Who are the best FPL players for Gameweek 15?

Who are the Best FPL Defenders For Gameweek 15?

Sergio Reguilón (£5.2m) – Spurs

Fixture: Norwich (H)

Sergio Reguilon has one goal and three assists this season with 4 Shots in the Box and an xG of 0.89. He has also created 13 Chances with an xA of 1.41. Since the arrival of Antonio Conte he has been taking much more advanced positions and getting into the box a lot more. In only three league games under the Italian manager, the Argentinian already has a goal and an assist.

Spurs play Norwich in Gameweek 15 which from a defensive point of view doesn’t get much better. The Canaries have only scored 8 goals (20^th), with 75 Shots in the Box (19^th) and an xG of 13.9 (20^th). Although they have picked up form in the last few games they still aren’t scoring freely.

Tottenham are the second favourites to keep a clean sheet in in Gameweek 15 (49%) and looking at the stats it is no surprise really. Despite Spurs poor season so far they are still a good defensive side. They have only conceded 17 goals (5^th) with a n xGC of 17.6 (7^th).

Also, I can only see Conte improving the Spurs defence. Reguilon has the best attacking stats amongst the Tottenham defenders and he won’t get a better chance to keep a clean sheet all season and he also has a decent chance of attacking returns too.

Sergio is also at 52% for anytime returns according to our Points Prediction Tool.

Sergio Regulion Stats

Marcos Alonso (£5.6m) – Chelsea

Fixture: West Ham United (a)

Chelsea conceded an unlikely goal last Gameweek to Watford but they still remain one of the league’s best defences. Alonso as usual was playing very advanced and I expect this to continue as long as he keeps getting starts.

He has one goal and one assist in eight starts this season with 6 Shots in the Box and an xG of 1.07 while also creating 14 Chances with an xA of 0.79.

Chelsea travel to the London Stadium to take on rivals West Ham United in Gameweek 15. The Hammers have been good going forward this season scoring 25 goals (4^th), with an xG of 22.9 (5^th). However, they come up against an extremely resolute defence here.

The Blues have only conceded 6 goals (1^st), 78 Shots in the Box (2^nd) and an xGC of 15 (2^nd). They are only behind Manchester City in the underlying numbers. Despite West Ham being good in the final third, I think they will have a very tough job getting past this defence.

The bookmakers also have Chelsea as the fourth favourites to keep a clean sheet this at 44% despite being away from home.

Alonso will again have chances of returns at both ends of the pitch and with Chilwell still injured he is very likely to start again also.

Trent Alexander Arnold (£7.9m) – Liverpool

Fixture: Wolves (a)

It was a rare blank for Trent last Gameweek against Everton. He has one goal and seven assists this season as well as seven clean sheets. He has created 38 Chances (2^nd), 8 Big Chances (2^nd) with an xA of 5.11 (2^nd).

Liverpool play Wolves away from in Gameweek 15 which looks like a tough game on paper. However, Bruno Lage’s men have had a tough time in front of goal this season. They have only managed to score 12 goals (19^th) with an xG of 18.2 (12^th). There seems to be a lot of bad finishing letting them down.

Also, the Reds have been solid at the back only conceding 12 goals (3^rd) with an xGC of 15.5 (3^rd). It’s no surprise that the bookies have the them as the third favorites to keep a clean sheet (48%) in Gameweek 15.

After a disappointing season last year for Trent, he does now seem to be back to his best and looks on course to match or even beat his best attacking returns of four goals and 15 assists in the 2019/20 season.

The right-back plays in a strong defence and not only does he have bags of attacking threat but he is also on the majority of set-pieces.

Our Points Prediction Tool has him as the second highest scoring defender (5.2) for Gameweek 15 and he is also at 60% to return anytime.

Trent Alexander-Arnold Stats

Joao Cancelo (£6.4m) – Manchester City

Fixture: Watford (a)

Joao Cancelo was another defender with a rare blank as City conceded against Aston Villa last Gameweek.

The Portuguese still has the highest xG amongst defenders (2.62) and he has also created 15 Chances with an xA of 2.35 (2^nd among defenders).

Manchester City play Watford in Gameweek 15. This is another chance for Cancelo to pick up his 9^th clean sheet of the season. The Hornets have been decent going forward, scoring 19 goals (7^th) with an xG of 18.9 (8^th).

However, they come up against the strongest defence in the league against the Blues. They have only conceded 8 goals (2^nd), 60 Shots in the Box (1^st), 27 Shots on Target (1^st) and an xGC of 9.3 (1^st). They don’t give up many chances at all and with Cancelo we have the perfect mix of a very attacking defender who plays in a rock-solid defence.

The bookies again rank City as the favourites to keep clean sheet (56%) and also to score 2.5+ goals (56%). This of course bodes very well for Cancelo’s chances of returns at both ends of the pitch.

Who are the Best FPL Midfielders For Gameweek 15?

