<p>Fantasy Premier League (FPL) managers will have more chips to use this season &#8211; but the Assistant Manager has been axed after last season&#8217;s experiment.</p>
<p>Hot on the heels of <a href="https://www.fantasyfootballhub.co.uk/fpl-2025-26-changes-defensive-contributions">major points scoring changes</a> announced on Friday morning (July 18), FPL has now released details about the chips for the 2025/26 game.</p>

<h2>New for FPL 2025/26: Two sets of chips</h2>
<p>FPL managers usually get two <a href="https://www.fantasyfootballhub.co.uk/what-is-the-fantasy-premier-league-wildcard-and-when-to-use-it">Wildcards</a> to use in either half of the season, together with one <a href="https://www.fantasyfootballhub.co.uk/what-is-the-free-hit-chip-in-fpl-and-how-can-we-use-it">Free Hit</a>, <a href="https://www.fantasyfootballhub.co.uk/what-is-the-fpl-bench-boost-and-when-to-use-it">Bench Boost</a> and <a href="https://www.fantasyfootballhub.co.uk/what-is-the-fantasy-premier-league-triple-captain-and-when-to-use-it">Triple Captain</a>.</p>
<p>That is about to change.</p>
<p>There will now be a Wildcard, Free Hit, Triple Captain and Bench Boost to use in each half of the campaign, providing eight opportunities to use a chip this season instead of five.</p>
<p>The Assistant Manager chip trialled in 2024/25 has been scrapped.</p>
<p>FPL managers will have until the Gameweek 19 deadline passes to use the first set of chips &#8211; much like the Wildcard in previous campaigns.</p>
<p>This will add an additional layer of strategy to the game, with the Free Hit, Triple Captain and Bench Boost usually reserved for <a href="https://www.fantasyfootballhub.co.uk/fpl-blank-double-gameweek-guide">double gameweeks</a> later in the season.</p>
