<h2>Liam Dorrian's Gameweek 1 team reveal: Initial thoughts</h2>
<p>After a relaxing summer off without any football to worry about, it's great to have the Premier League starting back again.</p>
<p>Sky has done a brilliant job this season by making the necessary <a href="https://www.fantasyfootballhub.co.uk/sky-fantasy-football-changes">tweaks</a>.</p>
<p>No man of the match awards and the pricing of the players should lead to less of a template and tough decisions for managers.</p>
<p>For my team, I've tried to go for a balanced team. Some of the midfielders under £7.0m such as <strong>Boubacar Kamara (£6.8m)</strong>, <strong>Lewis O'Brien (£6.6m)</strong> and <strong>Joao Palhinha (£6.6m)</strong> are popular picks but with so many unknowns, I've decided not to pick them.</p>
<p>It's easier to downgrade to a cheap enabler than upgrade from one.</p>
<p>I have thought of the idea of going with a premium back 5 but feel like it really hurts the rest of your team.</p>
<p>I plan not to use too many transfers at the start and will just see what happens. I plan to break the season into five or six-week chunks and will use the 50 transfers to take advantage of teams with favourable fixtures and three-for-one opportunities.</p>
<p>The overhaul is after Gameweek 16, so I would like to have a transfer count of around 30.</p>
<h2><strong>Liam Dorrian's Sky Gameweek 1 team reveal</strong></h2>
<p>These are my current thoughts at the time of writing, with the intention being to share my thought process and approach.</p>
<p>Although this will very likely be my team at 8pm on <span class="zm_inLnk" data-value="2022-08-05 15:00:00">Friday,</span> things could change depending on injuries, line-ups etc.</p>
<h3><strong>Ederson (£7.9m) </strong></h3>
<p>Ederson is my team to give me some Manchester City coverage. City have decent fixtures to start with, so Ederson is a cheap way into their defence.</p>
<h3><strong>Cristian Romero (£7.8m)</strong></h3>
<p>Romero is nicely priced at £7.8m. Spurs should improve even more under Conte this season.</p>
<p>They also have nice opening fixtures. Romero scored 97 points in 21 starts last season, which was impressive. He could be the bargain defender of the season.</p>
<h3><strong>Eric Dier (£8.4m)  </strong></h3>
<p>Doubling up on spurs defenders due to their fixtures and their favourable pricing. Dier never picked up any bonus tiers until the 9th game of last season and still scored 180 points. Wouldn’t be surprised if he scored over 200 points this season.</p>
<h3><strong>Virgil van Dijk (£10.7m) </strong></h3>
<p>Van Dijk has been my Mr Reliable in my Sky teams over the years.</p>
<p>Almost guaranteed to be a top-five scoring player every season. Guaranteed to start and great for passing bonus and clean sheets.</p>
<p>Pretty much a set and forget in my team.</p>
