s only had <strong>one shot in the box and just an xG of 0.03</strong>. These <a href="https://cms.fantasyfootballhub.co.uk/opta/" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c="1" title="FPL Stats by OPTA - Player and Team Stats">stats</a> don&#8217;t include the Vitesse encounter, in which Son scored, hit the target twice, missed a big chance and hit the woodwork.</p>
<p>Depsite that being against much weaker opposition, it does show <strong>Son is certainly capable of improving his numbers</strong> in the forthcoming weeks, and only two games is possibly not a large enough sample size to record.</p>
<p>It does appear that Kane is getting on the end of the greater chances, and although I expect Son&#8217;s numbers to improve dramatically, I still think Kane will offer more goal threat, especially given Conte&#8217;s intent to get him in and around the box much more.</p>

<p>Kane beats Son for creativity both across the whole season and with Conte at the helm. <strong>He stands clear of Son in regards to big chances created and expected assists</strong>.</p>
<p>This isn&#8217;t particularly surprising given he created three more goals in the league than the South Korean last season. Despite Conte keen to keep Kane forward, his creativity hasn&#8217;t showed signs of decline, also recording an assist against Vitesse.</p>

<p>According to the <a href="https://cms.fantasyfootballhub.co.uk/predictions/"><strong>Hub&#8217;s FPL points predictor</strong></a>, Kane is expected to beat Son in every gameweek across the next eight gameweeks, totalling eight points more in total over the period.</p>
<p>It is difficult to find patterns with games that might suit each player, although Brentford and Norwich are both in the top five for headed attempts conceded, and Burnley are in fifth for percentage of chances conceded on the left side. So the fixtures probably suit Kane slightly more across the next three.</p>

That being said, given how such little separates the pair, I would justify picking Son if you cannot find the extra cash or have to take a hit. If both are as accessible as one another, Kane would be my pick. He beats Son in almost all of the categories I&#8217;ve gone through, and has penalties to boot.</p>
