It&#8217;s a summer of change at Brighton, with star player Joao Pedro departing for Chelsea, a Greek attacking duo joining and a potentially exciting new left-back in Maxim De Cuyper.
Here, we take a look at the key issues from a Fantasy Premier League (FPL) perspective and assess whether any of the Seagulls&#8217; new arrivals are worth considering in Gameweek 1.

<h2>De Cuyper: Will attacking full-back be a regular starter?</h2>
De Cuyper has joined Brighton from Club Brugge in a €20m deal &#8211; and his attacking <a href="https://cms.fantasyfootballhub.co.uk/opta/" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c="1" title="FPL Stats by OPTA - Player and Team Stats">stats</a> look appealing.
The 24-year-old racked up nine goals and 22 assists in 114 games for the Belgian side and has experience in all three UEFA European competitions, as well as three goals in 10 international appearances.
Having played for two Belgian clubs since 2022, De Cuyper managed 37 goal involvements in his country&#8217;s top flight &#8211; the third highest among all defenders in the top 10 European leagues, according to Opta.
He can play on both sides of the pitch, from full-back to winger, although it&#8217;s left-back where Brighton manager Fabian Hurzeler sees him:

FPL managers cannot expect De Cuyper to keep up this attacking level in the Premier League given the step up in quality.
And he is unlikely to have penalty duties at his new club, despite scoring seven since 2022.
But his attacking mindset is an encouraging sign and could make him a standout option among Brighton&#8217;s defenders.
Pervis Estupinan leaving has boosted his potential for regular game time.
Ferdi Kadioglu is another threat to his minutes, however he has been building up his fitness following a period of injury.
De Cuyper played 85 minutes in the Seagulls&#8217; latest <a href="https://www.fantasyfootballhub.co.uk/fpl-pre-season-results-guide">friendly</a>.
Brighton rank in the bottom half for fixture difficulty over the first six gameweeks, according to our <a href="https://www.fantasyfootballhub.co.uk/fixture-ticker">ticker,</a> however De Cuyper could soon be on FPL managers&#8217; radars.
<h2>New centre-backs: Shift to a back three?</h2>
Brighton have bolstered their defensive options by signing centre-backs Olivier Boscagli, 27, and Diego Coppola, 21.
Boscagli is a pacey, progressive passer from PSV Eindhoven, while Coppola is a more physical presence from Hellas Verona who scored a header within seconds of his debut in pre-season.
Both are potential starters, although Boscagli is the more experienced of the two.
Jan Paul van Hecke should retain his place in Brighton&#8217;s 11 and some Brighton fans have speculated that their summer business hints at a move to a back three &#8211; something Hurzeler used at former club St Pauli.
Veteran Lewis Dunk will also be in the mix too, although the 33-year-old could play a lesser role this season.
Should the Seagulls play a back three, it could increase the appeal of De Cuyper or whoever plays at left wing-back. Tariq Lamptey, Jack Hinshelwood and Yankubah Minteh would be candidates on the right but Minteh would be classed as a midfielder in FPL.
But despite the speculation, it&#8217;s been a back four in the friendlies so far &#8211; and Hurzeler may opt for experience and field Dunk and Van Hecke early on.

<h2>Tzimas and Kostoulas: Brighton&#8217;s Greek wonderkids</h2>
There are two new Greek attackers for FPL managers to get accustomed to this season.
Stefanos Tzimas is a 19-year-old striker, who joined from Nuremberg for a fee of around £22m.
Countryman Charalampos Kostoulas was a £29m purchase from Olympiakos and is also young prospect at 18.
Tzimas is an out-and-out striker, scoring 12 goals and assisting three in 23 Bundesliga games last season, and has taken the number nine shirt this season.
Kostoulas meanwhile looks more like a Joao Pedro replacement, capable of playing in attacking midfield as well as up front.
He managed six goals and one assist in last season&#8217;s Greek Super League, adding an assist in the Europa League to his tally.
While the fees for both teenagers indicate Brighton&#8217;s confidence in their potential, they may have to wait to establish themselves as regular starters. <a href="https://www.sussexexpress.co.uk/sport/football/brighton-and-hove-albion/we-dont-want-to-risk-fabian-hurzeler-reveals-why-brightons-new-ps50m-strike-duo-havent-featured-in-pre-season-yet-5254455">Neither have featured in pre-season</a> at the time of writing.
Danny Welbeck is expected to lead the line, while Brighton have plenty of alternatives behind him.
Georginio Rutter, Brajan Gruda and Matt O&#8217;Riley are the main number 10 options.
