Mbeumo scored 20 league goals for the first time in his career, helping him achieve the second highest FPL points score in the game.
Only Mohamed Salah managed more goal involvements, with his nine assists putting him alongside Alexander Isak on 29.
It&#8217;s worth noting that the Cameroonian only posted an expected goals (xG) total of 12.44 &#8211; the second biggest over-performance in Europe&#8217;s top five leagues.
But with multiple routes to points, including penalties and set-pieces, Mbeumo was a must-have FPL pick.
His standout season attracted attention from Manchester United &#8211; <a href="https://www.fantasyfootballhub.co.uk/fpl-transfers-cunha-mbeumo-manchester-united">will he remain an elite option having moved to Old Trafford</a>?

The departure of Ivan Toney and pre-season injury to new striker Igor Thiago left the way clear for Wissa to become a regular starter.
It was an opportunity he grabbed with both hands, combining superbly with Mbeumo to score 18 and assist six.
There was no xG over-performance here, with Wissa&#8217;s goals matching his 18.37 xG.
Wissa ranked eighth for FPL points and third among forwards.

The fireworks from Mbeumo and Wissa took the spotlight away from Schade, who had a personal best season of his own.
He scored 11 and assisted four, peaking in Gameweek 13 with a 23 point return against Leicester when he scored a hat-trick.
The German ended the season well too, with scores of eight, 14 and 11 between Gameweek 34 and 36.

<h2>Brentford FPL stats: Record goals tally</h2>
Brentford finished the season in 10th, their second best placing in their four seasons in the top flight.
A place in Europe was a possibility in the latter stages of the season, although the Bees fell just short in the end.
Attacking play was their strong suit &#8211; and with Mbeumo and Wissa leading the way, they scored the sixth most goals in the league (66).
This was slightly ahead of their 60.03 xG, however this was still the eighth best total &#8211; and most they&#8217;ve managed in the Premier League &#8211;  demonstrating that they held their own in comparison to the Europe-chasing teams.
For three seasons running, Brentford&#8217;s xG has ranked seventh or eighth &#8211; a significant achievement for a club with one of the lowest wage bills.

Defensively, the <a href="https://cms.fantasyfootballhub.co.uk/opta/" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c="1" title="FPL Stats by OPTA - Player and Team Stats">stats</a> don&#8217;t look as strong but they still highlight that the Bees are a solid midtable team.
Their 57 goals conceded was the 13th best, as was their 54.7 expected goals conceded (xGC).
Brentford ranked sixth for xGC in the previous two seasons but while 13th looks like a step backwards, the actual number was almost identical to last season&#8217;s 55.7.
They kept eight clean sheets, so investment in their back line was rarely rewarded, but Mark Flekken and James Collins did make it well past the 100 points mark.
And with the new <a href="https://www.fantasyfootballhub.co.uk/fpl-2025-26-changes-defensive-contributions">defensive contributions</a> rules, their defenders could be more appealing. Collins for example had the second most clearances, blocks and interceptions among all defenders.

<h2>First six fixtures: Buy or avoid Brentford picks in FPL?</h2>
Hub <a href="https://www.fantasyfootballhub.co.uk/fixture-ticker">fixture ticker</a> rank: Seventh
It&#8217;s a mixed bag to start with for the Bees but they still have one of the best fixture runs according to the Hub&#8217;s ticker.
Sunderland (A) is the highlight, while Nottingham Forest (A) could represent a difficult start in Gameweek 1.
The wider issue with Brentford is not the strength of their fixtures but how they will fare without Frank, Flekken and Mbeumo.
Interest among FPL managers may be limited, certainly in the early days.
And while their opening run is ranked inside the top half, it&#8217;s not strong enough to make their players a must-have.

<h2>Brentford&#8217;s new manager: How will they set up under Andrews?</h2>
Brentford promoted set-piece coach Andrews to the vacant manager role in June.
Andrews, who joined Frank&#8217;s coaching team in July 2024, has never made it past assistant manager level.
It could be a risk &#8211; but Brentford are no strangers to doing things differently.
They have been at the forefront of football&#8217;s data revolution in player recruitment and development, while they also promoted Frank from assistant coach when he became manager in 2018.
The challenge FPL managers have is working out how Andrews will set his team up without any previous history &#8211; but continuity with the Frank era may be the goal given the Bees recruited from within.
Director of football Phil Giles said:
<blockquote>“Keith will bring his own evolution but isn’t starting from scratch, so hopefully we can make some quick progress.
“He’s a very good coach and has clear ideas about how he wants the team to improve. We were looking for somebody not just to maintain what we’ve been doing but actually try and get better.”</blockquote>
Improvement will be a huge challenge given what Brentford have achieved in relation to their budget &#8211; but <a href="https://www.fantasyfootballhub.co.uk/fpl-pre-season-results-guide">pre-season</a> will be crucial for learning more about how Andrews will approach the task.
The Bees have only played one friendly at the time of writing, with the match very much a fitness-building exercise with different 11s in either half.

<h2>Brentford predicted lineup for FPL Gameweek 1</h2>
It&#8217;s a season of change at the Gtech Community Stadium, with Flekken, Mbeumo and Christian Norgaard joining Frank in leaving the club.
Wissa is also attracting interest from Newcastle, with the forward leaving their training camp in Portugal amid the speculation.
New players and management make it harder to predict Brentford&#8217;s starting 11 and prospects.
It&#8217;s also not yet clear whether long-term-injured full-backs Aaron Hickey and Rico Henry &#8211; who played a part in the Bees&#8217; first friendly &#8211; will be fit enough to start from Gameweek 1.

Caoimhin Kelleher will be Brentford&#8217;s first-choice, having left Champions Liverpool in the summer transfer window.
Jordan Henderson is another former Red who has joined Keith Andrews&#8217; squad, coming in to replace Norgaard who has joined Arsenal.
He and Mathias Jensen will have competition from another newboy in 20-year-old Antoni Milambo and Yehor Yarmolyuk, who made 31 appearances last season.
Right-back Michael Kayode impressed enough on loan last season to earn a permanent move and could be in pole position to start in Gameweek 1.
Transfer rumours and missing out on much of the Portugal training camp sees Wissa miss out for now, although he would be a favourite to start if he stays.
Igor Thiago scored in Brentford&#8217;s opening friendly and could be on penalties if Wissa departs.
And Mbeumo&#8217;s absence leaves a big gap on the right, which could be filled by Fabio Carvalho subject to incomings. Omari Hutchinson of Ipswich has been linked.
Romelle Donovan has joined from Birmingham permanently having played for Brentford B on loan last season. He has been promoted to the first-team squad but the 18-year-old winger is unlikely to be a starter straight away.
