<p>The full fixture schedule for the 2024/25 Premier League season has been released today (Tuesday, June 18) &#8211; the first fantasy football milestone of the new campaign.</p>
<p>The season will kick-off on Friday, August 16, with Erik ten Hag&#8217;s Manchester United hosting Fulham.</p>
<p>Our <a href="https://www.fantasyfootballhub.co.uk/fixture-ticker"><strong>customisable fixture ticker</strong></a> will be live soon for those eager to start planning, while fixture expert Ben Crellin’s famous <a href="https://www.fantasyfootballhub.co.uk/ben-crellins-fpl-transfer-planning-sheet"><strong>transfer planning sheet</strong> </a>will also be available exclusively to Hub members closer to the start of the season.</p>
<p>We&#8217;ll publish a pre-season article analysing the best and worst fixture runs, with all of our articles in our <a href="https://www.fantasyfootballhub.co.uk/fantasy-premier-league-ultimate-guide-fpl-tips"><strong>Ultimate Guide to FPL</strong></a>, updated regularly in the run-up to Gameweek 1.</p>

<h2>FPL Gameweek 1 fixtures 2024/25</h2>
<p>The standout fixture of FPL Gameweek 1 is Chelsea v Manchester City &#8211; a meeting between old colleagues Pep Guardiola and Enzo Maresca.</p>
<p>Former City assistant Maresca helped get Leicester promoted from the Championship but has replaced Mauricio Pochettino at Stamford Bridge.</p>
<p>This fixture finished 4-4 last season, so may not be as bad as it first looks for <strong>Cole Palmer</strong>, who is surely due a significant price rise in FPL.</p>
<p>There will be plenty to learn in Gameweek 1, with a number of managers taking charge of their first competitive matches at their new clubs.</p>
<p>Arne Slot&#8217;s Liverpool face a trip to promoted Ipswich, while Julen Lopetegui&#8217;s West Ham play Aston Villa at home.</p>
<p>Fabian Hurzeler, 31, will become the Premier League&#8217;s youngest manager when he and Brighton travel to Everton.</p>
<p>And Leicester, yet to appoint a new manager at the time of writing, will play at home on Monday night against Spurs.</p>

<h2>How do the promoted teams start?</h2>
<p>None of the three promoted teams have a particularly appealing start, which may put the brakes on relying on a budget gem or two at the start of the season.</p>
<p>Ipswich&#8217;s first two games against Liverpool and City will be a major test for Kieran McKenna &#8211; and they also face last season&#8217;s fourth-placed side Aston Villa in Gameweek 6.</p>
<p>The Tractor Boys play fellow promoted team Southampton in Gameweek 5, although it is an away fixture.</p>
<p>Leicester start against Spurs and also play Villa as well as Arsenal, who narrowly missed out on winning the title in May.</p>

<h2>How do last season&#8217;s top four start the season?</h2>
<p>The Premier League went down to the wire last season, with City edging out Arsenal on the final day.</p>
<p>Liverpool and Villa finished third and fourth. The Reds will have to adjust to life post-Jurgen Klopp, while Unai Emery&#8217;s men face a step up when it comes to European football, with Champions League games to look forward to.</p>
<h3>Mixed bag to start for City</h3>
<p>There&#8217;s positives and negatives for the champions, who begin their quest for a fifth title in a row against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.</p>
<p>A home match against Ipswich in Gameweek 2 looks like one in which <strong>Erling Haaland </strong>will be the overwhelming <a href="https://www.fantasyfootballhub.co.uk/the-best-fpl-captain">captaincy</a> choice.</p>
<p>West Ham away and Brentford at home also look reasonable, however Arsenal away in Gameweek 5 will be a challenge.</p>
<p>Newcastle in Gameweek 6 could be another tricky game, although this match will be at the Etihad.</p>

<h3>Two promoted teams in a row for Arsenal after City clash</h3>
<p>The City fixture is the main challenge for the Gunners in their first six &#8211; but before that they have the North London Derby against Spurs to tackle.</p>
<p>The schedule looks better immediately afterwards, with two straight home games against promoted teams &#8211; Leicester and Southampton.</p>
<p>Skip forward another two weeks though and there&#8217;s another unappealing run against Liverpool (H), Newcastle (A) and Chelsea (A).</p>

<h3>Better start for Slot&#8217;s Liverpool</h3>
<p>Home fixtures against Brentford, Nottingham Forest and Bournemouth contribute to a relatively kind start for Slot and Liverpool, however the away games are likely to be tougher.</p>
<p>Ipswich away could be harder than it looks in Gameweek 1, with Portman Road seeing top-tier football for the first time in 22 years.</p>
<p>Slot faces fellow Dutch manager Ten Hag in Gameweek 3, while Oliver Glasner&#8217;s Crystal Palace are Liverpool&#8217;s opponents in Gameweek 6.</p>
<p>Oliver Glasner got Palace firing towards the end of last season &#8211; but how many of their star attacking players will remain at the club by then?</p>

<h2>When are the blank and double gameweeks in FPL in 2024/25?</h2>
<p>There are expected to be fewer blanks and doubles this season as a result of changes to the FA Cup schedule.</p>
