Who are the best Southampton FPL players for the 2024/25 season?

<h2>Best Southampton FPL players 2024/25: Adam Armstrong (£5.5m)</h2>
Armstrong was a talismanic figure for Southampton last season, leading the way for both goals and assists.
He scored 21 and assisted 13 and was 14 goal involvements ahead of Che Adams in second place.
With an extra three goals in the playoffs, he finished second in the Championship top scorers&#8217; chart.
The forward is on penalties and some direct free-kicks, so has multiple routes to FPL points.
Last time Southampton were in the Premier League, Armstrong scored just two in 23 games, having started 17.
But he and Saints should be a different prospect this season, with their style of play transformed under Russell Martin.
Newcastle away is a tough test in Gameweek 1, however the fixtures look better for the promoted club afterwards.
Armstrong ranks second among forwards priced at £5.5m and below, 0.6 <a href="https://www.fantasyfootballhub.co.uk/predictions">predicted points</a> behind Joao Pedro at the time of writing.

<h2>Best Southampton FPL players 2024/25: Ben Brereton Diaz (£5.5m)</h2>
Brereton Diaz impressed in the Premier League last season, despite playing for a poor Sheffield United team.
He scored six and assisted one in 14 games after joining the relegated Blades on loan in January.
The former Villarreal forward, who is listed as a midfielder in FPL, averaged a very respectable 4.43 points per game, just ahead of his 4.37 expected points.
This record clearly carries plenty of weight with Hub AI, who rank him as the top Southampton choice over the first five gameweeks &#8211; nearly two predicted points ahead of Armstrong.
The departure of Che Adams should give Brereton Diaz a path straight into Saints&#8217; starting 11 and he could be a good option in the budget midfield slot.
No other player in his price bracket has better <a href="https://www.fantasyfootballhub.co.uk/predictions">predicted points</a> in the opening five weeks.

<h2>Best Southampton FPL players 2024/25: Taylor Harwood-Bellis (£4.0m)</h2>
Harwood-Bellis has signed a permanent deal after joining on loan from Manchester City last season.
Southampton paid £20m to seal the deal and he should be a nailed starter in Gameweek 1.
The English centre-back, 22, started 40 games in the Championship last season. He scored two goals and assisted three.
Harwood-Bellis is not the only £4.0m defender among Southampton&#8217;s ranks, with several to choose from, but he is the pick of the bunch.
He has a better disciplinary record than Jan Bednarek, who picked up 12 yellow cards last season to his three.
Charlie Taylor could emerge as a strong budget option at left-back but his place in the team is less assured than Harwood-Bellis&#8217;s.
