<p>Fantasy Premier League (FPL) launched a brand new game mode on Monday (March 25) &#8211; but what is FPL Challenge and how do you play it?</p>

<h2>What is FPL Challenge?</h2>
<p>FPL Challenge is a new weekly fantasy format, starting from FPL Gameweek 30.</p>
<p>Fantasy managers will be able to pick a whole new team every week, based on a specific &#8216;challenge&#8217; or  theme.</p>
<p>Just like in regular FPL, managers will pick a 15 man squad, however scores won&#8217;t be built up over the season.</p>
<p>There will instead be weekly prizes for the top-scoring teams and seasons won&#8217;t be ruined if a deadline is missed or fantasy fans have a poor week.</p>
<p>The FPL Challenge squad will be separate from managers&#8217; regular FPL teams, just like it is in FPL Draft.</p>
<h2>How does FPL Challenge differ from FPL?</h2>
<p>There are some key differences, aside from the fact FPL Challenge is a weekly game.</p>
<h3>Up to five players from one team</h3>
<p>Standard FPL allows managers to pick a maximum of three players from one team. FPL Challenge ups this limit to five.</p>
<p>So if Manchester City play Sheffield United at home, for example, managers might max out on City players.</p>

<h3>Deadlines</h3>
<p>FPL deadlines are 90 minutes before the first match of each gameweek, which leaves many managers scrabbling around Twitter looking for early team news leaks.</p>
<p>There will be no such issue in FPL Challenge, as teams can be entered and edited up to the final deadline, when there are fewer than four teams left to play in the gameweek.</p>
<p>Players can be picked up until the deadline of their respective matches, so managers might opt to wait for the likes of City&#8217;s lineup to be released before finalising their squads.</p>
<h2>How do I build an FPL Challenge team?</h2>
<p>Just like in FPL, FPL Challenge squads will be made up of two goalkeepers, five defenders, five midfielders and three forwards.</p>
<p>A captain and vice-captain can be selected and any formation can be used. This is providing there is one goalkeeper, at least three defenders and one forward in the starting 11.</p>
<p>The budget will be £100m, unless there is a gameweek-specific challenge in place.</p>

<h2>How do I score points in FPL Challenge?</h2>
<p>The FPL Challenge points system is identical to the regular FPL game.</p>
<p>Individual player points could however vary, depending on the challenge in place each week.</p>
<p>Scores will be reset weekly and prizes will be awarded each gameweek.</p>
<h2>What challenges are there in FPL Challenge?</h2>
<p>The first challenge (Gameweek 30) is &#8216;unlimited funds&#8217;, which gives managers the opportunity to build a squad with money no object.</p>
<p>There will be no need for budget picks to afford <strong>Erling Haaland</strong>, <strong>Mohamed Salah </strong>and <strong>Son Heung-min</strong>, which could lead to some big scores.</p>
<p>Gameweek 31 will see &#8216;forwards score double&#8217;, effectively giving each team four captains if the armband is put on one of the front three.</p>
<p>Gameweek 32 is titled &#8216;Reds Rivalry&#8217;. Focusing on Jurgen Klopp&#8217;s final trip to Old Trafford as Liverpool manager, all players from the Reds and Manchester United will earn double points.</p>

<h2>How many FPL Challenge teams can I have? Can I compete with friends?</h2>
<p>Each manager is limited to one team, while they can enter up to 25 mini-leagues.</p>

<p>The biggest prize comes from an end-of-season draw, which managers will be entered for providing they entered a team before the end of the 2023/24 season. They will get one entry to the prize draw per gameweek team entered.</p>
