<h2>Best Liverpool FPL players 2024/25: Trent Alexander-Arnold (£7.0m)</h2>
<p>Trent Alexander-Arnold has yet to feature under Liverpool&#8217;s new manager Arne Slot, and as such we are awaiting firm information on the position he will play in Liverpool&#8217;s changed setup.</p>
<p>Whether at fullback or in midfield however, you can be certain that few other defenders will provide the combined goal and assist potential of Alexander-Arnold, and this was the case once again last season, although there was a drop-off in FPL points.</p>
<p>Despite the perception of a lacklustre attacking season, Alexander Arnold still produced eight attacking returns in his 25 starts, and if not for some extremely poor finishing from Liverpool&#8217;s forwards, he may have been closer to the numbers we are used to seeing from the Liverpool man.</p>
<p>No defender created more big chances per 90 than Alexander-Arnold last season, with his 0.71 ahead of <strong>Kieran Trippier (£6.0m) </strong>on 0.56.</p>

<p>It remains to be seen the exact type of role Alexander-Arnold will play under Arne Slot, but you can be certain that he will be integral to the creativity of the team one way or another.</p>
<p>Direct free-kicks remain his speciality, with corners and indirect free-kicks also in his locker, although <strong>Andy Robertson (£6.0m) </strong>and <strong>Dominik Szoboszlai (£6.5m)</strong> will likely take a share of these.</p>
<p>With his price dropping significantly from the last few seasons however, the extra outlay for Alexander-Arnold feels worthwhile given what we know he is capable of.</p>
<p>The trip to Ipswich in Gameweek 1 will tell us more about the Reds&#8217; defensive credentials, but with Slot prioritising possession and control, Liverpool may be able to escape with a clean sheet if they dominate the game to a great enough degree.</p>

<h2>Best Liverpool FPL players 2024/25: Mohamed Salah (£12.5m)</h2>
<p>Mohamed Salah is ranked by <a href="https://www.fantasyfootballhub.co.uk/predictions">Hub AI</a> as the top predicted FPL points scorer, both in Gameweek 1 and over the first five gameweeks.</p>
<p>It is therefore difficult to make an argument not to include the Egyptian, although if there were to be an argument, it would stem largely from his price.</p>
<p>Salah still comes in at £2.5m cheaper than Erling Haaland however, and the opening day fixture is one that screams points for the Liverpool midfielder.</p>

<p>He remains Liverpool&#8217;s penalty taker, and is the most nailed to start among Reds attackers by a distance, offering consistent goal and assist threat regardless of opponent.</p>
<p>The other piece of uncertainty surrounding Salah this season is whether he will operate closer to the touchline under Arne Slot, but this was a strategy already utilised at times by Jurgen Klopp, and we have no specific reason to think he will operate significantly wider this season than last.</p>
<p>Salah&#8217;s touch map from last season suggests that he spent plenty of time out wide, yet the Egyptian still produced 30 attacking returns in just 28 Premier League starts.</p>

<h2>Best Liverpool FPL players 2024/25: Diogo Jota (£7.5m)</h2>
<p>Diogo Jota has been leading the line for Arne Slot&#8217;s Liverpool in pre-season, and with the Portugal man classified as a £7.5m midfielder, he could provide exceptional value for the opening weeks of the season.</p>
<p>Jota produced an impressive 17 attacking returns in just 14 Premier League starts last season, and it was only a string of injuries that prevented him from likely adding further to this tally.</p>
<p>Excluding <strong>Michael Olise</strong> who has now joined Bayern Munich, Jota produced the most FPL points per minute of any player in the Premier League last season &#8211; ahead of the likes of <strong>Erling Haaland (£15.0m) </strong>and <strong>Cole Palmer (£10.5m)</strong>.</p>

<p>Jota faces stiff competition for his starting spot in the form of <strong>Darwin Nunez (£7.5m) </strong>and <strong>Cody Gakpo (£7.5m) </strong>but with both listed as forwards, he gains an immediate fantasy advantage in terms of an extra point for goals and clean sheets.</p>
<p>While there is certain to be rotation in the forward line for the Reds this season, Arne Slot&#8217;s side travel to newly promoted Ipswich on the opening weekend, followed by three home games in the next four.</p>
<p>Darwin and Gakpo are yet to make an appearance in pre-season, and with Brentford, Nottingham Forest, and Bournemouth all making the trip to Anfield in the opening five, Jota could be in for some returns early doors before heavy rotation kicks in.</p>
