<h2>Best FPL Wildcard Team for Gameweek 33 &#8211; Goalkeepers</h2>
<h3></h3>
<h3>Kasper Schmeichel (£4.9m)</h3>
<p>Schmeichel is the only Leicester asset who appeals at the moment – I don’t rate the Leicester defence that highly, but he does have three double gameweeks coming up, and is the most nailed player in the team at the moment. He also makes plenty of saves, so has good haul potential whenever Leicester are to keep a clean sheet.</p>
<h3 class="ElementDialog__ElementHeading-gmefnd-2 llwlWO">Martin Dubravka (£4.4m)</h3>
<p>I have selected Dubravka as the second keeper, as he rotates well with Schmeichel. He has a better double than Schmeichel this week and is perfectly playable in Gameweeks 34 and 38 as well. Defensively, Newcastle have been really solid, particularly at home where they have conceded just four times in their previous six home games, which bodes well for them heading into Gameweek 33.</p>

<h2>Best FPL Wildcard Team for Gameweek 33 &#8211; Defenders</h2>
<h3>Trent Alexander Arnold (£8.4m)</h3>
<p>Trent is the first name on my Wildcard draft. The defender with the best xGi per 90 this season, playing for one of the best defences in the league, fighting for the title. Non-negotiable.</p>
<h3>Joao Cancelo (£7.0m)</h3>
<p>The defender with the highest number of shots in the league, playing for the defence which has the best xG conceded in the league. Does it get any better than that? If there was ever any doubt regarding Cancelo, he is suspended from the UEFA Champions League semi, and Walker is injured as well. Brighton have scored just thrice in their previous eight games so chances are that any new owners will be rewarded this week straightaway.</p>
<h3>Reece James (£6.3m)</h3>
<p>There is no doubt about James’ potential – the fact that he is only behind Alexander-Arnold among defenders when it comes to xGi per 90 this season should tell you about his explosiveness. He has already registered three FPL scores of 18 points or more this season, and has every chance of adding to that tally with the favourable fixtures Chelsea have coming up &#8211; including two potential double Gameweeks in quick succession in 34 and 36.</p>
<h3>Fabian Schar (£4.4m)</h3>
<p>Schar would be my first choice from the Newcastle defence – both Palace and in particular Leicester have been susceptible to set pieces this season, with Leicester ranked as the side having conceded the highest xG from set plays this season. Schar is on direct free kicks in the absence of Trippier, and has the highest number of goal attempts among all defenders in the league over the past eight Gameweeks, which makes him an explosive option.</p>
<p>It&#8217;s also worth noting that Schar is at a benchable price, and also easily playable when Newcastle play Norwich and Burnley in Gameweeks 34 and 38. Further, the bookmakers have given Newcastle a healthy 55% chance of keeping at least one clean sheet this week, which bodes well for their defence.</p>
<h3 class="qrShPb kno-ecr-pt PZPZlf mfMhoc" data-local-attribute="d3bn" data-attrid="title" data-ved="2ahUKEwiXp8GC7abzAhUzA2MBHcezAHEQ3B0oAXoECF8QCw">Andy Robertson (£7.3m)</h3>
<p>Robertson since picking up form in Gameweek 13 is ranked second among all defenders for xGi, chances created and big chances created. With the best baseline BPS among all Liverpool defenders, Robertson is also comfortably the most likely to pick up bonus points as well. He’s on set pieces too, which seriously boosts him in the chance creation charts. This gives him lots of avenues to points, and serious haul potential.</p>
<p>With Liverpool having so much to play for in the league, I can&#8217;t look past Robertson even at a steep price of £7.3m.</p>

