<h2><a href="https://cms.fantasyfootballhub.co.uk/fixture-ticker/">Manchester United&#8217;s Fixtures</a></h2>
<p>Manchester United face <strong>Southampton (H)</strong> and <strong>Brighton (H)</strong> in Double Gameweek 25.</p>
<p>From an attacking perspective <strong>both fixtures look favourable</strong>. The eye test would suggest that Brighton have looked slightly off the mark defensively in recent times. Between Gameweeks 20 &#8211; 23 (they didn&#8217;t play in Gameweek 24), Brighton were ranked <strong>13th for xGC (7.1)</strong>.</p>
<p>There has been a clear drop off compared to the season as a whole, where they are ranked fifth-best for the same statistic. The lack of midfield protection and space in front of the centre backs has been the main problem.</p>
<p><strong>Southampton are ranked third worst for xGC (10.3)</strong> between Gameweeks 20 &#8211; 24. Their pressing system, no matter the opposition, will always allow teams to score a multitude of goals against them. <a href="https://cms.fantasyfootballhub.co.uk/fpl-gameweek-24-review-and-reaction-jota-at-the-double/"><strong>Spurs</strong> could have had five in Gameweek 24</a> if they were more clinical. However, on the other hand, they certainly provide a <strong>big attacking threat</strong>.</p>
<p>United have been <strong>very poor defensively</strong> and have faced a lot of shots in the same time period as discussed for Southampton. As such, they are ranked <strong>fourth worst (8.8 ) for xGC</strong> in that time period.</p>

<h2>The Best FPL Players from Manchester United</h2>

<h3>Bruno Fernandes (£11.7m)</h3>
<p>With Manchester United shifting formation to a 4-2-3-1, it has allowed Bruno to play far more centrally as the No. 10. He&#8217;s been able to get on the ball a lot more and create from deeper areas of the pitch more consistently. The fact <strong>he receives the ball a lot more</strong> is a major positive in itself.</p>
<p>I&#8217;d say he&#8217;s the <strong>best Manchester United FPL player</strong> for a number of reasons. He&#8217;s <strong>on set pieces</strong>, will almost certainly play 90 minutes in both games, operates centrally and receives the ball a lot. It&#8217;s hard to argue otherwise.</p>
<p>As previously mentioned, <strong>Brighton have struggled from a lack of midfield protection</strong> which Fernandes can exploit and Southampton&#8217;s natural high press can always be exploited massively. The capacity for them to lose 9-0 like they did at Old Trafford is still there. It&#8217;s unlikely but always possible given their style of play.</p>
<p><strong>Fernandes is ranked fifth-best in the league for xGI (3.3) between Gameweek 20-24</strong>.</p>

<h2>David De Gea (£5.3m)</h2>
<p>Whilst United have been woeful defensively of late, as strange as it may sound, <strong>this can actually benefit De Gea</strong>. United face a <strong>huge amount of shots</strong> in comparison to other big six teams. This means De Ge has the potential to rack up saves. This makes his ceiling much higher, and just one clean sheet could result in a huge haul.</p>
<p>Even though United have been poor defensively, they still have the personnel (to an extent) to produce a very solid performance.</p>
<p>Brighton&#8217;s lack of attacking output/threat means I can certainly see De Gea keeping a clean sheet there. However, it would likely be very difficult against Southampton.</p>
<p><strong>De Gea has the highest xPTS (23.6)</strong> between Gameweek 20-24 of all Manchester United players.</p>

<h2>Cristiano Ronaldo (£12.5m)</h2>
<p>I have already discussed the opposition for the most part, but briefly; the extra space in behind against Southampton will benefit Ronaldo. <strong>The Brighton game is less suited to him</strong> as he will have to play a lot of the game with his back towards goal to help create opportunities.</p>
<p>What concerns me is <a href="https://cms.fantasyfootballhub.co.uk/opta/"><strong>his lack of form</strong></a> and the fact he&#8217;s <strong>unlikely to start both games</strong>.</p>
<p>With four games in 11 days &#8211; one being the Champions League tie (which he will start) &#8211; Rangnick will continue to manage his minutes as he has done previously. Even if he starts both, he will certainly be substituted fairly early in one. I&#8217;d argue that he may see less minutes against Southampton, purely because the game will likely be of a higher intensity.</p>
<p><strong>The lack of form is more concerning</strong>. Failing to score in <strong>five consecutive league games</strong> is his worst drought since 2010, and with an xG of just 0.53 in that time. It&#8217;s certainly alarming.</p>
<p><strong>He doesn&#8217;t pass the eye test</strong> either but then again, he <em>is</em> Cristiano Ronaldo. He still has the capacity to return hauls, especially with <strong>penalties</strong>. If you own him definitely keep him, if you don&#8217;t, it&#8217;s probably not best to rip up the squad to get him.</p>

<h2>Diogo Dalot (£4.6m)</h2>
<p>Dalot is the <a href="https://cms.fantasyfootballhub.co.uk/best-fpl-differentials-for-double-gameweek-25-bigmanbakar/"><strong>differential pick</strong></a>. He&#8217;s a cheap way into the United defence and I imagine, given his recent performances, he&#8217;s <strong>first choice</strong> now.</p>
<p>He provides <strong>good attacking threat</strong>, with much better ball progression than <strong>Aaron Wan-Bissaka</strong>. He certainly has the capacity to provide a double-digit haul, but again, he is a differential for a reason.</p>
<p>This is <strong>by no means a safe pick. </strong>I would only pick him if you really fancy a punt or need someone at this price range for the very short term.</p>
