Gameweek 6 is over and Fantasy Premier League (FPL) managers are already busy making transfers during the international break &#8211; but who were the biggest under-performers of the week and who scored more points than they should have?
Every season, we see the biggest haulers of the previous gameweek brought into hundreds of thousands of teams.
But the secret to success in FPL is to jump on players who are about to score more points &#8211; not chasing points.
So with this in mind, we&#8217;re taking a look at the expected points for FPL Gameweek 6 and highlighting those who were fortunate to score well &#8211; and who perhaps could have netted a haul themselves.
We&#8217;ll also examine an early list of the most popular transfers in and out. Are the early bandwagons worth jumping on &#8211; and are some players being moved on in disgust too early?

<h2>Transfer bandwagons and knee-jerks</h2>
An 8-0 win for Newcastle over Sheffield United has unsurprisingly seen a surge in Newcastle-based transfers.
Sven Botman (£4.7m) tops the list of transfers in so far, with more than 300,000 managers bringing him in after his goal and clean sheet.
Kieran Trippier (£6.6m), who recorded three assists and maximum bonus, sits in third place behind Son Heung-min (£9.2m), who scored twice against Arsenal.
But apart from Anthony Gordon (£5.6m), there are currently no other Magpies in the top 20, with the likes of Alexander Isak (£7.6m) and Callum Wilson (£7.8m) not making the list.
That may be explained by last week&#8217;s mass investment in Julian Alvarez (£7.0m), who despite a blank in Gameweek 6 has another favourable fixture against Wolves to come.
Kaoru Mitoma (£6.6m), who came off the bench to score twice for Brighton, and Carlton Morris (£5.5m) complete the top five.
Morris, who converted from the spot, is likely to come into plenty more teams this week, with Luton having a <a href="https://www.fantasyfootballhub.co.uk/fpl-blank-double-gameweek-guide">double gameweek</a>.

At the other end of the scale, Ben Chilwell (£5.6m) has been moved out of 379,000 teams after his second benching in a row.
Red cards account for Rodri (£5.7m) and Malo Gusto (£4.3m) losing their places in many an FPL team, while Nicolas Jackson (£7.0m) also faces a ban after picking up five yellow cards.
Marcus Rashford (£8.9m) makes it into the top five. The Manchester United midfielder failed to register an attacking return against Burnley, although two home games in the next two could see sellers regret their decision.

<h2>Gameweek 6 over-performers</h2>
Trippier, Mitoma and Kyle Walker (£5.3m) are three players in the top five over-performers in Gameweek 6 to also be among the top 10 most popular transfers in this week.

Trippier was the top FPL points scorer of the week on 18. He bettered his expected points by nearly 10, with his three assists coming against an expected assists tally of 0.92.
New owners should not expect such significant returns every week. He was able to exploit Sheffield United&#8217;s weakness at defending set-pieces, as set out in our <a href="https://www.fantasyfootballhub.co.uk/fpl-gameweek-6-fixtures-analysed">fixture analysis</a> last week.
But there is a case for expecting more returns going forward.
The full-back ranks top among defenders for key passes (17) and successful crosses (16). Only Pervis Estupinan (£5.3m) is ahead of him for xA and big chances created.
Newcastle meanwhile still have a good run of fixtures, ranking fifth on our <a href="https://www.fantasyfootballhub.co.uk/fixture-ticker">fixture ticker</a> for defensive prospects over the next five gameweeks.

Mitoma was introduced after half-time in Brighton&#8217;s win over Bournemouth.
He scored twice, with an expected goals (xG) tally of 0.96, to give owners an unexpected boost after his benching.
Buying Mitoma ahead of Gameweek 7 arguably has a high &#8216;chasing points&#8217; factor to it though, given Brighton rank bottom for attacking fixtures over the next five.
Aston Villa away, Liverpool at home and Manchester City away await Roberto De Zerbi&#8217;s side in the next three gameweeks.
In buyers&#8217; defence, the Seagulls have shown they can score against anyone and have racked up the second-highest xG behind City (14.6).
Granted that has come amid a run of kind fixtures, however last season&#8217;s <a href="https://cms.fantasyfootballhub.co.uk/opta/" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c="1" title="FPL Stats by OPTA - Player and Team Stats">stats</a> suggest they can maintain one of the best goalscoring records in the division.
Rotation will continue to be an issue, given Brighton&#8217;s participation in the Europa League. Mitoma&#8217;s benching came after their debut in the competition.

City full-back Walker has effectively been playing as a right-winger in Pep Guardiola&#8217;s system and that helped him to an assist in Gameweek 6.
His assist came against an xA of 0.04, helped by a fine finish from Phil Foden (£7.6m).
Walker has explained that he has been playing higher up the pitch this season, while Foden told Match of the Day he was &#8216;building a great relationship&#8217; with the defender.
No defender has more passes in the final third than Walker and although he over-performed this week, his season return of 29 points is broadly similar to his expected points of 26.71.
City&#8217;s fixtures toughen from Gameweek 8, however should Walker continue to play in his advanced role, he could be the pick of City&#8217;s defensive options in FPL.

<h2>Gameweek 6 under-performers</h2>
There were few significant under-performers in Gameweek 6.
Brennan Johnson (£5.8m) was top, having missing two big chances and failing to score amid an xG of 0.91.
Callum Wilson (£7.8m) scored against Sheffield United but his three big chances indicated there were even more goals in the offing for the Magpies.
Looking at the season-long figures, top-five transfer out Jackson leads the way for under-performance.
The Chelsea forward&#8217;s FPL points total is 16.4 short of his expected points, representing a disappointing run for the Senegalese international.
