<p>After a busy festive period, FPL has been on pause for over a week, with Gameweek 21 a distant memory.</p>
<p>But there&#8217;s been plenty going on since, including:</p>

<h2>FPL Gameweek 22 tips: Predicted points and captaincy picks</h2>
<p><b>Erling Haaland </b>leads the <a href="https://www.fantasyfootballhub.co.uk/predictions">Hub AI</a> predicted points chart on 7.7, narrowly ahead of Ekitike.</p>
<p>The Norwegian loves playing against Manchester United, scoring eight and assisting three in nine appearances against City&#8217;s rivals.</p>
<p><strong>Bruno Fernandes</strong>, who is back from a hamstring injury, is a differential <a href="https://www.fantasyfootballhub.co.uk/best-fpl-captain-for-gameweek-22-2025-26">captaincy</a> option.</p>
<p>Some FPL managers will choose to take Haaland on this week and captain Ekitike &#8211; but it&#8217;s worth considering how many minutes the Liverpool forward will get having only just returned from an injury layoff.</p>
<p>A start and early substitution is a possibility, something to factor in when making your decision.</p>
<p>But playing against the league&#8217;s worst defence could override any concerns. No team has a worse expected goals conceded (xGC) than Burnley.</p>

<h2>FPL Gameweek 22 tips: Top transfer targets</h2>
<p><strong>Phil Foden </strong>is the most-sold player this week, with no attacking returns since Gameweek 16.</p>
<p>Patience could pay off though, with Foden also having a strong record against United. He&#8217;s scored seven times against them and has only put more past Brighton (eight).</p>
<p>It&#8217;s then Wolves (H) next, after which holders can reassess his place in their teams.</p>
<p><strong>Igor Thiago </strong>is the most-bought player, with more than 500,000 new owners.</p>
<p>Brentford rank bottom of the Hub&#8217;s <a href="https://www.fantasyfootballhub.co.uk/fixture-ticker">fixture ticker</a> up to Gameweek 26, meaning it&#8217;s reasonable to resist the temptation to buy the in-form forward, who has scored 29 points in two games.</p>

<p>While he is over-performing his data, veteran manager Adam Hopcroft &#8211; former <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UoPlaFPoAZE">Green Arrow podcast</a> co-host and Villa fan &#8211; has strongly tipped him in our <a href="https://www.fantasyfootballhub.co.uk/whatsapp">Hub Ultra WhatsApp grou</a>p this week.</p>
<p>The Englishman has 11 attacking returns in his last 16 league matches and over-performed his expected goal involvements (xGI) last season too.</p>

<h2>Should I play a chip this week?</h2>
<p>It remains a little early to be playing chips for most FPL managers, with blank and double gameweek planning a key part of using them in the second half of the season.</p>
<p>Early wildcarders could find it harder to navigate these crucial gameweeks, the schedule for which is far from set.</p>
<p>Those keen to move early though could consider doing so in Gameweek 24, when a number of teams&#8217; favourable fixture runs begin.</p>
<p>Chelsea are a prime example, with one of the best sets of games possible.</p>
<p>But waiting to see how they perform under Liam Rosenior and giving <strong>Cole Palmer </strong>a chance to prove his fitness is wise.</p>
<p>Similarly, Michael Carrick&#8217;s United team have two tricky games next but from Gameweek 24, could be back on the radar.</p>
