<h2>FPL Double Gameweek 36: Teams and fixtures to target</h2>
<p>Spread betting projections, where available, are taken from Hub partner site <a href="https://www.notonlyfpl.co.uk/">Not Only FPL</a> which uses Spreadex.</p>
<p>These projections often shift as information like team news emerges.</p>
<h3>⚽ Target for goals: Manchester City, Brighton and Crystal Palace</h3>
<ul>
<li><strong>Manchester City</strong>: 4.99 v Brentford (H) and Crystal Palace (H)</li>
<li><strong>Brighton</strong>: 2.47 v Wolves (H)</li>
<li><strong>Crystal Palace</strong>: 1.99 v Everton (H) and Manchester City (A)</li>
<li><strong>Liverpool</strong>: 2.00 v Chelsea (H)</li>
</ul>
<p>Manchester City are the clear standouts this week, although they may have blown their title chances.</p>
<p>Either way, they’re four behind Arsenal in terms of goal difference as well as two points if they win their game in hand.</p>
<p>All they can do now is win and attempt to bridge the gap in goals, which is reflected in the projections.</p>
<p>Meanwhile Brighton’s purple patch may have ended against Newcastle, but the Wolves fixture is a great opportunity to get back on track.</p>
<p>Based on the evidence from last week, the Crystal Palace projection may be a little generous, although they may get an opportunity to rest some of their players early on Thursday.</p>
<p>I’m expecting a heavily rotated team against Everton and then close to full strength against Manchester City.</p>
<p>Normally, Chelsea would be a difficult fixture. Their current form is worse than some of the teams battling relegation though and Liverpool could put them to the sword at home.</p>

<h3>💪 Clean sheets: Manchester City, Brighton and Aston Villa</h3>
<ul>
<li><strong>Manchester City</strong>: 34% / 44% v Brentford (H) and Crystal Palace (H)</li>
<li><strong>Brighton</strong>: 44% v Wolves (H)</li>
<li><strong>Aston Villa</strong>: 37% v Burnley (A)</li>
<li><strong>Crystal Palace</strong>: 27% / 8% v Everton (H) and Manchester City (A)</li>
</ul>
<p>All of City’s shortcomings became apparent once again against Everton. That won’t have gone unnoticed by astute coaches.</p>
<p>Brentford always tend to give them a game, as will Crystal Palace’s best 11. A clean sheet could be optimistic here, especially with City pushing for goals.</p>
<p>Brighton have a strong chance though, given the lack of goal threat from Wolves, and centre-backs have done well against them recently.</p>
<p>Aston Villa’s projection is largely due to their opposition, however they’re going all in on the Europa League and there might not be much left for this game afterwards, which could result in a less predictable affair.</p>
<p>Given how likely Palace are to rotate in their first fixture and Everton’s push for Europe, I don’t fancy the Eagles' chances in that clash.</p>
<p>Then, against Manchester City who need goals, their clean sheet prospects also appear minimal. Which leads to the question - should we even bother investing in them?</p>

<h2>FPL Double Gameweek 36: Players to target</h2>
<p>Here are my top five players to target with their opponents' weaknesses in mind:</p>
<h3>🥇 <strong>Erling Haaland (v Brentford and Crystal Palace)</strong></h3>
<p><strong>Target: Zonal match-up and headed attempts</strong></p>
<p>City’s clean sheet projections are good, but they need to score goals. Furthermore, Brentford’s attacking stats are good, and Crystal Palace’s aren’t bad either.</p>
<p>The above suggests that it may be more prudent to focus on their attacking assets, and they have the second-best attacking stats in the league, although both opposition have strong defensive stats.</p>
<p>In the reverse fixtures, City beat Brentford 0-1 thanks to a goal from Haaland. He also braced in the 0-3 against Crystal Palace.</p>
<p>Brentford’s main weaknesses appear to be shots from the centre (second-most in the league) and defending headed attempts. Those are two areas we know Haaland will be a threat from.</p>
<p>Palace don't have any clear cut weaknesses, however the accumulated fatigue will play its part in their third game of the week.</p>
<p>City’s main aerial threats are Haaland, <strong>Nico O’Reilly</strong> and <strong>Marc Guehi</strong>, with <strong>Rayan Cherki</strong> the chief creator from crosses and set-pieces, providing dual avenues.</p>

<h3>🥈 <strong>Morgan Rogers</strong> <strong>(v Burnley)</strong></h3>
<p><strong>Target: Zonal match-up and shots in the box</strong></p>
<p>On paper this is an amazing fixture, but how much will Aston Villa rotate?</p>
<p>The goal projections indicate a slight drop off, despite Burnley having the current weakest defensive record in the league and the worst home defensive stats.</p>
<p>Unai Emery's side won the reverse fixture 2-1 thanks to a brace from <strong>Donyell Malen - </strong>remember him?</p>
<p>Villa’s recent attacking stats are poor, but Burnley concede the most shots from the centre and left, topping the league for both metrics as well as shots in the box conceded.</p>
<p><strong>Ollie Watkins</strong> and <strong>Morgan Rogers</strong> meanwhile lead Villa for shots in the box, and while both operate centrally, Rogers is the one that occupies the two zones where Burnley are weakest.</p>
<p>Furthermore, he’s more arguably likely to feature in this game after the semi-final against Forest.</p>

<p>Brighton are second for projected goals this week at home to Wolves, and the stats support that well.</p>
<p>The reverse fixture ended 1-1 thanks to a goal from <strong>Jan Paul van Hecke</strong>, but will history repeat itself or will we see Brighton capitalise?</p>
