<h2><strong>Best FPL Players for Gameweek 9</strong></h2>
<h3><strong>Kieren Trippier (£6.9m) – Newcastle United</strong></h3>
<p><strong>Fixture: Crystal Palace (H)</strong></p>
<p>Kieran Trippier has five assists for the season, which have all come in the last three matches. He has now created the most chances (27) and has the highest xA among defenders</p>
<p>Newcastle United have a good fixture in Gameweek 9, as they welcome Crystal Palace to St James Park. The Eagles have struggled in front of goal, only netting seven times (third-least) with an xG of 9.13 (fourth-worst).</p>
<p>Also, Newcastle have been solid at the back conceding only nine goals (fourth-least) with an xGC of 8.7 (fourth-best). This is despite playing Aston Villa, Manchester City, Liverpool and Brighton already.</p>
<p>The Toon are also great going forward, which of course means Trippier has a fair chance of both attacking and defensive returns. With him being on plenty of set-pieces, he looks like the best defensive option again this week.</p>
<p>Eddie Howe’s team are also favourites to keep a clean sheet at 50%, and looking at their underlying numbers this is no surprise.</p>

<h3><strong>Erling Haaland (£14.0m) – Manchester City</strong></h3>
<p><strong>Fixture: Brighton (H)</strong></p>
<p>Erling Haaland has eight goals and one assist this season, but has blanked in the last two. He still has the highest xG (7.86) in the league and we know he will be back to scoring sooner rather than later.</p>
<p>It’s very likely that comes in Gameweek 9, as Manchester City host Brighton at the Etihad. Robert De Zerbi’s side are great going forward but are very leaky in defence. They have conceded 16 goals (fourth-most) with an xGC of 14.5 (fourteenth).</p>
<p>Manchester City are the best team in the league, and will very likely score the most goals come the end of the season, with Haaland the likely top goal scorer.</p>
<p>It’s no surprise that City are the favourites (50%) to score 2.5+ goals in Gameweek 9 and Haaland is the favourite to score at anytime (67%).</p>
<p>The Norwegian is nailed to start and on penalties, and will be the most captained player this week for sure. With the attacking style of football Brighton play, it’s very hard not to see this game being a high scoring one.</p>

<p><strong>Fixture: Fulham (H)</strong></p>
<p>Heung-Min Son now has six goals in the league, with an xG of 3.2 and an xA of 1.82. He is the second highest scoring midfielder in the game.</p>
<p>He has been playing as the number nine for Spurs even with <strong>Richarlison (£6.7m)</strong> fit and starting. The South Korean is continuing in the central position, whereas the Brazilian is being played on the left.</p>
<p>Spurs have another great fixture in Gameweek 9 as they take on Fulham at home. The Cottagers have conceded 13 goals (seventh-worst) with an xGC 15.9 (fourth-worst). They do concede a lot of chances.</p>
<p>Tottenham on the other hand are great going forward as we have already seen. They have scored 18 goals (fourth-most) with an xG of 14.93 (eighth) and if Son continues to play as the centre forward, which it looks like he will, then he will no doubt get the majority of their goals.</p>
<p>Ange Postecoglou’s men are also the second favourites (42%) to score 2.5+ goals, and Son is the third favourite to score at anytime (47%).</p>
<p>He is nailed to start and likely to be the first choice penalty taker.</p>
<p>Son is the second highest predicted scoring midfielder (6.9 points) according to our <strong><a href="https://www.fantasyfootballhub.co.uk/predictions">Hub AI Tool</a></strong> in Gameweek 9.</p>

Mohamed Salah (£12.6m) – Liverpool</strong></h3>
<p><strong>Fixture: Everton (H)</strong></p>
<p>Mohamed Salah’s brace last gameweek means he now has five goals and four assists, with an xG of 5.24 (first among-midfielders) and an xA of 2.81 (third overall). He is now the highest scoring player in the game.</p>
<p>The Reds have scored 18 goals (fourth) with an xG of 17.23 (third) and are no doubt one of the best attacking teams in the league.</p>
<p>Liverpool have another plum home fixture, this week against bitter rivals Everton.</p>
<p>Everton have actually been okay defensively despite only keeping one clean sheet. They are in the top six for both goals conceded and xGC.</p>
<p>However, it’s hard to see Jurgen Klopp’s mean struggling against them, and are likely to score a few. They are the joint favourites to score (50%) to score 2.5+ goals also.</p>
<p>The Egyptian is on penalties, and has both goal and assist threat. He is the second favourite to score at anytime (49%) in Gameweek 9.</p>

Bryan Mbeumo (£6.8m) – Brentford</strong></h3>
<p><strong>Fixture: Burnley (H)</strong></p>
<p>Bryan Mbuemo has four goals this season, but has now blanked in his last four games. His underlying numbers have been decent, with an xG of 4.58 (second among midfielders) and an xA of 1.6.</p>
<p>Brentford have had a poor start to the season, with only one win in their first eight games, but they do have a fantastic fixture in Gameweek 9.</p>
<p>They play newly promoted Burnley, who have conceded the second most goals (20) with an xGC of 14.7 (sixth-worst)</p>
<p>Brentford are in the top 10 for both goals scored (11) and xG (14.27) so should have more than enough to put a few past the Clarets.</p>
<p>Mbeumo is still their talisman, is nailed to start and play 90 minutes, and is also the first choice penalty taker. He will always have a chance of points and his stats are solid too.</p>
<p>Although he hasn’t looked as good lately, the fixture is there for him to redeem himself this week.</p>
<p>Mbeumo is at a healthy 32% to score at anytime, and is also the fourth highest predicted scoring midfielder (5.2 points) for Gameweek 9.</p>