Heung-Min Son (£10.3m) – Spurs

Fixture: Norwich (H)

Heung-Min Son grabbed his fifth goal of the season and last Gameweek and now also has two assists to this name. The South Korean has 15 Shots in the Box, 7 Big Chances and an xG of 4.19. He has also created 19 Chances with an xA of 1.39.

Spurs play Norwich (H) in Gameweek 15 who have conceded 28 goals (19^th), 135 Shots in the Box (18^th) and an xGC of 25.0 (19^th). Dean Smith has got them playing well and they are unbeaten in the last four but Tottenham away from home is going to be a tough task.

Son has 66 goals and 49 assists in his last five seasons for Spurs. He is a proven Premier League player and FPL asset. He hasn’t lived up to the expectations of past seasons this campaign but there is no better fixture in the calendar for him to get grab some attacking returns.

Despite his and Spurs poor start to the season he has still been their best player and they do now seem to be clicking into gear under Conte. He is their top scorer with five goals and has a 54% Goal Involvement (1^st among his team) in the games he has played so is their main source of points right now.

Our Points Prediction Tool ranks him as the most likely midfielder to score at anytime (51%) for Gameweek 15 and he is also second overall for predicted points (7.9).

Heung-Min Son Stats

Raphinha (£6.7m) – Leeds United

Fixture: Brentford (H)

Raphinha has now scored six goals in his first 12 starts for Leeds United this season. He really has been keeping Leeds United afloat and is no doubt their most important player and by far their best FPL asset.

The Brazilian has 13 Shots in the Box, 13 Shots on Target and an xG of 3.49. He has also created 23 Chances with a an xA of 2.64. He is another player who is fantastic value and again has a good home fixture this week.

Leeds come up against Brentford at home this week and with their 93rd-minute winner last Gameweek they will be full of confidence coming into this game. Brentford have been decent in defence in this season with an xGC of 19.1 (9^th). However, they have conceded 12 goals in their last five games.

Leeds haven't been anywhere near as good as last season when it comes to attack but they still play to attack every game and right now their only source of goals seems to be Raphinha. He is the goal threat and the one pulling the strings in midfield. He has scored six of Leeds 13 goals which further emphasises how much of a talisman he is for them.

He is also on the majority of set-pieces also which always increases the chances of attacking returns.

Raphinha Stats

Diogo Jota (£7.9m) - Liverpool

Fixture: Wolves (a)

Diogo Jota bagged yet another goal last Gameweek to take his total to 8 goals and one assist in only 11 starts. He has 29 Shots in the Box (5^th), 14 Shots on Target (5^th), 13 Big Chances (3^rd) and an xG of 6.51 (3^rd).

He has also created 5 Big Chances wit an xA of 3.68 so has even been unfortunate not to have more assists to his name. These stats for a £7.8m player are simply outstanding and he is at the moment the best value player in the game.

Liverpool continued their onslaught of scoring goals last Gameweek with another drubbing, this time to bitter rivals Everton with a 4-1 win.

In Gameweek 15 they come up against Wolves. No team comes close in terms of attack to the Reds this season. They have scored the most goals (43), and have the most Shots in the Box (184), Shots on Target (100), and xG (35.8).

Although Wolves have been decent at the back conceding only 12 goals (3^rd) with an xGC of 16.8 (4^th), I don’t think it really matters when it comes to facing Liverpool.

The bookmakers even have Liverpool as the second favorites to score 2.5+ goals (39%).

With Firmino still injured and with Jota in such good form he won't be getting rested any time soon. He is Liverpool’s number 9 and they are scoring goals for fun. He will no doubt score plenty more over the course of the season.

Diogo Jota Stats

Mohamed Salah (£13.1m) – Liverpool

Fixture: Wolves (a)

With his fantastic brace last Gameweek the Egyptian now has 13 goals and 9 assists after only 14 games which really is incredible. He is a world-class player at the top of his game and really is a permanent captain going forward.

He has only blanked in one game this season and is on course to come close to his points tally of 303 points in the 2017-18 season where he scored 32 goals.

Unsurprisingly his underlying numbers have been out of this world also. He has the most Shots in the Box (46), Shots on Target (29), Big Chances (16) and xG (10.35). He has also created the most Big Chances (9) with the higest xA (6.34).

An away game against Wolves is a tough game on paper but not for this Liverpool side. I have already mentioned their attacking stats above but they have also scored 12 goals in the last three games scoring four goals in each. Furthermore, they are the first English top-flight team to score 2+ goals in 18 consecutive matches in all competitions.

I mentioned last Gameweek that they look like scoring 3+ goals in every game and with Salah’s stats and output it’s inevitable that he will be involved.

The simple fact is that it is too risky to not captain him at the moment. His ownership is also a record high 72.6%.

Who are the Best FPL Forwards For Gameweek 15?

Callum Wilson (£7.3m) – Newcastle United

Fixture: Burnley (H)

Callum Wilson now has five goals in 10 starts in the Premier League after notching one against Norwich last Gameweek. The forward has 19 Shots in the Box, 7 Big Chances and an xG of 4.00.

