<h2><strong>FPL 21/22 season review</strong></h2>
<p>Finishing the season with an overall rank of 105,292 last season was comfortably my worse in the last eight seasons.</p>
<p>There were many factors that contributed to this, with the main one being the disruption to the Premier League midway through the season - with many games being called off last minute.</p>
<p>The cancellations didn't fall in my favour, as I was often left not being able to field 11 players without a big transfer hit (one gameweek I was even forced into a last minute Free Hit following a very late decision to postpone a game I had lots of players in).</p>
<p>Despite the chaos, I was happy with my final rank and it was a really fun season.</p>
<p>Usually towards the end of a season I'm trying to consolidate my good rank (and positions in mini-leagues) but last season I had to try a new strategy in order to make up ground, which worked well.</p>
<p>This was epitomised by a big <strong>James Maddison (£8.0m)</strong> captaincy haul in Double Gameweek 37.</p>
<p>I also went without <strong>Mohamed Salah (£13.0m)</strong> for the final 10 Gameweeks of the season and spread the funds out, which worked out well.</p>
