<h2><strong>FPL Gameweek 16 - Brief Review</strong></h2>
<p>It was a weekend where most of the owned FPL Players had matches on Friday and Saturday, and <strong>penalties played a significant part in fantasy fortunes,</strong> with six being awarded in the first six matches!</p>
<p>The leading three sides all scored from the spot, with <strong>Raheem Sterling</strong> now seemingly the main man at Manchester City.  Highly captained <strong>Mohamed Salah</strong> and Euros winner <strong>Jorginho</strong> (2 penalties) also delivered . <strong>Bryan Mbeumo,</strong> meanwhile, rewarded the patience of his owners late on Friday evening.</p>
<p>Finally, the pivotal <strong>Cristiano Ronaldo</strong> won the penalty (and the game) for Manchester United at a valiant but ultimately goal-shy Norwich City.</p>
<p><strong>James Maddison</strong> starred in Leicester's thumping 4-0 win over Newcastle on Sunday, but it was <strong>Conor Gallagher</strong> who stole the show for Crystal Palace with a brace and fantastic late strike to delight his fantasy owners.</p>
<p>At just £6.1m, the talented midfielder is now firmly back on FPL radars before some kind festive fixtures.</p>

<h2><strong>FPL Gameweek 16 - My Team</strong></h2>
<p>It was a red-arrow weekend for my team, and looked that way fairly early on due a couple of <strong>bench cameos (</strong>from <strong>Diogo Jota</strong> and <strong>Phil Foden</strong>). I also suffered some fine-line 'variance' as my transfer-in, <strong>Joshua King</strong>, struck the post and <strong>Emmanuel Dennis</strong> scored from the resultant corner for Watford.</p>
<p>My love-hate relationship with owning Chelsea defenders continues. <strong>Reece James</strong> scored 52 points in the four weeks before I owned him. In the four weeks since I bought him, he has scored 1 point!</p>
<p>The <strong>decision to avoid Ronaldo</strong> and spread the funds, (maintaining a strong bench) <strong>may yet prove to be the right one</strong>, but the late penalty certainly hurt.</p>
<p><strong>Aaron Ramsdale</strong> (11 points) saved the gameweek from being really bad.</p>

<h2>FPL Gameweek 17 Transfer Options (1 free transfer, £1.3m ITB)</h2>
<p>The game between <strong>Brentford and Manchester United has been postponed</strong> due to Covid issues. My squad does not currently have any of their players, so this is a fortunate advantage this week. Other games could also be at risk and we may not know with any certainty before the FPL deadline.</p>
<p><strong>Joao Cancelo is suspended</strong> after receiving a fifth yellow card, <strong>Tino Livramento</strong> has <strong>'gashed' his leg</strong> and with <strong>Callum Wilson</strong> playing <strong>away to Liverpool</strong>, my <strong>'fortress' bench</strong> of recent weeks isn't looking too strong!</p>