Newcastle United have another favourable fixture in Gameweek 15 as they face relegation rivals Burnley. Sean Dyches men have conceded 20 goals (14^th), 145 Shots in the Box (19^th) and an xGC of 21.7 (16^th). They haven’t been the best at the back and tend to concede a lot of chances in the box.

Newcastle have scored 16 goals and do have a very good attack with the likes of Wilson and Alan Saint-Maximum. These games against opposition around their level will be vital for them and they will see this as a six-pointer.

Wilson proved again last Gameweek how important he is to this team and he will no doubt be the best option again for the Toon in Gameweek 15.

He now has a 42% Goal Involvement in the games he has played and I don’t see this changing going forward. If Newcastle are to stay up they need him fit and he will provide a chunk of their goals.

Callum is again ranked highly on our Points Prediction Tool as he is the second highest predicted scoring forward (6.1) for Gameweek 15. He is also at 50% (3^rd) to score anytime.

Callum Wilson Stats

Harry Kane (£12.2m) – Tottenham Hotspur

Fixture: Norwich (H)

Harry Kane has now gone five games on the trot with no attacking returns and only has one goal and an assist to his name. This sort of form is unheard of for the England forward. The only positive I can give for Kane is that he has underperformed in accordance with his stats with an xG of 4.02 and an xA of 3.11. He has had the chances to score but just not taken them.

Spurs have probably their best fixture of the season in Gameweek 15 as they take on Norwich City. They have conceded 28 goals (19^th), 135 Shots in the Box (18^th) and an xGC of 25.0 (19^th).

Despite their recent run of good form with two draws and two wins in their last four you have to back Spurs especially after their convincing win against Brentford last Gameweek. Kane did have a few chances to score including a one on one which is a positive for his owners, as he is at least getting into scoring positions.

Tottenham have an array of good attacking players and despite their poor start to the season, they will still be strong favourites for this one. In fact, they are the second favourites to score 2.5+ (39%) goals this Gameweek according to the bookmakers.

Also, the North London club will be well aware this is a must-win game for them given the opposition. Despite Harry’s extremely poor form it’s still hard not to back him against one of the worst team in the league. I think he has done enough over the last seven seasons to merit another inclusion here.

Kane has also scored in every Premier League meeting against Norwich grabbing five goals in the three appearances.

The England forward is again rated as the highest predicted scoring player (8.8 points) according to our Points Prediction Tool and he is also the favorite to score anytime at 67%.

Harry Kane Stats

Cristiano Ronaldo (£12.4m) – Manchester United

Fixture: Crystal Palace (H)

With his brace last Gameweek against Arsenal, Cristiano Ronaldo now has six goals and two assists in nine league starts for Manchester United. He has managed 32 Shots in the Box (4^th), 16 Shots on Target (4^th) and an xG of 6.10 (5^th). He has also created 8 Chances with an xA of 2.04.

Man United play Crystal Palace at home in Gameweek 15. And Although the Eagles have been fairly stout at the back conceding 20 goals with an xGC of 17.2 (5^th) I do think the Red Devils will be too strong for them.

United have had a very poor start to the season but they are now under a new manager and their win against the Gunners will have given them a real boost. Despite the bad start they haven't had problems scoring goals as they have notched 24 (5^th) with an xG of 23.4 (4^th).

Ronaldo has been their talisman this season and has a massive 57% Goal Involvement in the games he has played. He has been their best player without a doubt.

This is a fixture in which United should win and Cristiano is the one most likely to score for them. He also now seems to be the number one penalty taker.

Man United are also the third favourites to score 2.5+ goals (37%) and the Portuguese is the second favourite to score at anytime also (52%).

Cristiano Ronaldo Stats

Ollie Watkins (£7.3m) – Aston Villa

Fixture: Leicester City (H)

Ollie Watkins looks to be slowly coming back into form this season after a slow start. With his goal against Manchester City last Gameweek he now has four goals and one assist. In 11 starts he has 22 Shots in the Box, 12 Shots on Target and an xG of 3.76. He has also created 9 Chances with an xA of 1.21.

Aston Villa come up against Leicester City (H) in Gameweek 15 who have been very leaky this season. The Fox’s have conceded 25 goals (17^th), 146 Shots in the Box (20^th), 74 Shots on Target (20^th) and an xGC of 23.3 (17^th). Their defensive numbers have been akin to a relegation threatened team, but their 22 goals scored has kept them out of trouble.

Villa on the other hand have scored 19 goals (7^th) with an xG of 15 (18^th). However, they have turned a corner since the arrival of Steven Gerrard with two wins out of their last three. Their only loss under the ex-Liverpool player was last Gameweek to Man City.

Ollie Watkins possesses plenty of goal and assist threat as he proved last season with 14 goals and 9 assists. He has 28 points (3^rd amongst forwards) in the last five Gameweek’s with goals against West Ham, Brighton and Manchester City.

He is Villa’s number one forward and is nailed to start and with Danny Ings injured just now and Anwar El-Ghazi not a first-team member he will also be on penalties.
