The FPL Gameweek 1 deadline is today (Friday, August 16) &#8211; but which summer signings should be considered when drafting your final teams?
The transfer window remains open until August 30, so there&#8217;s still time for some potential gems to be signed by Premier League clubs.
But for now, we&#8217;ll focus on five players ready to go in Gameweek 1.
It&#8217;s often the case that new arrivals are a matter of &#8216;wait and see&#8217;, however we think this select group have merit in at least being considered for your teams.

<h2>Dominic Solanke (£7.5m) &#8211; FOR</h2>
Most summer signings start the season at a disadvantage, having to adapt to both a new team and the Premier League.
There&#8217;s no adaptation to the league for Solanke though, who has plenty of experience in the top flight.
The former Bournemouth striker scored 19 goals for the Cherries last season, the joint-fourth most in the league.

And a move to Spurs has seen his FPL ownership rise to over 28%.
The argument for owning Solanke is centred around Spurs&#8217; stronger attack.
The London club scored 74 goals last season (seventh), recorded 107 big chances (sixth) and expected goals (xG) of 68.29 (sixth).
Bournemouth in comparison scored 54 (14th), had 84 big chances (11th) and 57.63 xG (10th).

Those who fancy Solanke will naturally point to the stronger attacking numbers for his new side, with more chances likely to come his way.
But it&#8217;s not necessarily that straightforward.
Solanke may take some time to gel with his teammates, even if he is used to the league, while being part of a better squad also potentially affects his expected minutes.
He could usually be relied upon to play the whole game at Bournemouth, however he may suffer from more earlier substitutions at Spurs.
Penalties are no guarantee, either, with no pre-season clues given he joined too late to be involved in any friendlies.
He is however likely to start in Gameweek 1 and if FPL managers can afford him, he could reward backers handsomely.
<h2>Ben Brereton Diaz (£5.5m) &#8211; MID</h2>
Brereton Diaz is another player with Premier League experience, having joined Sheffield United on loan in January.
Now at newly promoted Southampton, the ex-Villarreal player is a likely starter up front, offering an out-of-position option in FPL.
Despite playing for the struggling Blades, he still managed six goals and one assist over 14 appearances.
<a href="https://www.fantasyfootballhub.co.uk/predictions">Hub AI</a> rates him highly for the start of the season, ranking him first among all midfielders priced at £5.5m and below for predicted points between Gameweek 1 and 4.
Saints start the season with a tricky trip to Newcastle, however the fixtures look much better after that, ranking second on our <a href="https://www.fantasyfootballhub.co.uk/fixture-ticker">ticker</a> for overall difficulty between Gameweek 2 and 6.
Brereton Diaz scored in his first <a href="https://www.fantasyfootballhub.co.uk/fpl-pre-season-results-guide">pre-season</a> start for his new club and could be a good bet at his budget price.

<h2>Emile Smith Rowe (£5.5m) &#8211; MID</h2>
Emile Smith Rowe has plenty of Premier League pedigree, scoring 12 goals and assisting 10 in 80 games for Arsenal.
Injuries hampered his progress at the Gunners, while he struggled to break into the team last season.
He now has a chance of a fresh start at Fulham, who have the best fixtures between Gameweek 2 and 6.
Smith Rowe played in two pre-season friendlies and made a fast start, scoring in both matches.
Just as importantly, he played 81 minutes in the final warm-up game and looks set to start the season.
Some early substitutions seem likely early on but with his early fixture run, Smith Rowe is one of the best budget midfielders.

<h2>Yankuba Minteh (£5.5m) &#8211; MID</h2>
Minteh could be Brighton&#8217;s next young star, having had a superb pre-season for the Seagulls.
The winger scored three and assisted two and looks to be the favourite to play on the right for Fabian Hurzeler&#8217;s team at the start of the season.
Brighton have strengthened in his position through the purchase of Brajan Gruda and anyone signing Brighton players must deal with the risk of some early rotation or substitutions.
Minteh could be worth it though, especially if FPL managers are not planning to rely on him every week and have a strong bench.
Brighton&#8217;s early fixtures are challenging though, which may make him more of a wait and see than the other options at £5.5m.

<h2>Daichi Kamada (£5.5m) &#8211; MID</h2>
It won&#8217;t have escaped your attention that the majority of this list is made up of £5.5m midfielders, however having a batch of bargain picks could be a real bonus this season when it comes to affording the premium picks.
Having two midfielders at this price point is a viable strategy, particularly for those looking to fit in both Mohamed Salah (£12.5m) and Erling Haaland (£15.0m).

Kamada is another new signing with a solid pre-season behind him, with two goals and two assists.
He is not familiar with the league but is familiar with Crystal Palace boss Oliver Glasner, who he worked under at Eintracht Frankfurt.
Most of the initial focus on Palace midfielders in FPL has been towards Eberechi Eze (£7.0m).
But some are wavering over his expected minutes, with rumours of a move to Manchester City emerging.
While Eze should be fine to start the season with unless more concrete news comes out, Kamada could be a natural replacement for those worried about the England international.
