<h2>What are the FPL Gameweek 1 fixtures?</h2>
<p>Arsenal players will be popular come Gameweek 1 &#8211; expect their clean sheet odds to be strong for the visit of the Championship winners.</p>
<p>Michael Carrick&#8217;s Manchester United face Hull (A) in the early kick-off on Saturday, a standout fixture for record-breaking assister <strong>Bruno Fernandes</strong>.</p>
<p>Newcastle v Liverpool is among the games on Sunday, before a London derby between Fulham and Chelsea on Monday evening.</p>

<h2>How do the promoted clubs start the season?</h2>
<p>The promoted clubs often provide a budget option or two to pad out FPL squads &#8211; but don&#8217;t rely on them as starters early on.</p>
<p>All three have a challenging start, playing some of the top teams.</p>
<p>Coventry play Arsenal and Manchester City in their first six, while Hull have United, Villa and Chelsea to contend with. Coventry and Hull face each other in Gameweek 2.</p>
<p>Ipswich have the best Gameweek 1 match-up, however they then play United and Liverpool.</p>
<p>United will be a team to target early on, with both their first two fixtures coming against promoted sides.</p>
<p>Here are the first six fixtures for the league&#8217;s newcomers:</p>

<h2>When do European matches begin?</h2>
<p>The Champions League will soon be a factor for Arsenal, Manchester City, Manchester United, Aston Villa and Liverpool.</p>
<p>Group games begin the week of September 7, between Gameweek 3 and 4.</p>
<p>This will be a particular test for United, who benefited from having no European distractions last season. Recruiting more squad members looks to be crucial to their success.</p>
<p>The Europa League &#8211; featuring Crystal Palace, Bournemouth and Sunderland &#8211; begins the following week.</p>
<p>Brighton will have to get through a two-legged play-off round in the Europa Conference League to reach the group phase.</p>
<p>The playoff matches are on August 20 &#8211; the day before the Premier League season begins &#8211; and August 27.</p>
<p>It&#8217;s not until October 15 that the Conference League gets underway though, a couple of days before FPL Gameweek 7.</p>

<h2>When is the first international break?</h2>
<p>FIFA has merged the usual September and October international breaks into one longer pause, between September 21 and October 6. This comes after FPL Gameweek 5.</p>
<p>National teams could play up to four times in this period, meaning FPL managers will have time to relax after a busy first few gameweeks.</p>
<h2>How will the World Cup affect FPL Gameweek 1?</h2>
<p>The World Cup final is on Sunday, July 19, about five weeks before the start of the Premier League season.</p>
<p>Most players should be ready to go by Gameweek 1, although some who get to the final will start their pre-season preparations later than others.</p>

<h2>When are the blank and double gameweeks?</h2>

<p>These weeks are among the most crucial to FPL planning, with teams playing twice in a gameweek or not at all.</p>
<p>Unless we get something unexpected, like poor weather leading to postponements, these gameweeks will take place in the second half of the season:</p>

<li><strong>Double Gameweek 32</strong></li>

<h2>What should FPL managers do after the fixture announcement?</h2>
<p>The fixture announcement always creates a bit of excitement among the biggest fantasy fans.</p>
<p>But there&#8217;s no need to panic yet. It is expected to be several weeks before FPL is officially launched, probably after the World Cup is over.</p>
<p>Until then, we won&#8217;t know how much players cost, so working out which players to start with in Gameweek 1 is a decision for another day.</p>
<p>Many of us will be counting down the days to the new season though, so those who are super keen can at least do a bit of planning if they wish.</p>
