<h2>Who are the Best FPL Midfielders For Gameweek 16?</h2>
<h3>Phil Foden (£8.1m) – Manchester City</h3>
Fixture: Wolves (H)
Phil Foden started his first game since Gameweek 12 last week and reminded us of his ability and FPL prowess. He registered an assist but created 3 Big Chances (1st) with an xA of 1.32 (1st) so really could have had a lot more points.
Over the season in 8 starts, he has 17 Shots in the Box, 10 Shots on Target and an xG of 3.37. He has also created 7 Big Chances with an xA 3.87
He was deployed in the left-wing in Gameweek 15 and has played as a false 9. He has got attacking returns in both these positions which bodes well not only for his chances of starting, as he can cover various roles but also his FPL potential.
Manchester City face Wolves (H) in Gameweek 16 and although Bruno Lage’s men have been fairly solid at the back this season it is going to be a tough ask keeping this City side at bay. Wolves have only conceded 12 goals (3rd) with an xGC of 18.9 (6th).
But looking at City’s attack and their underlying numbers I can only see the Blues coming out triumphant here. They have scored 32 goals (3rd) with 195 Shots in the Box (2nd), 98 Shots on Target (2nd) and an xG of 33.4 (2nd).
The bookmakers have Pep Guardiola’s team as the favourites to score 2.5+ goals (54%) for Gameweek 16 and Foden is also at a healthy 43% to score at anytime.

Mohamed Salah (£13.1m) – Liverpool</h3>
Fixture: Aston Villa (H)
Mohamed Salah now has 13 goals and 10 assists in 15 league games this season. His last and only blank came in Gameweek 2. He has already managed to score double-digit hauls seven times. The Egyptian has the highest xG (10.97) and xA (7.03) in the league and it’s likely he will do so at the end of the season also.
Liverpool come up against Aston Villa at home in Gameweek 16. The Villains have conceded 24 goals (16th) with an xGC of 22.5 (13th) and even since Steven Gerrard’s arrival have conceded four goals in four games.
Liverpool have been the best attacking team in the league by a distance. The Reds have scored 44 goals (1st), with 197 Shots in the Box (1st), 105 Shots on Target (1st) and an xG of 38.5 (1st). No team comes close to them this season in the final third and they will surely come out of this game with another convincing win.
The bookmakers also have Liverpool as the second favourites to score 2.5+ goals (48%) and Mohamed Salah is the clear favourite to score at anytime also at 63%. It’s getting to the point now where it’s almost inevitable he is going to get returns in every game.
Our <a href="https://cms.fantasyfootballhub.co.uk/predictions/">Points Prediction Tool</a> also has Salah as the most likely for predicted points (7.7) amongst all players for Gameweek 16.

<h3>Diogo Jota (£8.0m) - Liverpool</h3>
Fixture: Aston Villa (H)
Diogo Jota has 8 goals and one assist in 12 starts in the league. He has 32 Shots in the box (5th), 15 Shots on Target (6th) and an xG of 7.08 (3rd). He has also created 21 Chances with an xA of 3.89 (5th).
He continues to put up elite level stats and performances and has now even risen £0.5m in price and rightly so.
With a home game against Aston Villa who have conceded 24 goals this season Jota will again be a prime candidate for some attacking returns. Also with him not being in the Champions League squad for their game against AC Milan means he will be nicely rested.
Diogo Jota is also one of the favourites to score anytime for Gameweek 16 (50%) and with the numbers, he and Liverpool are posting just now you would bet he will bag some returns once again.
He is their first choice number 9 and will continue to be so with teammate Roberto Firmino still on the treatment table. It’s not often we get a player of such value nailed to start and I still believe him to be the best value player in the game.

<h3>Jarrod Bowen (£6.4m) – West Ham United</h3>
Fixture: Burnley (a)
Jarrod Bowen has had a fantastic season for West Ham United. He has 3 goals and 7 assists in 14 starts with 27 Shots in the Box (7th), 15 Shots on Target (6th) and an xG of 5.29 (8th). He has also created 19 Chances with an xA of 2.97.
He is another great value option with both goal and assist threat and with him being on <a href="https://cms.fantasyfootballhub.co.uk/?post_type=post&amp;p=11173">corners and free-kicks</a> makes him a fantastic pick this Gameweek and beyond with West Ham’s nice fixtures.
David Moyes’s men travel to Burnley in Gameweek 16. The Clarets have conceded 21 goals (14th) 157 Shots in the Box (20th) and an xGC of 23.7 (15th).
The Hammers on the other hand have been great going forward scoring 28 goals (4th), with 132 Shots in the Box (5th) and an xG of 24.7 (5th).
Bowen has been a consistent performer for them and already has one goal and three assists against Liverpool and Chelsea this season who have among the best defences in the league.
He is only 3.7% owned at the moment but with his goal and assist against Chelsea last week and great fixtures coming that is sure to increase.
He has the best stats and most points (62) amongst the budget midfielders up to £7.0m and I am confident this trend will continue over their run of good fixtures.

<h3>Harvey Barnes (£7.0m) – Leicester City</h3>
Fixture: Newcastle United (H)
Harvey Barnes has been impressive as of late and seems to have won his place back in the team. He has two goals and one assist in his last five games. In eight starts this season he has 18 Shots in the Box with an xG of 3.38 and has created 11 Chances with an xA of 1.68
Leicester City play Newcastle United at home in Gameweek 16. This is a very favourable fixture for Barnes as the Toon have one of the worst defences in the league. They have conceded 30 goals (19th), 138 Shots in the Box (16th), 75 Shots on Target (17th) and an xGC of 28.4 (20th).
Leicester have been good going forward and have had no troubles in the final third. They have scored 23 goals (6th) with an xG of 21.4 (6th). Only teammate Jamie Vardy has more Shots in the Box than Barnes and a higher xG in that Leicester team.
Harvey is the biggest goal threat from the midfield and his average position map shows that he is among the furthest forward players along with Vardy and James Maddison.
Barnes is also high on our <a href="https://cms.fantasyfootballhub.co.uk/predictions/">Price Prediction Tool</a> as it ranks him as the highest budget midfielder up to £7.5m for predicted points (5.8) and he is also at 56% for anytime returns.
