<h2>Chris Tan's fixture analysis: Gameweek 12 review</h2>
<p>I did not foresee the Everton v Crystal Palace scoreline or the Chelsea v Manchester City chaos.</p>
<p>It felt like a lot of the teams were limping their way to the international break last weekend.</p>
<p>What I did predict correctly was the Arsenal central match-up, with <strong>Leandro Trossard (£6.5m)</strong> benefiting.</p>
<p>I felt Manchester United would struggle against Luton’s deep block and the Fulham game would suit <strong>Ollie Watkins (£8.4m)</strong> and <strong>Moussa Diaby (£6.8m)</strong>.</p>
<p>This week is a bit of a horror show in terms of fixtures, so it’s imperative we try to squeeze as much value as we can out of it. Who are the best targets? Let's take a look.</p>

<h2><strong>FPL Gameweek 13: Clean sheet and goalscoring odds</strong></h2>
<p>You can see how difficult the fixtures are to predict based on the odds below.</p>
<p>City, Tottenham Hotspur, Arsenal and West Ham are the most likely to score two or more goals, according to the odds.</p>
<p>Arsenal, Palace and Fulham have the best chances of a clean sheet but I don't expect many this week.</p>

<h2><strong>FPL Gameweek 13 fixtures analysed</strong></h2>
<h3><strong>Manchester City v Liverpool </strong></h3>
<p>Both sides are in a reasonable run of form and it’s no surprise they sit at the top of the table.</p>
<p>The main difference is that Liverpool look to be running at near to their top level, whereas City look to still be in third gear.</p>
<p>The home side usually prevails when these bitter rivals clash in the league. Last season, the games ended 4-1 (City) and 1-0 (Liverpool), with goals from <strong>Mohamed Salah (£13.0m)</strong> in both matches.</p>
<p>Reviewing the recent league games at the Etihad, the results have been 4-1, 2-2, 1-1, 4-0 and 2-1.</p>
<p>Both sides are packed with international players and there won’t be much preparation time, given this is the early kick-off. They both play in Europe the following week.</p>

<p><strong>Additional factors to consider</strong></p>
<p>Liverpool’s xG stats are the second best in the league but City aren’t far behind and are second in terms of goals scored.</p>
<p>Focusing on home stats, City’s xG drops to 11<sup>th</sup> in the league over the season, although again they’re second for goals scored.</p>
<p>The question is whether the goal rate is sustainable given their limited chance creation.</p>
<p>From what I’ve seen, I’m inclined to believe it is, especially given the amount of big chances <strong>Erling Haaland (£14.0m)</strong> has been missing - he’s scored 10 out of 23, which is 43%. He’s recorded nearly double the big chances of the next highest player.</p>

<p>Liverpool’s away xG is the second best in the league but their goals scored are only good enough for seventh.</p>
<p>Both sides have reasonable defensive stats in their last six matches. City rank third best at home this season and only concede an average of 0.60 per game.</p>
<p>Liverpool’s away defensive stats are only ninth best in the league and they’ve conceded an average of 1.33 goals per game.</p>
<p>Despite the above, Liverpool have conceded the least goals (10) this season, matched by Arsenal and then followed by City (12).</p>
<p>Neither side has any glaring weaknesses but both share the same one, although Liverpool’s is slightly more of a weakness. That is that their right-hand side tends to be the easiest to expose.</p>
<p><strong>Jeremy Doku (£6.7m)</strong> could cause havoc but I think Pep Guardiola saw enough in the Chelsea game to give him nightmares and he will want to bring back the control, which suggests <strong>Jack Grealish (£7.2m)</strong> may get the game here. The interchange with <strong>Bernardo Silva (£6.3m)</strong> should cause Liverpool a lot of problems.</p>
<p>Liverpool will be hopeful <strong>Luis Diaz (£7.4m) </strong>will be available for this one, as he provides them with more balance than the enigmatic <strong>Diogo Jota (£7.7m)</strong>.</p>
<p>Only Arsenal play with a higher defensive line than these two sides and both have pacey attackers who can exploit this.</p>
<p><strong>Outcome</strong></p>
<p>Liverpool are one of the few sides who will come to the Etihad looking to have a go, which should lead to a nice spectacle. I expect both sides to score here.</p>
