Who are the best Nottingham Forest FPL players for the 2025/26 season? <h2>Best Nottingham Forest FPL players: Nikola Milenkovic (£5.5m)</h2>
Forest kept 13 clean sheets in 2024/25, the joint second most in the league behind Liverpool (14).
Milenkovic combined this with attacking threat, scoring five goals &#8211; the most among defenders alongside Josko Gvardiol and Marc Cucurella.
At 6ft 5ins, the Serbian centre-back was a target man for set-pieces, with no defender having more headed attempts on goal (21).
All this, combined with Forest&#8217;s early fixtures, would have made him an excellent pick even before the new defensive contributions change.
But now he has been supercharged &#8211; and would have been the top-scoring defender last season.

Milenkovic&#8217;s clearances, blocks, interceptions and tackles would have earned him an extra 26 points.
Priced £0.5m below the premium defenders, he should be on every FPL manager&#8217;s shortlist for selection in Gameweek 1.
The main question though is whether his teammate is an even better pick&#8230;

Murillo would have earned 38 points from defensive contributions last season, with no defender making more clearances, blocks or interceptions.
He therefore looks an even better prospect to earn the new points than his centre-back partner.
The Brazilian was not as attacking, scoring only two goals and registering a lower expected goals (xG) tally &#8211; 1.47 to Milenkovic&#8217;s 3.79.
But he had a similar number of shots on goal (25) &#8211; four fewer than Milenkovic.
With defensive contributions applied, he would have finished on 168 points, second ahead of Virgil van Dijk (165) and Josko Gvardiol (163).
There&#8217;s almost nothing to split the Forest centre-backs then, making a double up a real possibility.

Wood had the best season of his career, scoring 20 league goals and assisting three.
Only premium picks Erling Haaland, Mohamed Salah and Alexander Isak managed more goals, leading the New Zealander to score 200 FPL points (fifth).
While it&#8217;s the Forest defenders who are in the limelight ahead of Gameweek 1, adding Wood to your squad should not be dismissed.
It&#8217;s unlikely he&#8217;ll do as well this season, with his 13.56 xG suggesting a significant over-performance.
But given the initial fixtures and relative lack of appealing forward options, Wood rightfully deserves consideration.
Hub AI predicts around 30 points over the first six gameweeks, the third best among forwards.

Anderson is another player to benefit heavily from the defensive points addition.
He would have seen a 36 point boost to his score, taking him to 143 &#8211; about the same as 10 goal, five assist winger Kaoru Mitoma.
The former Newcastle midfielder scored two and assisted six last season and could take more set-pieces now Anthony Elanga has left the club.
He should offer more going forward than Chelsea&#8217;s Moises Caicedo, the top earner of the new points (42) among midfielders.
And at £5.5m, Anderson should enable valuable funds to be spent on more premium options elsewhere in your squad.
