<h2>Is playing the Wildcard in FPL Gameweek 2 a good idea?</h2>
<p>It's arguably a little early to be playing the Wildcard in Gameweek 2, given we have little information to go on.</p>
<p>FPL managers may be looking at their team without <strong>Mohamed Salah </strong>- who top scored in Gameweek 1 - or <strong>Erling Haaland </strong>- who plays Ipswich at home this week - and regretting their decisions.</p>
<p>But things can quickly turn and it will be several weeks before we have a good idea of who the best players are likely to be, together with the best and worst teams to target.</p>
<p>There will be examples of teams in complete disarray, full of picks who aren't as secure for minutes as expected and the likes of <strong>Valentin Barco </strong>going out on loan. If your team is already full of red flags, activating the Wildcard early might not be the worst idea.</p>
<p>In most cases however, patience is likely to be rewarded with better data.</p>
<p>The second Wildcard of the season will not be available until the end of December - Gameweek 20 - which is a long time to have to set up for if wildcarding now.</p>

<h2>Best FPL Wildcard team for Gameweek 2: Fixtures</h2>
<p>Before looking at the AI picks, here are the teams with the best fixtures over the next five gameweeks.</p>
<p>Fulham have the easiest run according to the <a href="https://www.fantasyfootballhub.co.uk/fixture-ticker">Hub's fixture ticker</a>, with two promoted clubs in the next two before successive home games.</p>
<p>FPL managers are unlikely to triple up on Southampton's stars despite them having the second best set of matches.</p>
<p>Their players could prove valuable budget options in the coming weeks though and help to build a solid squad.</p>
<p>Aston Villa have a difficult home game against Arsenal in Gameweek 2 but they beat the Gunners both home and away last season.</p>
<p>After this, they have an extremely enticing run, including home games against Everton and Wolves, with their away trips against promoted clubs.</p>
<p>At the other end of the ticker, West Ham, Newcastle and Brentford have the worst-rated fixtures.</p>
<p>Newcastle's <strong>Alexander Isak </strong>is currently the most-owned player in the game at 58.3% - but with two away games and Manchester City at home between Gameweek 4 and 6, a swap to <strong>Ollie Watkins </strong>could enter many managers' thinking.</p>

<h2>Best FPL Wildcard team for Gameweek 2: Predicted points</h2>
<p>The top 10 of the Hub's <a href="https://www.fantasyfootballhub.co.uk/predictions">predicted points</a> charts sees Salah and Haaland ahead of the rest, with the Egyptian a mere 0.1 ahead over five gameweeks.</p>
<p><strong>Eberechi Eze </strong>looks to be brilliant value at £7.0m, ranking third among mostly players with double-digit price tags.</p>
<p>The premium midfielders dominate the top 10 over this period, with no room for defenders and just three forwards.</p>
<p>Watkins ranks 11th overall, although his position could rise once Arsenal are out of the way.</p>

<h2>The best FPL Gameweek 2 Wildcard team according to Hub AI</h2>
<p>The <a href="https://www.fantasyfootballhub.co.uk/fantasy-football-hub-ai-team-reveal-24-25">Gameweek 1 AI team</a>, which we're following using our <a href="https://www.fantasyfootballhub.co.uk/my-team/transfers">AI recommended transfers</a> each week, got off to a fast start. It scored 91 points in Gameweek 1 and is well set up.</p>
<p>That team was set up in a 3-4-3 formation with Isak, <strong>Kai Havertz </strong>and <strong>Rodrigo Muniz </strong>up top.</p>
