<h2>Raphinha: Breaking The FPL Template Gameweek 23</h2>
<p><strong>Raphinha (£6.5m)</strong> produced a scintillating performance against West Ham United leaving owners again wondering how he managed to dodge a double-digit <strong>FPL point haul</strong>.</p>
<p>The Brazilian struck the woodwork with a thunderous free kick and was denied a second assist when the goal-bound effort of <strong>Mateuz Klich (£5.2m)</strong> was adjudged offside by VAR review.</p>
<p>Against the Hammers, Raphinha was at his talismanic best. He <strong>provided the assist</strong> which sealed a hat-trick for <strong>Jack Harrison (£5.5m)</strong> while creating seven chances, two of them big chances. Raphinha has produced <a href="https://cms.fantasyfootballhub.co.uk/opta/"><strong>strong underlying numbers</strong></a> over the last six matches ranking amongst midfielders fifth for shots (18).</p>
<p>Creatively, Raphinha has excelled, ranking among midfielders joint-fourth for key passes (14) and <strong>joint-best for big chances created</strong> (4) over the period. Notably, Raphinha holds a majority stake in <strong>set-pieces</strong>, taking 56% of Leeds United’s combined dead ball attempts (130) this season.</p>

<h2>Leeds United Fixtures: Breaking The FPL Template Gameweek 23</h2>
<p>In terms of <a href="https://cms.fantasyfootballhub.co.uk/fixture-ticker/"><strong>fixtures</strong></a>, Leeds United rank joint-third on <a href="https://cms.fantasyfootballhub.co.uk/fixture-ticker/"><strong>Hub’s FPL fixture ticker</strong></a> over the next six matches when sorted by attack. In the immediate Gameweek 23, Leeds undoubtedly boast the tie of the round, hosting an abject Newcastle United in desperate need of improvement.</p>
<p>Over the last six matches, the Magpies rank joint-fourth worst for goals conceded (13) registering a single clean-sheet. Newcastle are particularly vulnerable from the dead-ball, undeniably a Raphinha strength, ranking third-worst for set-piece attempts conceded (32) over the period.</p>
<p>In Gameweek 24, Leeds travel to face a much-improved Aston Villa side that rank seventh-best for shots on target conceded (26) over the last six. In Gameweek 25, Leeds travel to face an Everton side that rank second-worst for goals conceded (14) and set-piece attempts conceded (35).</p>

<h2>Aston Villa: Breaking The FPL Template Gameweek 23</h2>
<p><a href="https://cms.fantasyfootballhub.co.uk/fixture-ticker/"><strong>An enticing run of fixtures</strong></a> and improvement brought from the arrival of manager Steven Gerrard has breathed new life in Aston Villa’s FPL options. The ex-Rangers supremo has deployed his trademark compact 4-3-2-1 formation with “twin 10’s” operating behind a lone striker and width provided predominantly by the full-backs.</p>
<p>The recent acquisitions of <strong>Lucas Digne (£5.0m)</strong> and <strong>Phillipe Coutinho (£7.0m)</strong> very much fit the profile of improving the left-hand side of this system. The width provided by the full-backs will allow Coutinho and <strong>Emiliano Buendia (£6.2m)</strong> to operate effectively as an inside-forwards and combine with <strong>Ollie Watkins (£7.7m)</strong> to create five in attack.</p>

<h2>Aston Villa Data: Breaking The FPL Template Gameweek 23</h2>
<p>In terms of attack, over the last six Aston Villa rank joint-ninth for shots (71) and sixth for shots inside the box (50). Over the period, Villa rank joint-tenth for big chances (9) and joint-third worst for set-piece attempts (15).</p>
<p>Villa have improved defensively under Gerrard ranking over the last six seventh-best for shots conceded on target (26). Furthermore, Villa are not conceding big volumes for chances quality ranking a mid-table for big chances conceded (12).</p>

<h2>Matt Cash or Lucas Digne: Breaking The FPL Template Gameweek 23</h2>
<p>While the sample size is small, Digne occupied a very advanced position on his Villa debut against Manchester United in Double Gameweek 22. The Frenchman produced a solid attacking display with two shots inside the box, two chances created and six crosses attempted.</p>
<p><strong>Matt Cash (£5.1m)</strong> has a greater sample of data under Gerrard with the Poland international attempting five shots inside the box over the last six. Furthermore, in terms of distribution Cash has attempted 23 crosses and created 10 chances over the period.</p>

<h2>Aston Villa Attack: Breaking The FPL Template Gameweek 23</h2>
<p>Among Villa’s attacker&#8217;s, Ollie Watkins enjoys the security of both starts and minutes with the former Brentford marksman ever-present over the last six. In terms of goal threat, over the last six Watkins ranks among forwards joint-eight for shots (14) with all these attempts taken from inside the box.</p>
<p>Among forwards Ollie Watkins ranks third over the last six for penalty area touches (38) bettered by only <strong>Harry Kane (£12.3m)</strong> and <strong>Cristiano Ronaldo (£12.5m)</strong>. Watkins also demonstrated respectable creativity over the period in comparison to his forward counterparts ranking joint-third for chances created (8).</p>
<p>While the data sample for Coutinho is virtually non-existent the performance of his attacking midfield Emi Buendia gives us an idea of what to expect. Interestingly, over the period Buendia has attempted one cross over the last six further highlighting Gerrard’s desire for his attacking midfielders to operate as inside-forwards.</p>

<p>In terms of fixtures, Aston Villa rank first on <a href="https://cms.fantasyfootballhub.co.uk/fixture-ticker/"><strong>Hub’s ticker</strong></a> over the next six matches when sorted by overall strength. During this favourable run, Villa faces the division’s most porous opposition who, over the last six matches, have combined for a meagre two clean sheets.</p>
<p>In addition, Aston Villa have <strong>hugely appealing postponed fixtures</strong> against both Burnley and Leeds United to be rescheduled. If these outstanding fixtures are added to their schedule over the next six Aston Villa options will be highly desirable FPL prospects.</p>

<p>As we move towards the deadline for Gameweek 23 the likelihood of a mooted immediate double gameweek for Leeds and Aston Villa appear to be dissipating. <strong>Raphinha</strong> has recent production, undoubtedly the match-up of the gameweek, and that all-important differential status to go big in Gameweek 23.</p>
<p>In terms of Villa attack, my immediate choice would be for the security of minutes and <strong>Ollie Watkins</strong> while <strong>Phillipe Coutinho</strong> gains all-important fitness. Of the Villa’s defensive options my preference would be for <strong>Lucas Digne</strong> given his set-piece threat and the quality of his final ball.</p>
