<h2>World Cup Fantasy 2022: Where can I find the game?</h2>
<p>The game was launched on Friday afternoon (November 4). It can be found <a href="https://play.fifa.com/fantasy-classic/">here</a>.</p>
<p>There are a number of different games this year, including a daily fantasy game (coming soon) and a match predictor challenge, but this guide will focus on the &#8216;classic&#8217; version.</p>
<h2>How do I create a team in World Cup Fantasy 2022?</h2>
<p>The first thing you&#8217;ll be asked to do is create a team, which you can do so by clicking &#8216;Get Started&#8217; on the homepage.</p>
<p>You&#8217;ll need to pick a starting 11 plus a four-man bench, making 15 players in total &#8211; but you can click &#8216;Auto pick&#8217; for the time being if you wish just to kick things off.</p>
<p>By clicking &#8216;Confirm&#8217; at the bottom of the screen, you&#8217;ll be invited to create a Fifa+ account or sign into your existing one.</p>
<p>Once the formalities have been completed, you&#8217;re free to explore the game in more detail.</p>

<p>Your budget is £100m for the 15 players. There are eight formations available.</p>

<p>Yes &#8211; but it varies depending on the stage of the competition. The official rules have the following table:</p>

<h2>How many transfers are available in World Cup Fantasy 2022? How do transfers work?</h2>
<p>You have unlimited transfers up until the kick-off of the first match of the tournament &#8211; Qatar v Ecuador at 16:00 on Sunday, November 20.</p>
<p>A single transfer can be saved and carried over into the next matchday during the group stages but between the last game of Matchday 3 and the start of the Round of 16, this is not permitted as there will be unlimited transfers at this point.</p>
<p>Like in FPL, more transfers can be made &#8211; but each one will deduct three points from your total.</p>

<p>If a player has already played in the current matchday and you transfer them out, the new player will not score points until the next matchday.</p>
<p>Players will become &#8216;locked&#8217; as soon as their team plays in the current matchday &#8211; the lock will be lifted once the matchday has been concluded.</p>
<h2>How do I score points in World Cup Fantasy 2022?</h2>
<p>The points system differs depending on the players&#8217; position. Most of the scoring is very similar to FPL, however midfielders earn points for tackles and forwards score extra for shots on target. This will be a route to points familiar to Sky Fantasy Football and Telegraph Fantasy Football players.</p>
<p>But all players score points through the following:</p>
<ul>
<li>Appearance (60 minutes or more): 1 point</li>
<li>Assist: 3 points</li>
<li>Yellow card: -1 point</li>
<li>Red card: -2 points</li>
<li>Own-goal: -2 points</li>
<li>Winning a penalty: +2 points</li>
<li>Conceding a penalty: -1 points</li>
</ul>
<p>Goalkeepers score through the following:</p>
<ul>
<li>Clean sheet (70 minutes or more): 5 points</li>
<li>First goal conceded: 0 points lost</li>
<li>Each additional goal conceded: -1 point</li>
<li>Goal scored: 9 points</li>
<li>Penalty save (excluding shootouts): 3 points</li>
<li>Every three saves: 1 point</li>
</ul>
<p>Defenders score through the following means:</p>
<ul>
<li>Clean sheet (60 minutes or more): 5 points</li>
<li>First goal conceded: 0 points lost</li>
<li>Each additional goal conceded: -1 point</li>
<li>Goal scored: 7 points</li>
</ul>
<p>Midfielders score points like so:</p>

<li>Clean sheet (60 minutes or more): 1 point</li>
<li>Goal scored: 7 points*</li>
<li>Every three tackles: 1 point</li>
<li>Every two key passes: 1 point</li>

<h2>Do you set captains in World Cup Fantasy 2022?</h2>
<p>For each matchday, you must select a captain who will score double points for your team.</p>
<p>Set your captain by clicking on the &#8216;Captain&#8217; icon available in the players&#8217; profile.</p>
<p>The rules were ambiguous over how many times your captain could be changed, however the rules have now been updated.</p>
<p>You are able to change your captain an unlimited number of times between unlocked players &#8211; but after your captain is locked (after his team has played), you will have one chance to change it to an unlocked player. This must be before their game begins though.</p>

<h2>How do substitutions work in World Cup Fantasy 2022?</h2>
<p>Your substitutes will automatically replace a player who did not play in your team in the list of priority from one to three, just like in FPL.</p>
<p>The change must ensure your team meets one of the valid formations.</p>
<p>During a matchday, you can substitute a player out of your starting 11 if they have not yet played in the matchday.</p>
<h2>Are there chips in World Cup Fantasy 2022?</h2>
<p>Yes there are, however they are called &#8216;Boosters&#8217; in World Cup Fantasy.</p>
<h3>Wildcard</h3>
<p>This allows you to make unlimited transfers within a specific round &#8211; but not the first match of the group stage or the round of 16.</p>
<p>The boosters are not reversible once activated. They can only be used once and multiple boosters can&#8217;t be used at once.</p>
<h3>12th Man</h3>
<p>The 12th Man booster means you can selected one additional player to score points for your team in a matchday.</p>
<p>When selected, the 12th man can&#8217;t be substituted, captained or transferred.</p>
<p>You can select any player to be your 12th Man and budget or team restrictions do not count here.</p>
<h3>Power Captain</h3>
<p>Take the stress out of picking which of your side will score the most points from your 15 man squad. Instead, whoever scores the most points will automatically be given the armband and score double points.</p>

<p>Your team will automatically be entered on the overall leaderboard but you can create and join an unlimited number of public or private mini-leagues over the course of the World Cup.</p>
<p>You can create leagues by navigating to the leagues tab. Public or private leagues can be created.</p>
<h2>What prizes are on offer in World Cup Fantasy 2022?</h2>
<p>The only prize currently mentioned is for entering your team.</p>
<p>If you register your squad before the deadline you have a chance to win two Category 1 tickets to the Fifa World Cup final in Qatar on December 18 (not including flights, spending money or accommodation).</p>
