<h2><strong>FPL Gameweek 22 Review </strong></h2>
<p>A gameweek that will live long in FPL Folklore!  Most fantasy mangers did not really know what to do as they approached the last hour before deadline.</p>
<p>Postponements were rumoured then confirmed, some of them after the game week had started. Any planning for 'nailed on' double gameweek players quickly dissipated and the strongest of benches looked meek as we tried to get a side out amongst the chaos.</p>
<p>In the end, it really boiled down to whether you brought in <strong>Bruno Fernandes</strong> (or not!). Congratulations to those that did, especially if you captained him for <strong>46 points!</strong></p>

<h2><strong>FPL Gameweek 22 - My team</strong></h2>
<p>I didn't bring in Bruno. I had insufficient funds for the upgrade off Son. With Cristiano Ronaldo already in place and the 'logical' captain - I never really considered it for my team.</p>
<p>With a few minutes remaining I decided to transfer-in Mason Mount for Chelsea's double. He surprisingly didn't get the start against Manchester City and was pretty poor against a spirited Brighton side. As for Marcos Alonso, I don't know what to say apart from see below transfer section!</p>
<p>57 points and a drop of around 5,000 places to 15k. I was surprised it wasn't a bigger red arrow. Overall this is still a strong position with five chips intact and many gameweeks to come, but there is work to do on my squad and a difficult course to navigate!</p>

<h2>FPL Double Gameweek 23 New Fixtures &amp; Risk?</h2>
<p>At time of writing, we have confirmation of one double fixture in Gameweek 23, with <strong>Burnley v Watford </strong>having been confirmed.</p>
<p>Many were expecting an Aston Villa double - but the closer we get to the deadline, the less likely this is to be confirmed.</p>
<p><strong>Burnley</strong> however, continue to be the<strong> 'highest risk'</strong> team in terms <strong>of postponements</strong> - with their game away to Arsenal at risk this weekend.</p>

<h2><strong>Gameweek 23 Transfer Options (1 free transfer, £3.7m ITB)</strong></h2>
<p>We should all wait for confirmation over extra fixtures and any possible postponements. It is simply ludicrous to make early transfers in these times.</p>
<p>That said, it still makes some sense to start <strong>disposing of Chelsea assets</strong> ahead of blanks in Gameweeks 24, 25  and 27.  For this reason - <strong>Marcos Alonso </strong>is heading for the departure lounge.  I also need a <strong>plan to bring back Mohamed Salah</strong> - so <strong>Mason Mount</strong> may survive this weekend (v Tottenham), though he may also depart if further doubles are announced.</p>
<p><strong> Emile Smith Rowe</strong> is also close to the exit for me. He is a doubt for a start these days, coupled with two upcoming blanks for Arsenal (25 &amp; 27) but did start against Liverpool on Thursday evening. Perhaps he is OK for the bench?</p>
<p>High on the shopping list are <strong>Aston Villa assets</strong>.  There are many options and they help to enable the Salah move. As well as two attractive double gameweeks to come (Leeds &amp; Burnley), Villa now have an enticing run of fixtures all the way to gameweek 30.</p>
<p><strong>Lucas Digne</strong> (£5.0m) looks particularly attractive following his move from Everton. <strong>Jacob Ramsey</strong> is a great enabler, available for just 4.6m and I also like <strong>Ollie Watkins</strong> (£7.7m) for the upcoming run of games.  <strong>Phillipe Coutinho</strong> (£7.0m) is the glamour pick - though perhaps needs a little more time to get up to speed.</p>
<p>If Leeds United were to get their double next week, I would be tempted to bring <strong>Raphinha (£</strong>6.5m) back for their fixture v Newcastle United.</p>

<h2>Watford &amp; Burnley Assets - My view</h2>
<p>If this turns out to be the only double this week, I think it could turn out to be something of a trap (for my team) to go to heavy on investment in their assets at this stage.</p>