<h2>Best FPL Wildcard Team for Gameweek 33 &#8211; Midfielders</h2>
<h3 data-local-attribute="d3bn" data-attrid="title" data-ved="2ahUKEwiw25uX7abzAhUaCGMBHVCiDHIQ3B0oAXoECFwQCw">Mohamed Salah (£13.2m)</h3>
<p>Salah isn&#8217;t in the best of form, but it must be kept in mind that his non penalty xGi in the second half of the season is actually in line with his numbers from the first half, despite the fall in goal and assist output. He can haul in any fixture, and with Liverpool fighting for the title, it is a huge risk to sell.</p>
<h3 data-local-attribute="d3bn" data-attrid="title" data-ved="2ahUKEwiw25uX7abzAhUaCGMBHVCiDHIQ3B0oAXoECFwQCw">Bukayo Saka (£6.8m)</h3>
<p>Saka has the best xGi among all Arsenal players this season, and remains the standout Arsenal attacker to own. Arsenal have a double in both Gameweek 33 and 36, which makes their attackers appealing to own.</p>
<h3>Dejan Kulusevski (£6.4m)</h3>
<p>Kulusevski is offering really good value at the moment. He is averaging over a return per game over his previous nine starts, and Spurs are in great attacking form. What more can you ask for at that price!</p>
<h3 data-local-attribute="d3bn" data-attrid="title" data-ved="2ahUKEwiw25uX7abzAhUaCGMBHVCiDHIQ3B0oAXoECFwQCw">Gabriel Martinelli (£5.3m)</h3>
<p>Martinelli&#8217;s position hasn&#8217;t been as secure in recent weeks, but Lacazette hasn&#8217;t trained over the past few days, which solidifies the Brazilian&#8217;s role in the team &#8211; possibly even giving him an outside chance of playing as a striker if need be.</p>
<p>Statistically, Martinelli is only slightly behind Saka for minutes per non penalty expected goal involvement (non penalty xGi) among Arsenal players, since he started to string together a succession of starts from Gameweek 14. What I like about Martinelli is the value he offers: he is so cheap that he allows for quite a few upgrades in your FPL squad.</p>
<p>Southampton in particular is a fixture I really like this week &#8211; they seem to have nothing to play for, and are one of the first teams <a href="https://cms.fantasyfootballhub.co.uk/teams-who-are-on-the-beach-fpl-tips-2021-22/">&#8220;on the beach&#8221;</a> this season. No team in the league has conceded more goals or big chances than them in the previous five Gameweeks.</p>
<h3>Anthony Gordon (£4.6m)</h3>
<p>Gordon stands out as the budget enabler to own, with two double gameweeks still to play until the end of the season. Since Lampard has taken over, he is ranked best among all Everton players for shots and xGi.</p>

<h2>Best FPL Wildcard Team for Gameweek 33 &#8211; Forwards</h2>
<h3 data-local-attribute="d3bn" data-attrid="title" data-ved="2ahUKEwiw25uX7abzAhUaCGMBHVCiDHIQ3B0oAXoECFwQCw">Cristiano Ronaldo (£12.2m)</h3>
<p>The upside of the Norwich fixture alone this week is what makes Ronaldo an intriguing prospect. United are ranked by the bookmakers as the side likely to score the most goals this GW. Despite the fact that United have very poor attacking statistics in recent weeks, Ronaldo is still ranked third for non-penalty xGi in the league over the past six matches.</p>
<p>Another argument to captain a Man United player this week is that even though the single gameweek options are great captaincy picks this week, getting on a United captain helps you minimise the variance in play against those who are Free Hitting.</p>
<p>United assets will also possibly give you an additional double gameweek in 34, should Chelsea beat Crystal Palace in the FA Cup (which is given a 76% likelihood by the bookmakers).</p>
<p>Ronaldo has been ranked by the bookmakers as the most likely goal scorer this Gameweek too, which makes him a safe choice. I slightly prefer him to Bruno, as he is likely to have penalties, and has a non-penalty xGi of 9.3 as opposed to 8.5 for Bruno since Rangnick took over.</p>
<p>Norwich are prone to conceding lots of shots, and have the worst xG conceded this season which should bode well for both!</p>
<h3 class="ElementDialog__ElementHeading-gmefnd-2 llwlWO">Chris Wood (£6.7m)</h3>
<p>Even though Newcastle&#8217;s attacking numbers haven’t been great, Leicester are leaky, while Palace have been poor away from home so chances should be plenty for Newcastle. Both their opponents will be coming off the back of their biggest games of the season as well – with Leicester having European and Palace having FA Cup commitments.</p>
<p>I prefer Wood over Saint Maximin, as I believe that penalties are a big factor over two games. Wood’s numbers aren’t great, but he is the best among a bad bunch of forwards at the moment. He has the best xGi among all Newcastle players since Howe has taken over.</p>
<h3 class="ElementDialog__ElementHeading-gmefnd-2 llwlWO">Che Adams (£6.8m)</h3>
<p data-local-attribute="d3bn" data-attrid="title" data-ved="2ahUKEwiw25uX7abzAhUaCGMBHVCiDHIQ3B0oAXoECFwQCw">Adams has the highest xG among all Southampton players over the previous eight matches, and comes up against two teams woefully out of form at the moment. Arsenal have been all over the place since their injuries, while Burnley are without a manager following the departure of Sean Dyche as we head into the gameweek.</p>
